New cartoon will be on DVD
My friend told me the new series will be on a dvd released by artisan? I s this true?
No, Artisan owns the rights to the old show.
It's the old show that's going to be released on DVD.
Do u know when the DVD will be released?
Yeah does anybody know?
Man I hope it gets released soon!
As do i. I have been buying the old ones on tape but dvd would be much better. and every time i download them off kazaa like 1 out of every 10 works and i get mad :-?
I only hope they do box sets of each season, like how they did with The Simpsons Of coarse, Season 1 can easily fit into one disc.
They probably won't take such a risk. If the DVD sells, they will probably put out more. Well If it is the first season I will definetly buy it.
If Transformers and Simpsons can do Season Sets i don't see why TMNT can't It was more ppopular then both of those shows.
Well I guess they can, but I just don't belive it. And they didn't release all simpons at once.
Yeah, only the first and second seasons have been sold. I hope they release Seasons 3 and 4 this year.
Well I hope they would give info on that TMNT DVD. I really hope it's that first season and not some random episodes.
Yeah. They should start with just the first season and see how it does if it does awesome then release the others kinda of close together like a couple months apart. Er i just hope they do it soon.

I don't see any risk involved here. TMNT is out again. Now it's time to not only satisfy the new generation but also the older generation of the old toon lovers! |
The DVD(s) is (are) supoosed to be released sometime this year. I posted a link to the story some time ago, if anyone remebers. I'll try to find it again.

I doubt they would release them all at once. If they sold it together as one set, it would cost too much $ meaning less customers. If they sold all of them seperate at once, it would be pick and choose, and people would end up getting frustrated or only getting certain things and leaving the rest. If they release it season by season, stalling each time, they can get the maximum amount of money, because people will be able to save up, and the stores will have them when they have the $. I personally would like it if they release it season by season. I dont mind waiting since i have all the eps anyways.
I'm sure they will release the old show soon though. I mean super mario got a cartoon dvd, so did gijoe, and many other misc. not as popular toons. Although I have to disagree with tmnt being more popular than transformers or simpsons. At the time tmnt was released it could have been the most popular, but 4 years before tmnt transformers was pretty damn huge, and simpsons have probably have more fans and popularity considering it's been going strong for more than 10 years... Tmnt is my favorite of course, but some people probably don't think it's the most popular. Damn them though right ;) |
Yeah, and if they won't release Simpons all at once, it's safe to say that won't probably happen with TMNT either.
this is how i see it
season 1 and 2...to be released together then comes season3 then 4 and so on... |
I would totally buy it.

Alright, that settles it! I'm going job hunting all this week now! |
I'll only buy the first DVD if it contains the 5 episode miniseries. Serials rock and despite TMNT being a cartoon, the first 5 episodes were much more serious and story oriented, with the humor flowing from it, than any of the following seasons. If you watch the last episode of season 1, "The Shredder is Splintered," and the first episode of season 2, "Return of the Shredder" the artistic style, humor, and tone are much lighter.

so happy
That makes me happy. I am sick of watching dl'ed copies with subtitles and fuzzy old worn out tapes. BRING ON THE TURTLES!
Actually...I agree the first five were a bit darker than the rest...but a lot of neat things came out of the following 9 years...and they're worth watching. Release them all to DVD (i'm going to have to start saving now.) Shadow J. |

Oh, for Pete's sake! It was a cartoon, it was SUPPOSED to be kid friendly!
The whole show could have been darker like the First season.
The first season was hardly what I would call 'dark'.
No, but I said darker.
I don't care which season it is, I'm still buying them ALL!

Fact = something that can be PROVEN Opinion = something that CANNOT be proven, i.e. something of personal taste only In short, saying that only the first season was worth watching is an OPINION. |
No one said that... Only that the feel of the show changed. To better or worse, thats a matter of opinion.
Man Not Anoather I Hate The Old Cartoon Thread. I Don't care what you didn't like or its not dark enough. Geez it was the best cartoon it rocked there was nothing wrong about it. If you want Darker Turtles you got your Mirage Comic and the New Cartoon to rave about but don't bash the cartoon on what you wanted or thought how it was supposed to be.
You are the only that has said it in this thread. The guy just said that the series changed after the first season. And it did.
I mentioned this in the last TMNT on DVD thread. To see the way Artisan may release TMNT and other cartoons, look at how they're doing their upcoming release of Speed Racer.
It contains the first 11 episodes and is called volume one. I believe TMNT will get the same treatment. At least the first 5 episodes. |
Let's hope so!
