Turtle Doc Updates

Ok, so its been a while since I have posted but I am LITERALLY flying out the door right now, I have a ton of prep, flying to LA tomorrow, new blog to put up... and I am playing a show tonight.... ANYWAYS. Before the blog goes up I just wanted to say that we just shot an interview with Steve Barron. It was shot in the UK and I interviewed him over skype, so I hope everyone is as pumped as I am about that!

Will keep posting here as things go on.

Thanks!

TristanHuwJones 03-11-2009 03:45 PM

Dude, that's awesome! I'm hearing that good things are on the way too... ;)

TurtleDoc Update!

Hi everyone!

I have an update on behalf of the TurtleDoc Crew! Today interviews with a majority of the 90's TMNT voice actors were conducted. I was fortunate enough to be there (thanks to Isaac and Kevin)! To read my blog all about it (and see plenty of pictures), please visit this link! http://gogreenmachine.wordpress.com/...st-interviews/

Thanks!

Jester 03-15-2009 11:45 PM

Lucky!!

I'd have killed to be there. As many know Pat and Rob are some of my personal heroes.

Raph 03-16-2009 01:18 AM

Wow truly amazing seeing them all together there! A fans dream indeed

Andrew NDB 03-16-2009 02:09 AM

The true spirit of the TMNT fandom seems to be alive here. I think. Very nice.

CyberCubed 03-16-2009 05:05 PM

Wow, that was awesome. It's like my childhood heroes are all together in one room! I can't wait to see the interviews later on.

IT HAS BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES.

Cowabunga Kiefer 03-16-2009 06:37 PM

Wow...that really is awesome! Oh man, I can't even imagine what it would've been like to be there in person. Such an incredible feeling it must've been. I'm so anxious now to see how this turns out!

BoggleKng 03-16-2009 08:19 PM

very nice.. cant wait to see them

Raven 03-16-2009 10:25 PM

Now this is cool, would of been awesome to aslo be there! Lucky guys!

Canadian Turtle 03-17-2009 10:12 AM

It was truly an honor to be part of/organize that. It could not have turned out better. We intended on bringing each person in for their own interviews, but what ended up happening is everyone came in one after the other and we had a great group interview as well as individual interviews with each. And then Kevin stopped by, and it was wonderful!

I tend to disconnect with the reality of the situation as I am in "work mode" all the time on set. It was not until Barry pulled me aside and told me he and the rest of the cast felt that it meant so much to them that I put this together for them, they had not seen each other like this for almost 20 years. It was at this point I almost cried. It shocked me to have a childhood icon who meant so much to me, tell me I meant something to him. Truly an honor and we love each of them, they are amazing people!

I am off to Kevin's today, lots more to shoot! Hope to see you soon!

Leonardo87 03-20-2009 01:26 AM

that is pretty cool! I can't wait to see the interviews and it must be a big honor to talk to Steve Barron, Kevin Eastman, and so on.

Canadian Turtle 03-20-2009 12:02 PM

As our trip here in LA comes near to a close I am posting an update and a shout out to those who made this trip possible! There will be a very fully detailed blog post with some funny stories over on the TurtleDoc in the coming days.

First I have to say how much Kevin has done for us. Some details I can't specify, but this dude has almost literally given us the shirt off his back, an amazing honour! And a great friend! Thank you Kevin!

Everyone we have met on our tour was a great honour to meet, from the voice cast, to Sisti who was Mikey, Brian Henson, and fans alike. Everyone has been great! Brian and the guys over at Henson's were amazing and had some great insight from the old school technical world.

It was also an honour to meet some great fans like Chris and his lovely lady Tiff, Rose, and Stephan.

Thanks all! We are on to the next leg of our journey back down to the East Coast.

Isaac.

Cowabunga Kiefer 03-20-2009 12:30 PM

Any specific places on that East Coast?

Canadian Turtle 03-20-2009 01:22 PM

We will be in the Northampton area and then back in NYC.

Give us a shout if you are out in this area.

Mindy 03-22-2009 04:42 PM

This will truly be amazing. I almost had tears in my eyes just looking at that blog and don't know why. :P

shuriken 03-22-2009 05:00 PM

:)Awesome. I admire what you guys are doing as well as appreciate it, as well as many others here on the forum.

Canadian Turtle 03-22-2009 09:12 PM

For those of you following our crazy journey I would just like to inform that we have all landed and returned home safe after stage 2 in LA.

Again I want to thank everyone out in LA for making it something truly special!!

Thanks Archon for everything!! It was awesome hanging with you again!! I am glad you had a chance to spend some time on location with us as well!! Thanks also for helping spread the word on gogreenmachine!!

Our official blog post on the trip with photos behind the scenes with all the interviews SHOULD be up tomorrow or the next day. I am waiting to get it back from my editor and producer. I will post with that update.

So to tally up the interview list for LA (alone) here it is:

Voice cast:
Barry
Rob
Townsend
Cam
Renae
Pat
James
Peter

and Brian Tochi

Kevin Eastman (in a great many settings and groups)
Brian Henson
Sisti
Fans in the area
The "Totally Rad Show" cast
Comic writers from Marvel
Comic shop owners

This is only the LA section of interviews.

Now off on stage 3 in the next couple weeks back to the East Coast with more great interviews on the list.

funatic 03-22-2009 09:34 PM

First off - as a fellow filmmaker and turtle fan let me just say that I'm so insanely jealous of what you're doing! BUT, at the same time I want to give much respect - I know how hard it can be to get a project like this in motion and I can see thru your various developments and updates that this is truly a labor of love! I actually considered doing a turtle doc for my senior thesis last year (went to school near Northampton), but ultimately decided I didn't have the time to commit to something that demanded perfection from my fanboy soul. Good luck with the road ahead - sounds like you're cruising along, and I hope to see a stellar finished product some day!

Cowabunga Kiefer 03-22-2009 11:03 PM

Let me ask you Isaac. Quick question. Do you plan on following the TMNT25 road tour map as well, you track TMNT fans in those cities? Like will you be in Chicago end of May or St. Louis in Beginning of June. I don't mean to put pressure on schedule outline at all. Just speaking for others who may want to do this as well. I cant wait to read the blog!

Tinuvielsdreams 03-23-2009 01:25 AM

It was a blast Isaac! I can't say enough how grateful I am to be a part of the documentary. It was also great to meet you : )
I emailed you about some of the other details we talked about :D can't wait!

I can't say right now, where things are at. We truly want to take part in that whole thing, however it is not likely. At this point we hope to include at least a stop or two, but it may not be practical. Sorry.

The blog I am told is going up in large installments, and I hope with some great pictures.

Spitfire 03-23-2009 05:47 PM

It was my pleasure man. You guys were quick and it was fun. Can't wait to see what else you have in store for us. Good luck on the next leg of your journey.

Canadian Turtle 03-23-2009 07:09 PM

Part 1 of the blog is up. As this story is told in chapters this one is without pictures ...yet.

Enjoy, should be a fun story to read as it develops!!

Big new trailer to come on the horizon as well!!

Canadian Turtle 03-25-2009 10:16 PM

NEW blog up, MUST READ this one is really funny, its all about me!! hahaha

(I'm Isaac if you didn't know that already)

Vegita-San 03-25-2009 10:20 PM

How many events are you doing in the NY Area? I plan to make the Mirage event held in April, wherever it is. Hopefully it's something special.

My Pro-Sumer microphone arrived as well :). Although I still need to find a Stereo XLR 1/8' cable for it. Audio only goes to the left channel with the current radio shack cable.

We are not sure yet, we shall see what events we can make it to, but this documentary is the History of the TMNT in all its different forms so events don't always fit for time, but they are nice so we will try!

There are great XLR adaptors made by Beach Tech that you can mount on the bottom of your camera that convert your channels and give you two XLR inputs into an 1/8" input on your camera.

Vegita-San 03-25-2009 10:40 PM

http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...&tab=techSpecs

I was thinking of something like this, but it doesn't tell you if it's an XLR Stereo to 1/8' stereo adapter.

I did a search on amazon for what you posted about, and I don't think it's coming up with the right thing. It looks more like an RCA Y Adapter, only with two XLR ports instead..

I want the best sounding audio possible if any rare TMNT celebs will be at this event. :).

Thanks :)

BTW, how did you arrange all those Voice Actors together in one spot? It took Raph's Girl a bit of work to help me find Renae Jacob, and she's a google expert :). Thanks RG :)

Canadian Turtle 03-26-2009 12:09 PM

^That I can't tell you, it was some hard work, but mostly connections, talking and phone calls.

We are off on another leg of our journey next week, the blogs will continue from LA and then on to our next moments, I hope you have enjoyed the newest one!! I like it because he is making fun of me, but maybe that is not apperent.

NightwatchersOnlygirl 03-26-2009 01:31 PM

Any news about your vsit to the U.K what about the U.K fans

thebrownranger 03-30-2009 10:46 PM

Feels weird to be posting on this forum again!:P

First off, I got to hand it to you Canadian Turtle, and all the other people who are helping you on this documentary quest! You guys are doing an amazing job and have never ceased to amaze me with your dedication to the turtles. Its been almost a year since I stepped away from the TMNT fandom, but after recently discovering this Turtle Doc effort, I'm back in the game! :)

If you need any help, let me know!

Also, I'm in NY! Where exactly in NY are you filming? Just the city?

:tthumbsu:

Which Marvel writers are you talking to Isaac? Dan Slott would make for a great interview, and I'm sure Peter David has interesting things to say. I've also just heard that Dario Brizuela and Andres Ponce are both attending San Diego, as well as Andie Tong, Ross May, Jake Black, myself and the rest of the Mirage crew. Gary Richardson should also be in attendance.

I forget the guys name, but it was a writer that we just happened to run into at the local comic shop by my house. Which by the way, is also Stan Sakai's local comic shop.

TristanHuwJones 03-31-2009 01:13 AM

**** you guys and your celebrity comic shops!
