separated at birth?
http://www.raisingtruthcomics.com/images/elektra.jpg
http://www.ninjaturtles.com/cartoon/2003/guide_raph.jpg Well, there's definitely an influence..... |
ummmm...
umm... besides using the same weaponry, what influence???
|
Yeah, The weapon is the only thing I see in common.
|
Well, there's the whole RED thing... plus they're both drop dead sexy ninjas who use sai.
Eh, I guess you could parallel them, but they're hardly seperated at birth. |
No, The TMNT originally all wore red.
|
Yes, I know that, but Raph's the only one who's consistantly worn it. Though Elektra seems to have a thing for black nowadays.
|
My point was that Raph's character couldn't have been influenced by electra.
|
Heh, I'm not saying that his character was either, just that they've got a couple things in common.
|
Raphael and his copy
Clear!
That character is copied by Raphael! |
No he isn't.

I made a mistake. Now i correct my post. That character is copied by Raphael. Who is the character i don't know it! |
maybe they're, like, parallel versions of each other in opposite-sex universes, with no mutagen and... ooh, i'm getting a headache!

Never
Elektra?
Never heared (listened) in Italy! |
She's a Marvel character. I think she was created for Dare Devil, but has her own comic now. Im sure someone has more detailed info...
|
Do you know that in Italy...?
Dear Karpo, i think you don't know that in Italy New USA style arrives with months or years of delay.
For example in Italy today doesn't exist Cable Tv, The new TMNT cartoon will arrive in 2004, internet connection we have 56Kb/s (only in Big city there is T1 (FasWEB)) ADSL is rare... Eh Eh eh |
The Turtles were partially inspired by the ninjas in the Daredevil comic books, especially Frank Miller's run on the series. Elektra was one of those ninjas. She's one of the world's most deadly assassins.
The Turtles were also partially inspired by X-Men (the 'Teenage Mutant' part, at least). And God knows where the Turtle concept came from. Anyway, I thinks it's a safe assumtion that Kevin and Peter were aware of Elektra's character when they created the Turtles. |
No, the Ninja thing was there from the first sketch. It is true that the first issue is a parody of the time's main stream comics.
|
here's some stuff that I found to back up the TMNT/Daredevil theory
"They became mutants following one of those superhero-spawning accidents you see so many of in comics. In fact, this particular accident apparently had spawned a superhero — it was staged to look as though the radioactive canister that had given Daredevil his super senses had then fallen into the gutter and mutated four escapees from a pet store. They became ninjas through the training of a rat named Splinter, who was strongly reminiscent of a character named Stick, from Frank Miller's version of Daredevil. And they became teenagers through the simple passage of time." (and incidently, it was a blind man that caused the canister to fall off the truck) "Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird came up with an idea for a spoof of the new type of dark, gritty comics that had been the latest trend -- comics such as Daredevil, in which the blind avenger was fighting off a ninja clan called "The Hand," and facing Elektra, a ninja assassin." "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, would later go on to become a pop phenomenon, but Miller's influence could be seen at every turn. It is no secret that the Turtles master, Splinter was "a chip off the ol' block" of Daredevil's mentor, Stick. And the Foot clan, whose plans were foiled time after time by the Turtles almost has to be related to the Hand." |
Still it wasn't particulary Electra that inspired anything. The first sketch was turtle on two legs with Nunchuku.
|
I'm not trying to draw comparisons to the personalities of the two characters, but I think there is certainly a visual influence in the design of the characters. I know Raph is a turtle and Elektra is human, but there are similarities. Given all the other obvious allusions to Daredevil, I think it's safe to assume that the creators somewhat had Elektra in mind, if only subconsciously.
|
Atleast for the weapon part.
|
well....hulk obviously inspired the turtles, after all, they are both green!!!!!
:P |
Yeah must be!
