well this is the most stylistic example of April and Casey I think. I can definitely see some of the movie influence creeping in (Casey's outfit, Aprils face and super thin build).
I get Casey for sure I can picture him fighting with the guys...April I dunno what it is, I think I just need to see her in motion. I said in the 4kids blog thread that she is cute but she is a much different April to me...? That also may only make sense to me :lol:

I like Casey he's not all that differnt.
But boy oh boy I don't think we'll be seeing April fight any time soon, she'd break to easy!:lol:
It'll be over all, the new series is sort of becoming like the Mirage comics, by that I mean there's a differnt artist or style ever couple of issues.
So if you think about it that way it's really not that bad.
I liked how April looked before much more though, she just looked sweet, now she looks like she could be a stuck up valley girl.:ohwell:

Have to wait and see how the show is with it's new style. From the picture I'd say Casey is equally good in both aspects (2k3 and Back to the Sewers), but I like 2k3 April more (though Back to the Sewers April is alright).

Yeah, she looks younger...after what 5 years she's aged backwards? She looks like a teen herself.

I thought the original designs were way better. More realistic. And april's back crack and midriff! *shivers* :o 2k3 april was awesome.

Casey looks too NICE.

April is too thin and looks like a little girl.

I like the look. I mean, I don't mind it. There are things I like more and things I like less. I'm glad Casey is out of those goofy track pants and into some jeans. For some reason, that always bugged me. Casey does looke kinda "nice" though as some of you guys said, but I'll leave that up to how they portray the character. I'll be fine once I see him go nuts on some purple dragons.

April does look kinda young, but other then that I don't really mind the look. It works for me.

I like the 2k3 april over this one (she looks too young for her supposed age and I liked april's shape in the 2k3 cartoon. She looked realistic. She was skinny..but athletic. she wasn't just a stick. She had more of an acutal woman's shape, I think.) ...but I don't mind the art so much. It's better than I thought it was gonna be.
The only thing I'm worried about is the turtles. I really liked them in the 2k3 version. They looked...real? maybe. I dont know...I liked how detailed it was and how gritty it looked, I guess. I don't know how to explain it. But, I liked their animation for the 2k3 the best. And I liked their build. Ninja's should be skinnier...but I liked that they looked buff. They work out ALOT...and for what...15 years? They should be buff.Plus it goes with the fact that they are supposed to be powerful and strong. I wasn't a fan of the skinny turtles in the movie. and I wasn't a fan of the turtles in FF. I liked raph shorter than donnie and leo (like he was in 2k3) and they seemed skinny in FF...stretched out sort of. If the turtles look somewhat like april and casey..but still have their normal bodies (buff and not gumbi like)...I'll be cool with it.

I wouldn't say she looks younger it's just a completely different style.

Casey is fine. He looks pretty much the same.

April is NOT. She does not look like the 2k3 April we know and love. She almost looks like a totally different person. Not to mention younger.

I like Casey I think his design is good. My only complaint about April is that she looks flat chested now :o

i hate them like that, first of all caseys too buffed, and second, april is a carrot top! i mean come on! i hate their look like that, they should have just kept it the way it was, just mix it around a little from original design, but come on! everything just flipped! (pisses me off man, it pisses me off lol) and is it just me or is that a pipe in caseys pack? wierd.

Casey's hair is too "neat" for me. I kinda want him to have the messy hair from 2k3. It suits him better IMO.

April, I think I'll get used to her new design in time. Her pink hair did annoy me in 2k3 at first, but then it grew on me. I suspect it will be the case here as well.

I think the color on your tv is wrong, she didn't have pink hair.


And they both look closer to their movie versions, and since that's seems to be the idea I don't have a problem with it.

Totally agree with you. Why can't they just keep the damn 2k3 look. The lair doesn't even look good. Lets just hope the actual show is better than FF.

From what I can gather it will be somewhat of a return to what we were used to. Sure, the animation style is a bit different but we dont' know anything yet. Marty McFly made a good point about how this new season is the "JLU" of tmnt. Give it a chance

I don't get much of a Bruce Timm vibe myself, but we'll see. I think Casey looks fine and April has a "anime" face. But it could work. I'm down for a new coat of paint on the characters myself.

Hopefully the turtles don't look stupid, that'd be my key concern.

Well. Just think this folks. At least April doesn't look like the design for the proposed WB series that never got off the ground. You know....the series where April and Casey were teenagers....where Casey kinda looked Asian...

true, I remember that april. she was almost ugly looking. the turtles on the other hand were awesome! All in all though, it wouldn't trade the april and casey we got for the current series for the proposed WB designs even though those designs had sweet turtles.

So, I lighten my hair a few months ago and so does April?

April looks very flat and 2D. And I am not just talking about her chest- though that does contribute to the new design making her look way too young. She looks like a totally different person. I truly hope they decided to keep the older design.

EDIT- And I just realized that April's head is NOT proportionate to the rest of her body. Another thing that is making her look so young. 2k3 and 1987 cartoon Aprils had the proportions of adults.

I'm not very fond of either drawings - I think they're Way too stylized, April looks like an anorexic teenager and Casey looks like he wouldn't last a minute on his own - but I will wait until I see other drawings. Remember, some of the pictures we saw from the development stages of the show don't look quite like how they draw the characters now...

personally I don't mind how the Casey and April look. I like the fact that they softened April's hair color to a orange red rather than flamboyant blood red. It hardly looked natural. Also it looks like they have made April complexion look more beige colored rather than pasty white, she looks more of an out doorsy girl than some one who doesn't get out much. She does look rather young and to skinny but I like that her midriff isn't showing any more.

Casey looks ok and I like that hius hair is no longer dark gray, seriously I was always WTF about Casey's gray hair color. Although my only complaint is that Casey kinda looks like Kronk from the Emperor's New Groove :-?

I liked April's milky white skin. Her hair color was unnatural, but I liked the contrast.

And I have been getting the image of a bobblehead when I see the new April design. Truly seems disproportionate. By now April is pushing 30- so why would she not have the proportions of an adult?
