TMNT Voice Actors

Has any one here ever met the TMNT voice actors before in person? Or seen what they look like. I always wonder about the voices behind the characters that I love and what they look like for some reason or what their real voices sound like. So has any one ever met the guys to voice the turtles? Tell me about your experiences?

TMNT4kids 03-28-2008 12:10 AM

They are all very nice people in my experience.

Revan 03-28-2008 12:28 AM

I just wish I could see an interview with Renae. She is the only VA I have never seen or heard from in person.

Considering the humungo crush I had on April, I don't think that's too much to ask.

Roseangelo 03-28-2008 01:07 AM

I've met Rob Paulsen and Townsend Coleman.

I have never seen a photo of Jim Cummings. Does anyone have one?

I desperately want to meet Rob Paulsen. He's my favorite voice actor on the face of this place. He does all my favorite characters, him and Jim Cummings yes. ^^

Guitar_Raph 03-28-2008 08:32 AM

I met Rob Paulsen when he & Maurice LaMarche were signing autographs @ a WB store in Houston, Texas for Pinky & The Brain!

It would be so cool if I ever met Wayne Grayson! Wonder what he thinks of Mikey/Turtle Titan drumming?

Ditto, just ditto. I'd love to actually meet Rob. I just hope I don't come off like a goober. I've e-mailed Pat Fraley a couple of times. He's a very nice guy. Very personable.

Buslady 03-28-2008 10:06 AM

i've only seen pic of john campbell and he don't look like someone who'd be voicing big tough raph! i'd like to meet 'im tho; add his autograph to the raph collection

I did as well. Only it was in Boston, and I was pretty star struck at the time, and didn't ask them too many things. Just couldn't work up the nerve.

I also met Mike Sinternicklaus and got his autograph (eventually) at a convention last year. We actaully got into a conversation about how the Japanese liked the older turtles series, and started talking about the OVA serires as well.

ToTheNines 03-28-2008 10:25 AM

That's pretty cool, there's like 7 parts.

Then if you get season 5 of the OT, there's a good interview with those dudes.

**snort** you look like a little kid Roseangelo!!

I have never met any of the turtle actors from any version T_T but I would really love to. I know what most of the voice actors look like in the new toon and I've seen some interviews with them and they all seem like really nice and funny down to earth people. Besides...I think Sam Reigal (Don's voice actor) is kinda cute, so I would really like to meet him

here is Sam Reigal. Am I alone in thinking he's kinda cute :tlove:

No, I agree 100% he's cute for sure :)

Scandia 03-28-2008 05:56 PM

I saw Veronica Taylor's panel at AFO a couple years ago. Of course, I was not watching the 2k3 series back then. She mainly focused on Pokemon.

Here's a short video of Jim Cummings talking about voice acting though he does talk about his work on the Ninja Turtles.

why was my topic moved over here? :ohwell: Actually I asked this in regards to the voice actors of the cartoon on 4kids. I recently saw a picture of the guy who voices Leo in the show. He doesn't look how I would expect the voice of Leo's actor to look :-?

And that picture of Don actor is something else. Oh my gosh he looks so young. :o How old is the Don's actor supposed to be, like 26 or something? Actually so does Leo's voice actor. I thought for sure these guys where in their thirties or early forties or something, but I guess not.

where did you meet these guys Rose?

For people who have met the turtles actors in person (of any cartoon) do their natural voices sound anything like their character voices? Which actor do you think sounds the furthest from his characters voice?

I have not met them but I can tell you that Barry Gordon sounds almost exactly like Don, Paulsen sounds like Raph mabey not as high pitched, Clarke sounds like a grown up Leo and Coleman sounds nothing like Mike.

Jelly Bean 04-15-2008 01:40 AM

these guys are from the 80's cartoon right? What about the actors that voice the turtles in the 4KIDS cartoon?

hahaha I wish someone sounded like that in real life.

I think Sam Reigal (Don's actor) and Mike (Leo's actor) sound very much like the characters they voice. John Campell (Raph) and Wayne Grayson (Mikey) sound in my oppinion pretty diffrent from the turtles they voice.

in Sam and Mike's case I think Sam while voicing Don pitches his voice a little higher and makes a bit geekier than his own speaking voice. Mike while voicing Leo I feel softens his voice and pitchs it slightly higher, but over all they both sound the same.

With John Campell his natural speaking voice is much diffrent its not nearly as deep or gruff sounding as Raph's voice, John's voice much clearer sounding and lighter than Raph, and nice he sounds like a pretty laid back guy. So except for certain inflections John sound nothing like Raph.

With Wayne Grayson I think he sounds the most diffrent from the turtle he voices out of all of them. Seriously he sounds nothing like Mikey at all. Like John I think his natural voice is much clearer and lighter sounding and much less raspy and scratchy than when he does Mikey's voice, and well...adult sounding, heh.

I think it is funny that in both toon Michaelangelo voice requires the most characterisation from their actors than the other turtles who pretty much use their own voices with some minor alterations to it.

As a freshman in high school, I had a friend who sounded like classic 'toon Mike. And, he looked like Kurt Cobain. Everybody though he was 10 years older than he actually was.

Sinterniklaas sounds alot like Leo, but more freindly.

Campbell/Frankson sounds nothing like Raph.

Grayson sounds nothing like Mikey.

I've never heard Regal talk, but he looks like he has Don's voice.

Leonardo Mystic 04-16-2008 08:20 PM

I've met Mike Sinterniklaas, Wayne Grayson and John Campbell all at one point or another in the last two years and got their autograph. John was a first for everyone last year that attended AnimeNext. That was so cool. ^^

Mike's a blast to hang out with. He loves talking with his fans and spending time with them. He's a bit of a geek and loves tech toys like cameras, computers, etc. He always has something that he's constantly playing with. He's sort of goofy too in that he likes to be silly. Look up some of the videos where he's messing around. He's funny.

Townsend was at Comic-Con in 2006 (for the Tick, which was just coming out on DVD) and Rob is at Comic-Con every year. That picture is from last year.

Does any one know who does the voice of Splinter in the cartoon version on 4KIDS? What is he he like?

Sage Ninja 04-17-2008 03:29 PM

The guy who does the voice of Splinter is Darren Dustin, and suprisingly he is a young guy instead of an old one. That was actually a shocker to me. :o

I think this is what I like about voice over actors. Most of them seem like really nice down to earth unpretentious people who love interacting and being social with their fans. They are like regular people with just really cool jobs :P I would really like to meet these guys some day.

I once went to a function and some of my favorite soap opras actors where there and most of them where nice but there where a few that after meeting them I felt disapointed because they wheren't exactly nice, and it kind of ruined it for me. :ohwell:

I agree. We seem to have the same taste :D

Jelly Bean 04-25-2008 02:18 PM

how come they got such a young guy to voice Splinter? They couldn't get an actual older man to do it? :ohwell:

I'm not saying that Darren Dustin does a bad job, I like how he voices Splinter I'm just suprised they gave the role to a young actor. :ohwell:

gobo 04-25-2008 02:33 PM

Please, let's call Mr. Dunstan by his actual name. I know you were just following Sage's example, so don't take it too personally, Ms. Bean.

Sage Ninja 04-27-2008 11:23 PM

sorry I guess I did have his name spelled wrong :(

Can some one tell me who does the voice of Chaplin in the new toon?

Also if some one can tell me who does the voice of Shreeka in Shreeka's Revenge?

wubat36 04-27-2008 11:52 PM

Didn't Corey Feldman do a voice of one of them? I've never met him though.

Eartha Kitt provides the voice of Shreeka.

Jelly Bean 04-28-2008 12:35 PM
