Turtles Forever - The Direct to DVD 25th Anniversary Special
Anyone heard anything? Anyone, Bueller, Bueller? I mean seriously, it's May the actual factual 25th anniversary of the comic books and...not word one about this. Is there even still a DTV project?
|
its going to premiere at the san diego comic con so it might be out by the end of the summer.:)
|
So there's been nothing said at all and the whole shooting match will premiere at San Diego Comic Con...nice...
|
aw man... so much for my hopes of teaser-ing.... :(
|
well i emailed ninjaturtles.com and all dan could say was that it is part of the 2003 animated universe and the premiere is at san diego comic con.
all i wanna know is will it be a series finale or a stand alone movie:evil: O yeah dan also said that it MIGHT be shown on 4kids tv before the dvd comes out:D |
My guess: TMNT Multiverse, as hinted in the newest issue of Tales of the TMNT.
|
This could be the last time we see the 2k3 universe, as well as the last Turtle animation 4kids will work on.
It brings tears to my eyes thinking about it. |

Btw, isn't this the wrong section? |
Will the DVD be on sale in the U.K
|
san diego this year will be on fire for TURTLES
|
sorry if i look stupid but what are we talking about here? a new dvd release? fill me innn
|
I just wished they would release a teaser picture or show a screenshot or something so we can know what art and animation style that will be used. DC, Marvel, GI Joe, even those Hellboy DTV movies always give something weather it be a clip or a picture either a screenshot or production art.
I'm just praying it doesn't look like Fast Forward or Back to the Sewer. |

^screen shots would be a very wise release to tantalize us.
thanks for prodding this topic J, have been wondering myself... |

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles DTV details. (DTV = Direct to DVD) Peter Laird has released a bit of information on the upcoming TMNT DTV Movie on his blog: "Given some of the unfounded rumors that have popped up in various places on the Web about the upcoming "animated movie" from 4Kids that Lloyd Goldfine made mention of in a recent interview, I feel compelled to clarify this one important point -- this "movie" is NOT just three more episodes added to the end of this current "Back to the Sewer" season. It is a completely separate project, intended from its conception as part of the 25th anniversary celebration. The reason it is being produced in three episode-length pieces is that doing so gives us more flexibility in how we show it. But it is all one story -- you can think of the three pieces as the three chapters in a three-chapter story. While I am still not going to give a lot away at this point, I can say that this project may make a lot of fans quite happy, as it finally brings together the old and the new. And without being specific, I can also say that this project will also show fans the Turtles as they have never before been seen in animation. -- PL" credit to ign.com |

Speaking of TMNT4Kids, where is he? He should sooo give us the skinny as it were.
|
The thing I'm probably most curious about this DTV is what kind of animation style it's going to have. I highly, highly doubt we'll get the BTTS look, and Laird said it's the Turtles in a way we haven't seen before, so I'm thinking we may get a whole new look here.
So it'll have "characters from the past clashing with characters from the present," and according to Goldfine it's the favorite part of the 2K3 universe that he's worked on (this may be just to build hype, but still). The whole project is very exciting to think about, but it sure would be nice to be tossed another bone. Quote:

Didn't they say that the vol. 1, issue 1 adaptation was going to be CGI?
|
Yup. Using the movie models. If you're just trying to nit-pic me, you fail. CGI is animation too. http://www.thesmilies.com/smilies/si...enerneener.gif

Considering that I didn't start my post out by quoting you or addressing you, no. What I was getting at was, I don't recall 4Kids having anything to do with the vol. 1, #1 adaption other than marketing. I'm not going to plow through a godzillion entries on Murph's blog, but I thought he said other teams (Imagi?) were working on it.

Oh... Well, do you have a spatula? I think the egg on my face is done. :embarass:

I have an orange one... but it wasn't orange when I bought it.... o.O
Sorry if that came off a little curt. It's re-he-he-heally early in the morning. |
What I can say about the DTV:

So if its not gonna deal with the shredder wars then i guess that's gonna end up being an unresolved issue than huh? I do believe that it will still be good but are we ever gonna find out what happens with the Shredder wars?
