What are Rock Soldiers?

I looked and didn't see anything, so thought I'd start a thread. I've been working on a custom Rock Soldiers toy that turned into an original character and I finished his personality and then started thinking of how he fits into the TMNT Universe. I looked up Rock Soldiers and used the show/TPB of the first 5 episodes and any other uses of Rock Soldiers I could think of and still have no answer: What are Rock Soldiers?

Here's what I know:
1) They're an army with a rock theme.
2) They work for Krang.
3) Traag is their leader and there's one named Granitor.
4) They work for Krang.
5) Traag was born under a Volcano in Dimension X (this being the most specific thing I've found so far and it's from his toy bio).
6) They're rocks.
7) Did I mention they work for Krang and are rocks? :P

4 of those are pretty much the same thing. If they're used in the Archie comics with more to them, then I wouldn't know because I've been able to read them.

Do we know anything else about them? Like why they work for Krang? Are they made from science or are they an alien race (Traag could be born under eitherway)? Are there females? Do they have a homeworld? If their a race, are they a warlike one or are the Rock Soldiers just a faction? There's just so many things not known (or not on the net) about these guys.

In the episode about Mikey's birthday they mention the rock soldiers are mutated from rocks.

Is that the one where Krang turns 3 of them back into normal rocks? I forgot about that. Thanks.

I always assumed they were part of the waring factions in Dimension X keeping things constantly in peril.

There are indeed female rock soldiers;..... I've seen Rule #34 on Rock Soldiers.

Archon_Turtle 12-18-2008 07:02 PM

Don't you mean erection? Yeah, on second thought never mind. I don't want to think of any rock men with "hard ons."

TheMasterTurtle 12-18-2008 08:29 PM

they've been in an adult film titled "Rock Hard"

They were apparently mutanted from rocks... how the hell does THAT work? How does mutagen mutate something that isn't really alive...?

Ah.. same way Mutagen somehow turned Garbageman and Joe Eyeball into a living mountain of trash and some stem-eyeballed alien thingie...

It can probably just mutate rocks from some Dimension X planets and asteroids, not Earth I suppose.

Oops, forgot I made this thread. Anyways, thanks guys. It looks like there ain't much to them, so I guess I'm good to make up some things.

Muck Man and Joe Eyeball were mutated from a diffent type of mutagen than the turtles and most of the other mutants in the old tv show.

Also it seems to me Muck Man body got mutated into some sticky green substance and the bits of trash are just sticking to his "new" skin. because from looking at the toy it seems the debris is on the surface and not imbedded in his body.

The rock soilders to me seemed to be a alien race allied with Krang.

"Excellent..."

Cipher 01-16-2009 11:43 AM

Now, to answer the question seriously, they're rocks. And soldiers. They're soldiers and also rocks. They're rock soldiers.

Honestly, in the realm of incredibly self-explanatory things, they rank pretty highly.

Chrissie Terrapin 01-16-2009 07:23 PM

I think he was looking a deeper meaning of the rock

I think the match he had with Hulk Hogan was very much about the darkness that exists in all of us, and how even someone who may be our enemy can help us overcome that darkness and return to the good old red and yellow.

Chrissie Terrapin 01-17-2009 05:21 PM

yes of course... wrong rock^^

Maybe "Travelin' Soldier" by the Dixie Chicks (2002) or why not Buffy Sainte-Marie's 1964 song "Universal Soldier" (covered by Donovan in 1965).

Actually, I was under the impression that Rock Soldiers have no families or friends waiting for them back at home, or that they care who they fight for or what the cause is, they have their masters and they take orders because that is their reason for existing. But I could be wrong.
