And Yes this is fact, my source is very credible (they want to remain anonymous though for now anyway).
I know some of you still will not believe them, and that's fine that's your choice.
We're just trying to inform you now, so you fans are in the know and not in the dark.

I don't think I get the reference.

And yes, I do get it. I hope I don't have to get to Stage 46, though. It might get messy.

IamtheKnight 10-14-2008 02:50 PM

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Why must my favorite show end? Why God? Why must God punish us?! :(

Well if by God you mean 4Kids Executives, Playmates Toys Executives, Gary Richardson, & Peter Laird then I couldn't tell ya.
Perhaps they're tired of loosing money on their tired ideas, but that's just my guess.
It's their own fault really when your to stubborn to see the the forest burning down in front of you.

Don't blame him, blame 4Kids, or........someone else.

ToTheNines 10-14-2008 02:57 PM

I saw it coming, but now that you've confirmed it it's pretty depressing. Oh well, it'll come back someday.

I swear, I was half-expecting the Turtles to face THE ASTLEY SHREDDER.

But alas, no.

..Still, that was a really cruel pun nevertheless

At least there going out on their terms, with a major tying up of everything past, present, and something more.

My sources tell me to blame it on the rain and the boogie.

VaughnMichael, I love the fact that you started this thread out with a cavalier joke, knowing how seriously some people will take this news.

It's a children's action cartoon that's run for seven seasons and will get a conclusive ending. That's unheard of. And it's not like we'll never see another Turtles show.

Kunoichi_Haruko 10-14-2008 03:00 PM

This. Sucks. Horribly.

*cries*

Fitting, since I'm never gonna give The Turtles up.

I'm not sleeping now that it's gone

Heh. It is a pretty good song. Wasn't expecting that...

gobo 10-14-2008 03:26 PM

I'm skeptical... but, I wouldn't be surprised if this is true. All things must come to an end sooner or later.

hah yes indeed thank you, The person just doesn't want to be known but wants the facts to be given to the fans, which I can totally understand.

He'll be your brother too if he wins MTV's "Best Act Ever" award.

Drtooth 10-14-2008 03:33 PM

Well, there goes saturday friggin' morning. Not even one more season. Boy, we're gonna have a lot of crap that's left unfinished.

Some friggin 25th anniversary this turned out to be. And I doubt the movie's gonna happen.

Maybe I'm just not high up enough on the totem poll - but this is news to me (and the shows production coordinator and producer...)

But who knows how things will pan out, eh?

We still have plenty of episodes to go this season - and of course that other thing. So there is still plenty to look forward to.

Just posting what I was told by a big wig, I'm sure you can understand though for me not sharing names as I wouldn't want anyone to lose a job.
Hey I hope they're wrong, it's not like I don't want more TMNT.

Ditto.

Plenty of people have been on this production for years, and every time a season ends it's "Ok this is it... well... MAYBE 1 more." and here we are 7 seasons in.

Regardless of if the show ends I am absolutely sure the TMNT will continue on in one form or another (besides the comics).

Cool, perhaps like the S said fan reaction to this News will get the higher ups thinking and they will see how much people care.
I'd like at least one more season after this, but that's just me.

Buslady 10-14-2008 03:55 PM

honestly, i wont miss it. it hasn't been good since the tribunal, after that...feh!

I *do* hope they're wrong but ..whatever happens, happens.

TMNT's renaissance may just be coming to another end.

(but not with me!!!!)

X 10-14-2008 03:58 PM

If this show ends, like I said, I am done with 4Kids.

What else do they have that matters? Reruns of Sonic X? Sorry got all the DVD's. Chaotic? Just another TCG turned cartoon. Winx? Yea... Viva Pinata? My care for anything VP starts and ends with the games only.

This show has the legs to stick around for a very long time, and there are plenty of ideas thrown around here, I'm sure people wouldn't mind being borrowed.

HOWEVER! What if next season is called, "The End," and it simply refers to something that has to do with an end, but not the show itself?

I guess I am just hoping, but with the great balance season 8 has had so far, I would find it really crappy for it to end after 26 episodes (assuming season 9 is only 13.)

I really wanted this show to pass the old toon.

EDIT: Well it is a given TMNT4kids, that the show will go on, but sort of like Transformers does, it gets redundant. In every TF cartoon we're always reintroduced to another Optimus Prime and Megatron. Megatron always becomes Galvatron, and so on. The reason I don't want this show to end, is because if it ever comes back, we have to go through origins again, and the process repeats. Since you are on the staff, I hope you guys can keep saying, "well just 1 more," time and time again until there are no more stories to tell. If anything, bring on fresh writers.

Suspicion confirmed. It's something going down at Mirage. Otherwise, someone at 4K would be hip to it.

I'm sure you're higher ups will convince them otherwise, and we'll see something else eventually. I just hope that's the case.

That said, 7 seasons of 100+ episodes is totally unheard of. You're lucky to make it beyond 52 production cap episodes nowadays.

VaughnMichael 10-14-2008 04:02 PM

X,
TMNT : The End is a name I made up for my blog post, just so you know.

You DO realize Vaugh was being sarcastic with that title right? Yeesh...

And if MIRAGE are grinding the axe, that's ironic, but again, allows them to go out on their own terms

Rooish 10-14-2008 04:06 PM

Whatever. We've had an amazing run. And we have the DVD releases. This show has given us tons of great moments, and 1 billion percent better character development than the old toon. I'm just happy we got what we do have.

Don't worry, folks. They'll be back. And we do have the comics!

Ninjinister 10-14-2008 04:08 PM

While I'd be naive to think the 4Kids series would run forever (although I wish it could at least reach a heavyweight status of a few more seasons under its belt), I'd like to see it at least run through their anniversary. It seems ludicrous to promote the Hell out of the Turtles, only to cancel the TV series. It's doing all right in ratings (though it could be better), and heck, even Fast Forward is doing reasonably well.

Indeed we will, but don't forget Peter Laird said he's ending volume 4 and that Tales of the TMNt volume 2 is up in the air but will continue through 2009.

Anarky 10-14-2008 04:09 PM

You've also made the news...

Archon_Turtle 10-14-2008 04:10 PM

It's the Circle of Life
And it moves us all
Through despair and hope
Through faith and love
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the Circle
The Circle of Life

All Lion King references aside. The turtles will go away for like 5 years, and then have a relaunch. As is the way with all things. Entertainment companies don't need to dream up new concepts when they can just release the same thing a few years later to a new wave of kids.

Noted Vaugn.

Anyhow Rooish, the thing about cartoons is, it doesn't cost me 4 bucks a month to keep in touch with my favorite brand.

Another thing that is crazy about getting into comics, is that someone like me who has never read any of the Mirage/Image comics, and only Archie, I wouldn't know what is going on since the continuity has been there for years and years.

That is why I don't read comics, and want this show to continue in cartoon form, as those comics have for many years.

TMNT4Kids, if you guys have no control over what is happening, try and convince Mirage otherwise. This show has been on the best cartoons ever, and one that many could easily get into for the subject matter at times. If someone can look at this show in the spirit of shows like Lost, Heroes, and others, in terms of storytelling and continuity, you've done something right.

I am proud the show has lasted this long, but it could still be so much more. Here's hoping the next season really isn't the last.

EDIT: WAIT A MINUTE - WAIT A MINUTE!!! Vaugn you made it sound as though there would be at least one more season. This blog is saying THIS SEASON, is the last... Which is it?

-X-

Can I just say I shouldn't have been surprised at all? The toy line looks like Kevorkian's on the call....

Oh well, there's always... uhhhh.... sleeping in I guess.

Cure 10-14-2008 04:41 PM

Well, this show sure had a good run, anyway. I'll be happy if they wrap everything up well and whatnot. I'd rather see it end then have it go on forever with crappy stories.

Leonardo19 10-14-2008 04:49 PM

This is sad news but I hope Mirage will end up doing something like this next:

http://www.hisstank.com/gi-joe-news/...nel-sdcc-7512/

I think that the 25th Ann. of GI joe has been great. It didn't have a cartoon to support it but the new toy line is doing very well and continued on.

But for the TMNT 25th Ann. to have a great toyline Playmates would have to not be controlled by morons.

Just hopes.

Eiko 10-14-2008 04:57 PM

the Turtles will live on everything has to come to an end but i will always love the turtles Turtle Power for ever.:tcool::tcool::tgrin::tgrin:

Drtooth 10-14-2008 05:16 PM

Still... a cancelled comic book, a cancelled cartoon series, and a Doomed toy line is much better than what the Inspector Gadget fans got for his 25th... a single disk DVD with 3 lousy episodes on it that was pulled.

It's a shame. I liked the cover that toated "Over a half hour of FUN!!!!"
