TMNT: their look in season 7
 

How do you think they Turtles will look like in the new season, I'm talking about their outfit. Will they be wearing the fast forward outfit when they come home, or will they have the original look? what do you think?

Murphy posted a picture of the new design (at least of Leonardo) in his blog some time ago. I could not find it when I searched for it, though.

He said the pupils were not set in stone. Otherwise he was pretty detailed about it.

As far as their outfit goes, they'll have no need for their FF get-up, so I'm certain that's out. The only thing I can think of would be if the turtles need some outfit in order to visit the digital world; otherwise, they should be the same. But yeah, the animation style is a bit different than what we're used to. As Scandia said, Murphy has posted a pic of Leo and several pics of various other things if you're interested in seeing the new style.

Though I wonder if $kids forced him to take them down. Basically, Leonardo looked almost the same as he did in FF (angular) , but the body was slightly redesigned to be like an angular stylization of the movie designs, including muscular for arms. He also had black pupils. Not a fan of them, actually.

Yeah, most definitely. I'm not to happy about the artwork style though. Does anybody besides me want the original 2k3 look back?:ohwell:

I certainly do. But this is a fair compromise. Could have been much worse. They just need to round the cheeks a bit more.

Yeah thats something thats always bothered me since FF. They also need to make all those pointed parts like around his legs,arms,hands etc. more curved.

He looked just as sharp edged as Fast Forward. There's no more nice rounded cheeky faces, or muscles. IMO, the Leo art looked bad. What's wrong with nice art!? I hope the stories make up for the crap art.
This digital concept though......meh...

I think the TMNT should stay black pupil-less for consistency. To have them with pupils all of a sudden after 6 seasons of the new toon would be weird.

omg! I just realized that after you pointed it out! That looks so bad. TMNT should always have the white slits for eyes when they're wearing their bandanas. It's been in the comics, 2k3, so why not here?

Maybe they'll change their minds and give them white eyes after all. btw, I saw a promo pic of Utrum Shredder, is he returning??

yeah...after seeing the return of detailed animation with shadowinging and countors on the turtles and people, I'm feeling nostalgic for the classic 2k3 animation. But at least in nthe concept art with Leo for season seven the coloring looks looks darker and and grittier than the bright nearly glaring coloring of Fast Foward. that would go a long way with me if the coloring returned to the dark and shadowed way it used to be.

Leo looks good, only the feet are a little big, too cartoony :ohwell:

The general idea of Leo's look here is alright, just round him out and I think he'd look great.
I could go either way about pupils, but I'm used to 2K3-only with out the bandana should you see their eyes completely. They obviously want to tie this in with the new movie look so...deal with it.

He probably couldn't come back as Saki either, atleast not seen in public, since they believe Saki to be dead.

It was indeed supposed to mimick the movie, all the while being "Streamlined" so it would be more cost effective. Less angles to draw= less work= lee money needed to pay animators. I would like to see that body rounded a bit more, with the head of the 2K3. and no Pupils... though I actually don't mind the pupils. Though I think it pretty much defeats the purpose of making them blocky looking to save money if they have to animate pupils on them as well.

Dude, did you draw those Leos? They are freakin' awesome. I really like the first one ... I love those weirdly proportioned Turtle limbs!

Did you draw them? Or did you get them somewhere?

I am curious for two reasons:

- the belt and holster show a greater amount of detail than the streamlined animation would allow.
- the ankles and calves on the first one are disproportionately thick. Ditto for the wrists.


Otherwise they look great. I especially like the shading.

That was done by Adrian Barrios (character artist since day one), that's his little stamp on the left. I guess Tokka found his blog.

But is that what the final designs for the Turtles are going to look like now, more or less?

I wish Murphy could tell us but he probably can't. :/

I like Adrians design the best. His Dark Turtle designs were also awesome.

Yeah Shredder is supposed to be the main villain of the TMNT universe. It'll be just too weird to see them fight an alien bug.:oops:*sigh*

um...ok, those new designs with the bulkier limbs are going to need some getting used to for me :ohwell:

I like that Leo concept art, although it says on his blog that those designs were not the final designs. The smaller less detailed one on Murphy's blog is.

I also don't care if we have Ch'rell in a spider suit instead of Shredder. Shredder was lame after his first few episodes, anyway.

Thirteen episodes. They haven't released much about the plot. Just that Splinter gets lost on the way back and they get Serling in place of him.

I think Shredder, while a good character, isn't necessary for the turtles. Brownranger, Shredder is NOT supposed to be the main villian of the TMNT verse.

Yeah. Shredder may be the main villain folks think of in TMNT conversations, but he only has short amounts of time in each TMNT-universe.

I assume Viral is one of if not the main villian since she is the one that causes Splinter to be scattered in cyberspace.
