Some one tell me!

I don't want to read the episode synopsis for fear of spoiling the season plot, so can someone tell me if there are any cool mutants this season or old characters that return later down the road? I don't want names just some verification.

Reznorite420 02-27-2003 03:43 PM

Not that I can see.

Well, if we did give you some verification, wouldn't it be spoiling the season plot?

Verificiation is differen't then spoiling the plot.
It's like if he asked if Shredder would be in this season. Don't tell me the storylines surrounding him, but give me verification if he appears or not.

To answer the question, There will be no mutants as far as I know.

Karpo_007 02-28-2003 12:52 AM

This show won't have mutants like the old one had. I have to repeat myself again... In this cartoon, like in Mirage, the TMNT are something special, not an everyday accident. Therefore, we won't be seeing animal mutants like that[Leatherhead maybe]. But there will be non-human characters.

Anarchistguy 02-28-2003 01:09 PM

You mean like robots and aliens??

Karpo_007 02-28-2003 01:15 PM

Maybe some mutaants too. It is said that foot have a genetics lab...

Peanut 02-28-2003 05:13 PM

Karpo I know that. I'm not asking if there will be an insane amount of crazy mutants. I'm just asking if there will be mutants like baxter's fly form or other favorite characters like Ratking. I knew there wouldn't be tons like the old toon.

Karpo_007 02-28-2003 05:42 PM

There probaby won't be any. Like I said, it is not an everyday acciden't. In original TMNT, it happened oly twice, Turtles+Splinter and Leatherhead. Don't be excpecting many animal mutants.

I'm not too sure if this is considered as a spoiler:
But no, we won't see new stockman being the fly boy...though he WILL come in a slightly different form in later eps. No mention of the Ratking as of yet, at least not in the first season.

Kali 03-02-2003 01:20 PM

There will be quite a few non-human characters on the show. Mostly genetic experiments.

Donatelloz 03-02-2003 01:51 PM

Great! I just hope they dont go overboard like the last toon you know?

Jephael 03-02-2003 01:54 PM

I bet Baxter will be coming back as a cyborg just like in Volume 2 of the comic book.

Donatelloz 03-02-2003 02:16 PM

probably. I hope so I bet the new toon will portray a robot cyborg in a cool way! I love the new toons animation (Even if some people say the turtles look like their pregnant)

Jephael 03-02-2003 02:21 PM

I can tell they're going for the idea that a turtle shell should look more roundish, so they're giving them those sumo guts as I like to call em.

Tetsu Deinonychus 03-14-2003 11:01 PM

The Utroms from the comic will be towards the end of the season. They were the basis for Krang.

Karpo_007 03-15-2003 03:10 AM

Yeah, Krang's looks were copied, but it has been confirmed that Krang is not an Utrom.

Tetsu Deinonychus 03-15-2003 06:13 PM

Confirmed? How so? :-?

azure turtle 03-15-2003 08:21 PM

Peter Laird has said so in a few interviews. I think it's also mentioned somewhere on the official site, but I don't remember where.

Sparvid 03-16-2003 02:19 AM

Krang = Evil alien brain banished from his body, and living in Dimension X.
Utrom = Not so evil aliens, whose entire bodies look like Krangs brain, and lives in another part of our galaxy.

Tetsu Deinonychus 03-16-2003 09:48 PM

I see. While Krang was created as the old cartoon's version of the Utroms, they really are different entities.

Also about old characters in the new cartoon, If I'm not mistaken, Usagi Yojimbo is a mirage character. And has a quite successful independent comic. I wouldn't rule out him making an appearance.

Splinter 03-16-2003 09:51 PM

Someone mentioned Usagi here in the past. If I recall correctly, Usagi was not actually a mirage owned charecter. The license for the charecter is actually owned by someone else. So it's highly unlikely that Usagi will make an apperance. Here's the thread. :)

Usagi Yojimbo "The Rabbit" was an independent comic. Mirage TMNT has had crossovers with Usagi's comic before. In fact the Usagi Yojimbo comic was released by Mirage for a while. So it is not impossible that Usagi Yojimbo will appear in the new show.

2nd of all, not most people know this but panda khan was also a seperate comic, it just didn't suceed like usagi or tmnt despite the toy
and finally, usagi rules! but stan really didn't care for usagi being in the new show, it was just really commerical is why he did it. I'm 99.9% sure stan wouldn't want usagi in the show

Stefano 03-18-2003 01:20 PM

how did the writers of the old show come up with these characters that wernt in the comic. ANd why did they choose to have krang instead of utroms?

lethrhd 03-18-2003 01:24 PM

This ol' gatorman be a thinkin' they needed a supervillan and Shredder had to a' had some way a getting himself all that technology he be a usen.

Stefano 03-18-2003 02:22 PM

good i dea. By the way stop talking like that

lethrhd 03-18-2003 02:33 PM

lol, yea it was getting annoying coming up with Leatherhead speech patterns anyway...

Stefano 03-18-2003 02:55 PM

i bet

Tetsu Deinonychus 03-18-2003 06:19 PM

Your Leatherhead voice was fun at first but it got kind of old.
Oh well :)
I wonder why they rewrote the TMNT origin story, and made Hamato Yoshi and Splinter the same. :-?

Splinter 03-18-2003 07:08 PM

Because, being a children's cartoon they couldn't have someone be murdered in the show. So they altered Splinter's origin, to avoid the sticky problem of Hamato's death. We'll have to see how they handle the murder, in Episde #10 of the new cartoon. :)

Karpo_007 03-19-2003 05:25 AM

Yeah, this is diffrent time, So we can finally see the real origin animated. Of course, the deathblow will probably happen off screen.

Tetsu Deinonychus 03-20-2003 09:41 PM

8) Off screen's more dramatic anyway.
