TMNT FAQ - Please Read!!!
OK Guys and Gals. The new TMNT has created a lot of traffic and newbies to thetechnodrome.com.
This is the Official FAQ Thread We will try and answer common questions here. I'll add to this post as people post new information. 1) Krang, Bebop, Rocksteady, and the Technodrome are not in the new cartoon, nor will they ever be. 2) There is no Channel 6 News, no Vernon, no Irma, Burne Thompson, etc. April O'Neil is not a news reporter in the new series. 3) There will also be no Zach, Neutrinos, or Rock Soldiers in the new series. 4) In the original comic put out by Mirage, all four turtles wear RED bandanas. 5) If you downloaded a TMNT episode online and you get only audio when playing it, download and install the latest DivX codec. Websites to check out: http://www.ninjaturtles.com/ http://www.foxbox.tv/tmnt/ http://www.ninjaturtles.com/html/faq.htm |
heh
here's an important one for the noobz:
2) In the original comic put out by Mirage, all four turtles wear RED bandanas (and still do). |

I know I'm new but I have to add something that seem's to have been asked about too much in the last few weeks.
4) No there will not be many mutants like the turtles in the new show. (THat means no Baxter as a fly, no frogs, No Slash, etc) |
Okay, enough of the fooling around....
this thread is to HELP the new forum members, NOt confuse them! 8: Moderators help the administrators in the monitoring and maintenance of forums activities on the forums. Always feel free to talk to one of us if you have a question. 9: Spammers and troublemakers are met with no mercy.... |
10. There is no Channel 6 News, no Vernon, no Irma, Burne Thompson, etc. April O'Neil is not a news reporter in the new series.
|
11. There will also be no Zach, Neutrinos, or Rock Soldiers.
|
Good idea, DarthRaph. To do this, though, I would recommend editing your first post in this thread and adding any suggestions that you think are appropriate to it. That way, people won't get confused by the joke suggestions, and they also won't have to read through all the posts to see the entire FAQ. BTW, you can also use the questions posted in this thread:

AHEM:
1) I never said he wasn't an alien in the Archie comics. He's from dimension X 2) You obviously have NEVER seen "Slash: The Evil Turtle From Dimension X" in the old cartoon. What a dippo... |

|
Well he was a mutant in the old cartoon and I think thats what most people would know about. Not how he appeared in the archie comics having never read them.

I've heard about some other rumors and stuff but I mean the new show doesn't have a new mutant for the turtles to fight or team up with in every episode. They are more unique this time around. |
hey, just my two cents, but Slash, was from Dimension X, he was in the episode "Slash, the evil turtle from Dimension X" I recorded the episode many years ago. He was Bebop's pet turtle. Then, in order to not do work, they turned him into a mutant. Now, where Bebop got the turtle from is a question... Anyway, here's a n00b question: what plans are there for DVDs of the original cartoon?
|
I don't believe there are any plans for DVDs of the original cartoon. Maybe if the new one gets popular enough and sells enough stuff.
|
There are some dvd's I've heard about coming out later this year. As to what is actually on them is anyones guess. We're hoping for season box sets or something along those lines and not just mix and match episodes.

And then.. here's the FAQ of from the Grand Pumba themselves...
http://www.ninjaturtles.com/html/faq.htm  |
Actually, Baxter will probably return in his machine form, like in the color series (they make mention of this in the new TMNT comics)... Also, for the FAQ, you could have "Splinter is a rat, formally owned by Himato Yoshi, not Himato Yoshi turned into a rat." Oh, and that choco puffs are not the most ideal of pizza toppings. I suggest cocoa pebbles or cocoa krispies... Something like that. :tpizza:
|
Also another thing to add is that Oroko Saki is in the traditional 'family name first' style of japanese naming. Meaning that Oroko is his last name, and in the traditional american style, he would be Saki Oroko.
And things are a little different in the origins of the movie and comics. See, Saki did NOT compete with Yoshi... It was his brother, Oroko Nagi that was Yoshi's rival. Yoshi killed Nagi when he caught Nagi beating Teng Shin for being in love with Yoshi. Saki vowed vengance when the clan exiled Yoshi instead of killing him. Also, Saki killed Yoshi with his gauntlet, not with a katana, as in the film. Splineter never clawed his face or lost part of his ear. |
11: Did the next Mutation REALLY suck?
A: Next Mutation DID in fact suck! 12: Is there a female Turtle called Venus? A: No. Or at least we can pretend. 13: Where can I find TMNT Roms? A: http://www.tmntonline.com / Click on Video Games |
"What has happened to Kevin Eastman?"
"How come Eastman no longer works with Laird?" And like questions can be answered here: http://www.technodrome.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3622 http://www.technodrome.com/forums/vi...t=2806&start=0 |
Q: Is it true that Shredder is dead in the Mirage Comic continuity?
A: Yes, Shredder is dead in the Mirage comics. He was actually "killed" on two occasions. He was first killed in Vol. 1 #1 where he was beaten, stabbed by Leonardo, knocked off a building, and blown to pieces by his own thermite grenade. The Foot then discovered his pieces and used worm colonies to clone him and bring him back to life. His second and final death was in "Return to New York" Vol. 1 #19-21, where the TMNT do just that and attack the Foot secret headquaters. Leonardo eventually finds the Shredder and battles him in a one on one sword fight. The fight ends when Leonardo cuts off Shredder's head. The TMNT then burn Shredder's remains. Although Shredder's legacy had haunted the TMNT after his death. The TMNT battled revenge hungry Foot Ninjas in Tales of the TMNT Vol. 1 #6; Vol. 1 #4, 44, 45, and culminated in the epic "City At War" 50-62. The Foot under new leadership since City At War, also currently appear in Vol. 4. *Just a note, my descriptions of the above events do not do them justice. If you have not read the Mirage comics, then you are missing out on some fantastic stories. |
Those pictures, while cool, have almost nothing to do with the new cartoon!
NO CHECK THIS OUT!! http://www.planetracers.com/blast/blast73.html The new cartoon is not a remake of the old one! They are two separate series that just happen to use the same comic book as source material. They also have different approaches and Krang, Rocksteady, and Bebop, while fine for the old show, just wouldn't fit the new show. Sorry. |

WOW Never? Thats too bad. Oh Well!
I was thinking April would use Stckman being evil as a big scoop for becoming a reporter, but I guess not. And I may be a NEW-B but That does not make me any less the TMNT Fan. And, the New show isnt what brought me here... I was a huge Turtle fan even before the New show came out. I'm not sayin' you were dissin' me... I'm just gettin' my p[oint through. |
Yeah well hopefull it will come to DVD soon by the end of the eyar or shortly after. I hope it comes in season sets too. Mix and match eps would be horrible. :P
|
Here's one for the people that are driving me nutz.
Q: Does Fox own the new TMNT? A: NO, Fox does not own the new series. The series is a collabartion between Mirage and 4kids Entertainment. In fact Fox doesn't even own the Fox Box. They auctioned off the satruday morning block time after Disney bought Fox Kids Communications and Saban. They sold the block and have no control over it other than the ability to take it off the air when they please (and they sure do like to do that for sports). The Fox Box in fact also airs on UPN and other stations. It's almost a wonder why it is called the Fox Box. So basically if TMNT were to move to say Kids WB or Cartoon Network it would be entirely at 4kids descresion. |
thank god they dont :x
|
At least FOX didn't edit the series (and the FOX BOX still doesn't) like USA did.
"Does this mean the show will only be half as long next week?" - Michaelangelo, from "Cry: H.A.V.O.C.!" |
im glad that they brought the turtles back..because kids growing up now are going to be wussies ...what do thay have..pokemon and crap like that
|
Hey I hear Usagi Yojimbo's being intro-ed in the new series, remember that rabbit? I dunno if this is true, or if ya already know, but we discuss it a bit on TMNTFREAKS, a MSN group.
[mod edit - discussion not revelant to the thread ] Back to the new cartoons, can I ask what episode y'all in America are up to? Or at least where it stopped? |
Quote:
|
Yeah, Laird talked to Sakai and and they decided that Usagi should be used in the new series.
|
thats too bad i don't like usagi too much, it would be nice if they had rocksteady, too bad it ain't gonna happen :|
|
i wished that krang and them all were in this new series. Hopefully one day they'll release the old TMNT on dvd.
|
*ahem ahem*
