That works!

I didn't know they were doing archie trades, I've been sorta behind in comics. This was cool to see, even though I have the comics/cartoon I'll preorder this for sure.

Roseangelo 01-27-2009 12:35 AM

After reading the press release more closely I went hunting on Amazon and found this.

The release doesn't specify, but me thinks Archie is the actual publisher of this. Full color and available on Amazon? It's almost too good to be true (but no, I'm definitely not complaining)!

turkishproverb 01-27-2009 12:58 AM

Archie? YAY! Now we just need future reprint volumes.

Ninjinister 01-27-2009 08:40 AM

Woah, 2K3/Archie amalgamation cover art? Full colour? Less than $15? MINE!

Raph's Girl 01-27-2009 11:06 AM

Whoa!! Whoa!! I am SOOOO buying this!!! Only $12!!! Is it May yet?! :o

The info on it says it's Volume ONE.....this means they're gonna make more?! I sure as heck hope so!! It's the original mini, which is some of the few issues of TMNT A I don't have! Awesome sauce!!!

But since it's Vol 1 and Mirage has said they'll be releasing a TPB of the books that are associated with Forever war...Wooh! I wonder if that'll be the next vol??

Buffy 01-27-2009 11:18 AM

Very cool cover art! Me wantie :D

Jester 01-27-2009 11:18 AM

So, what exactly is this, striles me as the original 3 part miniseries, compiled as one book, like it was released by Random House back in the day....not saying I won't get it though...I loved that adaptation, and the audio tape (which I have in MP3 format on my PC.)

Yep... That's what it is. It's the original 3 part mini series in TPB format. Archie is releasing this (not Mirage). And it'll be in comic shops at the beginning of May but news stands (aka grocery stores) at the end of May. Hopefully they'll be selling it at grocery stores around here or maybe even Barnes & Noble. If not then it doesn't matter cuz I'll be buying it either way...

Jester 01-27-2009 11:37 AM

*wonders if his store will carry it...:D*

CyberCubed 01-27-2009 12:06 PM

So technically this isn't the Archie comics original stories, just the comic adaption of the first 5 episodes.

Meh, and here I was thinking this would be good. I already own the three-issue mini-series based on the first 5 eps of the cartoon, did we really need this?

They should have started the adaptions from the Ray Fillet issue, which was the first original story.

Well they're still gonna be releasing TPB's of those and everything else leading up to Forever War in September.

Meh

My thoughts exactly. I really didn't care for these cartoon adaptations. It just ticks me off that sales of this have to be really good if there is to be any hope for Archie to continue in this vein. It's possible they might still have some means of giving us colorized trades of the good issues...

Well you gotta start people off somewhere. Maybe this will be likely to attract more of an audience than starting people with issue 5. Although a lot of people probably know the origin story by now.

Either way, it's cool to see these comics made available again.

Speaking of Forever War, is there any news on it? I remember last year we got a few good tidbits, back at the end of '07 and start of '08. Anything lately?

Expect some in my interview with Murph, I'll have some exclusive first looks at it as well. :)

DrSpengler 01-28-2009 09:57 AM

Well, I guess it's a start. Kinda wish they'd have thrown TMNT Adventures ongoing #1-4 in there, too, just to get ALL the adaptation issues out of the way, but whatever.

Since I own all the individual issues, I can't say I'll be buying these unless they include some bitchin extras or something.

I'd like to know this too.

Not sure what ETA means but I'm just waiting on him to send it back over to me, he's very busy right now making allot of great things happen for the turtles in 2009, as well as getting ready for the NYC Comicon.

Estimated Time of Arrival. Basically, you answered my question.

IamtheKnight 01-28-2009 07:30 PM

The cover looks a lot better than Liongate's DVDs. I can't wait for this to come out.

I feel the same, but it'll be worth picking up solely because money speaks to these peeps. That can only help future volumes :)

Spitfire 01-29-2009 11:57 AM

Awesome I have all the other Archie trades so I gotta get this one. I wonder how many more will be published.

junkboy 01-29-2009 01:17 PM

I am a Mirage-mania-c, so i do not own any Archie stuff. This will be an awesome opportunity for me. I hope some other trades are published as well. Will buy anything that is published.

You MUST purchase all Archie comics and read them, at once :)

LeoNerdo 01-30-2009 09:54 PM

Ill be getting this for sure. About a year ago I picked up the nearly complete Archie run on Ebay. It was just missing a few issues towards the end and then these 3, so I'll be happy to have them in a trade.

Blade Raider 01-31-2009 08:56 PM

I already have two copies of the Random House TPB (Oddly, I lost the tapes to both). Licky for me, both copies are about gone, so I'll be trying to pick this one up. I really hope they reprint the rest. I have only about 5-10 issues and I've been wanting to read the rest.

Jester 01-31-2009 09:28 PM

Blade...want the audio?

Sure, why not. I'm sure it's good for a few laughs.

sdp 02-04-2009 10:15 PM

I'd want the audio too.

Only thing I'd like is for it to have the covers of the issues. I think the Archie Sonic reprints have them. Also will they be digest sized? And the price seems pretty steep. Its only three issues. It'd be cheaper tracking them online..
