Leo2007 03-05-2008 06:38 PM

Would you want to see some of the acolytes again in season 7?

Personally, I would love it.

I think them showing up individually for individual episodes would be alright with me. We never had the chance to learn much about them so I hope we do at some point.

Maybe there could be a Leo-centric episode where he goes to Africa and meets up with Firachi. Or we could have a Raph-centric episode where Joy actually takes him up on his offer and comes to New York to visit the guys and hang out with Raph.

Just some ideas for them. Besides, I much rather see the acolytes again than see the ninja tribunal, again. Sorry, but I never cared too much for any of the ninja tribunal members at all.

VaughnMichael 03-05-2008 06:48 PM

Nope, one word comes to mind with how they where treated in the lost season "disposable".
Anyway If they where more than some mortal combat knock off's and played a real part of the show than being human shields for the turtles than sure I'd like to see them.

Scandia 03-05-2008 06:53 PM

As long as they do not make Raph and Joy a couple or strongly hint at it, I'm cool with it. So far they kept it at a good level in the 5th season.

Spitfire 03-05-2008 06:54 PM

Finish THEM!

Seriously the Tribunal were Mortal Kombat rip offs to.

I can't see them going romantic with those two, regardless of all the Leo/Karai implications in the series.

Besides, I think Joy's personality is similar to Raph's.

I wouldn't mind seeing the acolytes again, though I think they should appear individually instead of all of them being together.

Raph's Girl 03-05-2008 11:08 PM

I'd love to see the human acolytes return!!! The turtles need more human allies other than Angel, April, and Casey. Plus there WERE hints here and there that Raph and Joy had some feelings for each other. I like Joy...she makes a nice raph's girl. :D And Don needs a good guy friend to hang out with.

Coola Yagami 03-05-2008 11:26 PM

Leatherhead?

Ra 03-06-2008 02:11 AM

I wouldn't mind seeing them again. Not too often though...but it would be fun...

Dood! They should totally make Leatherhead the 5th ninja turtle!!!1!

I kid, I kid, but I would like to see more of Leatherhead. T'would be nice.

X 03-06-2008 12:05 PM

I just hope that when they return back home, it stays consistant with the characters from seasons 1-5. I hope the storytelling and feel of the new season resembles seasons 1-5 as well... I mean FF isn't bad, but after watching some pre FF episodes last night, you can tell the episodes aren't as deep as they used to be.

I would like to see continuation in the new season. Whatever vehicles the Turtles had before they went to the future should still be there. Characters such as -

Usagi
Gen
Bishop
Baxter
Karai
Chaplin
Hun
Leatherhead
Uncle Auggie
April
Casey
Sid
Rat King
The Daymio and his son

and other characters, should still be around. I hope they just don't throw the TMNT into cyberspace in all 13 episodes (which I wish it were still 26 episodes,) and why even limit it to 13 episodes? How do you make 13 episodes last from September/October to May/June?

That are my only gripes... Consistancy... As long as they can keep it up, but introduce new characters, but show us some old characters we care for as well, TMNT will still be a kick ass cartoon like it has been the past 6 seasons. I'm just afraid they will forget the old, and only deal with new characters each season from here on out.

Revan 03-06-2008 01:52 PM

^ I don't know about that. I think it might be cool to see some new direction and this is the perfect time. Image vol 3 did that and that was one of the main reasons I enjoyed volume 3. They didn't just reuse the same characters over and over.
A new season could be a good time for this.

BubblyShell22 03-06-2008 01:59 PM

I'd love to see the acolytes again because they were pretty cool. I'd like to learn more about them and the lives they have lead prior to and after the Lost Season.

ToTheNines 03-06-2008 04:54 PM

"Well, to put it in a single woid: Getta Outta HEEEERE!"

The Big Bad 03-06-2008 07:24 PM

Collectively? No. Individually? Heck, yes. Of all the established characters, the acolytes currently have by far the most story potential, since we know practically nothing of their lives before they were shanghaied--there are tons of stories one could tell with them. I'd really love to see the show dvelve into what, exactly made the Tribunal choose them as acolytes.

agreed. I would especially like to see Joy make an appearance and have maybe have her become a semi regular character in the show (like Leather or something) and show up as an allie to the turtles when trouble comes about, and also to have some else that Raphal to get along with (since Casey seems preoccupied with April these days) and have some team ups between the two where they kick butt. plus I think it would be nice to have another competent girl fighter on nthe show, since their aren't many female fighters on this show that are good guys.

thebrownranger 03-07-2008 04:59 AM

I wouldn't really want to see them again in this new season because they weren't even important while they were alive in season 5.

That's even more reason to have them in the new season, because there's so much story to tell.

And yes, they were an important part of season five. They helped to take down the evil tengu shredder, along with the turtles.

Besides, the turtles could use some more allies and raphel could use another friend like joy, who's a regular guest star. Leo has Usagi and the ancient one to some degree, and Mikey has that superhero group he always hang around with, so Raph could have someone like Joy to hang around with, since Casey seems to be preoccupied with April these days.

Buslady 03-07-2008 01:22 PM

I want Joy to come back, Donnie's always gone oogly over the girls, let Raph have a go...he's a real man anyways:P:lol::evilgrin:

Revan 03-07-2008 01:54 PM

^I'm all for that. Joy and Raph would click.

I read that April and Raph were orginally meant to have more chemistry in the first movie but it was taken out. Raph needs some female attention too. Unfortunately lots of folks would be uncomfortable with that.

God why would we want to see the turtles having relationships with humans in the show? It's really just not needed.

No one is saying they should be romantic. But, they should be good friends. Besides, the acolytes have a lot of story that needs to be told.

Not to mention, Leo has a complex relationship with Karai that's not romantic of course and shouldn't be. Why shouldn't Raph have a relationship (that's not romantic) with Joy?

Spitfire 03-07-2008 02:59 PM

Based off Buslady's previous comments I just assumed she meant romantic.

Hero 03-08-2008 07:39 AM

Acolytes very welcome back.

Not sure how they will fit in the with the VR Troopers concept though.

The way this show is, I'd really be surprised if we never see the acolytes again.

Recurring characters is one of the best aspects of this series, IMHO.

and Donatello isn't a real man?

But I agree Don gets to show interest in the gals and team up/have the most interaction with any token female that shows up in the show. So why not let any of the other guys have a shot (in a none romantic way so as not to offend the the people that are squimish about that).

and I know that this is very unlikely but if the bring Joy in as a semi regular character I would like for the show to adapt that issue from the mirage comics where Raphael sneaks off from the other turtles and meats up with a girl fighter and has sparring matches with her with out the other guys knowing. That would be a pretty good dynamic for Raph and joy.

To be honest, I found the human acolytes boring as hell in the Ninja Tribunal arc, especially Tora and Feraghi. Joy and Adam got a bit more personality, but nowhere near enough to make me care. So even if we have them reappear and give them more character and background, I would consider it too little too late.

It wouldn't be too late at all, mainly because there's a lot of potential for those characters.

They fought with the turtles in probably their biggest battle yet. They all survived, together. So naturally, friendships would be formed.

It would be great to have the acolytes on the show again, even if they do not appear together.

My problem was that we were supposed to care when the human acolytes supposedly kicked the bucket, but at that point they had so little personality, it didn't have any effect on me. Heck, it hardly affected the turtles. So giving them character development later doesn't change the fact for me that their death scenes where incredibly hollow to me. That's what I meant that it's too little, too late.

Oh come on... I cared. I was bawling when Joy went "Raphael! Avenge me!" Gah! That was major sad....One moment they were flirting and next BAM! she's killed!

As for it not effecting the turtles? I'd say the deaths did. Raphael avenged Joy "That was for you, Joy" and Don built that Taxi in memory of Adam (who's brother drove taxi's in Miami).

The Big Bad 03-13-2008 07:23 AM

By the way, you guys? It's "Joi", not "Joy". The official spellings for the acolytes are "Joi", "Faraji", "Tora", and "Adam", as seen in 4Kids' TMNT Blog.

It's been shown in comics, and in the old toon, hinted at in the movies. Don's crushed on girls how many times so far? What's bad if Raph liked a girl, even if she'd be a really good friend, a spar partner even?

Ahhh you guys I'm playing! That's why I added silly smilies to my post!

The deaths did feel a little hollow but there were bits to show the guys cared. They formed bonds of friendship, all of them did, I'd think they'd at least shed tears for the fallen when they had a moment.

Im spelling the name Joy. I don't care what some 4Kids blog says. Till I see how to spell her name on the official site it's Joy. Joi is just the French spelling of the name. I suppose it fits since her surname is Reneau but still. I prefer the Joy spelling. *shrugs* Interesting tho that she has a French name. All that's known about her is that she has an aunt who lives in Japan.

Interesting note: Joy's aunt is from Kumamoto, Japan. Which was home to Miyamoto Musashi, the inspiration for Miyamoto Usagi (aka Usagi Yojimbo)! :D

Revan 03-13-2008 10:33 AM

Is that her last name? Reneau? I thought I heard it pronouced two different ways.

Good God, no. :dead: If 4 kids is that desperate to a magical-generic-asian-technicolor-totemistic strike force, let them do a spinoff series having nothing to do the with the turtles.
