So whats the bottom line on the future of TMNT BTTS?

I like to know from rumors or from Dan if the series is going to continue. I for one would be deeply hurt and miss the series. For some reason I really like the toughness and story it gives us. I just hope we can get some more life out of it before its time is over.

Im sure almost all of us is wondering whats going on? First 4kids now what?

ZariusTwo 11-29-2008 02:58 PM

There's several threads about this. Look 'em up.

Coola Yagami 11-29-2008 07:54 PM

If they get rid of Cyber Shredder and restore Splinter... where do they go from there?

Everything was hunky dory at the end of Season 5 and they still managed to continue it.

CyberCubed 11-29-2008 10:51 PM

The powers that be would negotiate for a new direction again, whatever that is. Assuming the show continues.

Mandi-chan 11-30-2008 09:02 AM

I think they should put this series out of its misery if you ask me...has been nothing but a huge disappointment since the first ep of FF!

Not everyone feels that way. As I re-read through all the past review threads, you have more people who liked the new episodes than dislike.

It is a step-down from 2k3 I will agree, but the show is still enjoyable.

There the same shmucks who rate any episode highly...and they lost all credibility with the adulation for the abysmal "Superquest"

kerfootw 11-30-2008 03:40 PM

It's most likely going to end in February. The Goliath Chronicles (the spinoff to Gargoyles) aired their 11th episode on the last day of November in 1996 and they didn't return until Feb. 8 and 15 to air their 12th and 13th final episodes. That'll be pretty much the direction BTTS is going in.

As a screenwriter I can easily say that if a writer cannot find new material, then they do not need to be writing.

Let's use the old toon as an example shall we? None of those episodes were really based - if at all - on the Mirage comics. Yet there was ten seasons, and some 190+ episodes made. It really is simple, and even that show could've gone on, had it held interest.

The thing is, back in those days, myself included, started growing up, driving cars, chasing females, and just forgot TMNT existed. Well some of us at least.

With this show, most of us are grown up, and watch it because we are fans. We've settled down for the most part, and for us that still like to party, we still like to get our TMNT fix, and know it is there.

Point is however, that any writer can come up with new material, hell, I came up with ideas that 4Kids could freely use in coming up with new arcs, without having to use some theme as a basis for each season. It really isn't hard at all, IF the writer is good, and has a good imagination.

I will reiterate my statement however. The only usefulness 4kids has provided was putting TMNT back on the map, airing the show, and toys coming out for me to purchase in support of the brand (got to show the love somehow,) but if they say, "oh this show is doing good in ratings, but we're not happy enough can it," then they can expect people to can any notion of watching CW4kids. I mean what else is there? Some crappy card battling shows like Chaotic and Yu-Gi-Oh? Dinosaur King? My own son loves Dinosaurs but still has no interest in a show like that. TMNT is their trump card, and it still pulls decent ratings. One million viewers is nothing to scoff at, and that doesn't include non-nielsen households such as my own (however Nielsen does send me paper forms to fill out stating what I watch and TMNT is the only cartoon placed in that Saturday morning slot.)

I guess only time will tell, and hopefully we get some more info from the 4Kids rep. Good info that is. If not, it's been a nice run, but if the only cartoon I care about on that station is gone, no reason to stick around watching stuff that doesn't interest me.

Hmmm... Good show TMNT4Kids, good show.

So with that little hint, and a damn fine hint at that, as an idea like "The Shredder Wars," seems like something that would be really interesting. I am guessing a couple of things.

In Tempus Fugit when Khan stated he had gotten rid of the TMNT, and the three Shredders were fighting, wasn't even from this season.

If so, that gives us a lot to look forward to actually. So it remains to be seen how Ch'rell somehow makes a comeback, and the Tengu Shredder, and not withing the confines of the last couple of episodes.

This could be something really good. It stays within the confines of BttS, so no more odd crap (one could hope,) instead opting for a theme within the current season.

I like it.

You have brought me hope, and as long as TMNT is on the air, and if anything comes out Ican buy, I will do so to keep this kickass show on the air. That is assuming that hint you dropped is the arc for next season. Can't wait.

Wait a minute, my guess is "The Shredder wars" could possibly be what that DTV is about....given it comes out after the season ends...

A lot of people, such as myself, really hated that episode. So far I've enjoyed most of BTTS... I just have major problems with the concepts being bigger than their execution. I mean, the idea of the Turtles brainwashed to work with the foot really could have opened up something much better than they had. The only 2 episodes I didn't like were Superquest and Shrinking Serling... and that one was mostly screwed up because of the annoying Baby Turtles. But it goes with what I'm talkin about... a displaced Serling screwing up the time continuum could have been prime for a bigger adventure, and a window into something terrible happening...

But instead, they had to have the Obsessive Compulsive toy collector and Baby Turtles running about, doing something that would have fit perfectly, and much better done at that with the OT.

I feel so far we've had a half decent show... only half the episodes were good.

Don't kill the hope of those who would like to see this in season form.

Plus if I remember right, they said that this DTV movie had nothing to do with the current TV show.

LET IT BE ANOTHER SEASON!!!

For the last time there is no next season.
Someone prove me wrong and confirm that there is one, I don't see anyone able to do that.

Well right now there is no next season, but its always possible they could change their minds.

I'm hoping when Pete officially confirms the 5th movie he's been talking about, it'll convince 4kids to continue the show to take advantage of the merchandize sales from the new movie, like they did with the 2007 one.

VM, you remind me of another internet-goer that some people on here (mostly from Toon Zone and Arlong Park, but he was on other boards doing this) might know: RomanMack.

When his favorite show, One Piece, was thought to have been absolutely finished in the US, he gradually changed from a respected member to someone who would crush ANY optimism. He made comments like yours against anyone who hoped for more episodes, despite the fact that there was nothing saying it was outright finished in the US. Eventually, he became a bit too obsessed with his raid against such thoughts, and became...well, he just wasn't exactly liked for it, I'll just say that much.

What I'm basically trying to say is that NONE of the previous seasons (except obviously the first) were announced this soon after the broadcast season's start. You have not cited any official sources saying that there will absolutely be no new season, your "inside source" has not been identified or even backed up, and even the 4Kids rep that goes on this board has no idea what you're talking about.

The only thing I agree with in this whole thing is that you're right in that you have nothing to gain in starting a rumor, except attention. But unless there's a reason why the next season should be announced when 4KIDS HASN'T EVEN PLANNED ANYTHING YET FOR THE 2009-2010 SHOWS, it'd be appreciated if we wait for someone who works on the staff to come out and say it.

Incidently, Torchwood's got a five episode third season in 2009, so if I want to count the movie as a season, I have enough reason to think that...so there:P

Not doubting you though.

i agree with veemonjosh no this. its true tht no one has confirmed a new season after this one but the same goes the other way that no one has confirmed that there will not be. you seem to ignore what everyone even the 4kids rep says about each season being planned and put into production at the last minut. unless you can cite a credible source that says there is no more seasons happening after this then who are you to say that there will or will not be? you could hypothesize but the way you write out what you say makes it suond like you are some sort of authority figure on it all.

Cure 12-02-2008 03:12 PM

How about we all just enjoy the show? If there's gonna be another season, cool. If not, it had a sweet run.

You know Vaugn - and I agree with the other person above who mentioned optimism - you keep talking this yang about there is no next season, and that anyone who can prove it, should feel free to.

Well to that I say, how about YOU prove there isn't another season and this is indeed the end of the TMNT.

By the way, don't use that crap about, oh I have my sources but swore to secrecy, or I cannot talk about it, NDA's, blah-blah-blah.

Until you spill any info you think you know, you know about as much as us. Had I been someone working on this show, I could easily misinform you, and say, "well mister random internet person, we aren't making another season."

Let's say your info is nothing more then educated guesses. You know, 50-50 on there being another season, and not, with your guess being not, only to find out it didn't, so you come back and say you're right.

I guess what I am trying to say bro, is you sure are keeping quiet with the info, or is it you don't have any to give?

If I am wrong, I am wrong, but somehow you are rubbing off to me as a person who thinks they know a lot, but could end up burying their head in the sand when there infact is another season.

Just my opinion anyway, but for all the times you say there won't be, I - at least - haven't seen you prove its demise. Feel free to show me if you can.

Roseangelo 12-02-2008 06:10 PM

I could cite a source that says there is no next season (actually, I could cite two). But then I'd have to kill you.

People can choose to believe or not. But anyone demanding a source is going to have to live unsatisfied. That kind of information is shared with a certain understanding of trust and I know I speak for Vaughn as well as myself that your need to know is not more important to me than the continued trust of people I consider to be friends. Live with your optimism if you must, but show me where Vaughn or myself has ever purposely mislead anyone about anything for any reason.

Thank you Rose, Seriously why would 2 of the biggest TMNT fans around lie to you people.
The 4kids rep just said in another thread finally that there isn't going to be another one.
Like I said to everyone I'm hoping that Murphy will shed some light on the subject soon as I know everyone will believe him.

I don't doubt your wrong on the matter but no source is still no source. Just like in court its hard to convince someone of something when you have no evidence. You should have know before you informed everyone of the cancellation that not everyone would believe you.

I do know that, I'm also telling you people what I know because I don't want you all dissapointed and b1tching when you've been lied to and made to believe there will be something when there's not.

Jelly Bean 12-02-2008 08:58 PM

meh, I personaly believe Vaughn when he says there isn't going to be a new season. If you don't want to take his word for it you just have to look at all the factors stacked against another season happening. It's not that out of the question that how things stand right now that there won't be another season. I think we can all see the writing on the wall at this point.

Having some semi concrete info that there isn't going to anopther season sort of softens the blow a bit and we can get used to the idea and enjoy what we've got left. If Vaughn is right...well at least he gave us a heads up so we can buffer our selves. If he's wrong well it will be a pleasant surpise to get a new a season when we thought we wheren't going to. And none of us wouldn't really have lost out.

Ninjinister 12-02-2008 09:18 PM

My beef is that just about every other topic that has anything to do with certain factors automatically gets a post from one of you two about the "doom and gloom". And the thing is, you're not wholly to blame, because you have to post that to defend yourself from dullards who "nuh-uh" what you say about the state of things in topics you haven't made any reference to the subject in at that time. It's irritating to constantly run into both, to be honest. Some of you folks may not remember "records", but this is like a broken one. People shouldn't have to repeat themselves over and over.

X 12-02-2008 09:19 PM

Actually there is no optimism coming from me. I just go with the flow.

As I said, if 4kids cans the show, then see ya, wouldn't wanna be ya.

It was a great show, and the only show that got me to watch their channel, and if it's gone, then the channels usefulness has ended.

I've grown to the point where I don't care if it remains on, or it doesn't.

I would like it to remain on, but I won't be begging and pleading for something, if it's that hard to work for, just to instill care into the minds of those that choose not to.

EDIT: By the way Rose, and Vaughn I got an interesting question for you two. Why not break the silence, when you guys have nothing to lose, and those who are ending the show, have nothing to lose in us knowing? I just find it kind of odd, that something like a show ending needs to be so secretive. Care to divuldge any logic in why you say you cannot say anything, but freely tell people on these forums that the show is ending, which is the secret you're trying to keep right?

Mk, well 1. I'm not some crazy fan.
2. I want more seasons and episodes.
3. I'm only saying what I am because more than one respectable person who works closely to the tmnt has told me this.
Take for what you will, everything going to be cleared up very soon.

They don't want a bunch of p1ssed off fans thinking there will be more when there isn't.
But everyone should be very excited for the direct to DVD movie it's going to be amazing.

I do have something to lose as does Rose, it's call real friendship.
The people involved spreading the information also have something to lose called their jobs, homes, and food on the table.
Now I don't think fans would want people to lose such things and have mothers, fathers and children out on the street.
Like I said before the Murphy interview is coming I've been super busy with the Holiday season upon us and he's going to try and touch on this subject if he can. It's all up to what Mirage will allow them to say without burning bridges.

BTW I'm not being negative I'm trying to be informative.
