Welome to My Nightmare!

Hi Everybody!!

I've been here at the site for a few months now. Some of you that I've talked to were interested in seeing what over 2 1/2 decades of toy collecting can do to a home. I prefer to think of my collection as organized chaos, but I'm sure some of you will think it's a nightmare. I collect many different toy lines, but am partial to TMNT, Megos and Superheros. Most of my collection is MOC/MIB, but there are many loose pieces as well. For those of you that have already seen it, thanks for understanding. For those who haven't, I hope you enjoy the trip. Welcome to the basement of my home and know that I couldn't do this without a very understanding wife.

AAAAWWWWWWW Come on......... Megos are great. The way all you youngsters feel about the TMNT, that's how I remember Megos. I was a kid in the 70's and they were one of the big toylines. That is the only toy line I collect loose. Takes me back to when I was a kid in grammer school. I gotta know which one creeps you out.

I think they are just too close to dolls for me. My grandmother was a china doll collector (like I collect turtles). When we would go to visit, I had to sleep in "the doll room". It traumatized me.

Awesome collection jwiz! Kinda looks like my basement, minus all the cool stuff.

jwiz154 06-18-2009 12:54 PM

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I know it can be alittle overwelming. Now you know why I've been trying to get rid of some extra stuff. If anyone wants better pics of something, just let me know and I'll do my best as time permits.

Someone wanted to see a better shot of the Japan Mini-Mutant sets. Heres the best I can do until I clear out this case to change the display

Thanks again

Thanks,

The glass display cases with the wood bottoms are from the old Warner Brothers Studio Stores. I bought those when they went out of business in '97-'98. The backs are all locking drawers. The tall glass cabinets (with the four TMNT statues) are 6feet tall and came from a card store that went out of business in my town.

While I was digging in some boxes I have, I came across this model that I forgot I had. I don't remember many TMNT models over the years. This model is still sealed in the plastic wrap, it comes with Leo's katana and Don's bo. It also comes with what every ninja needs..... his very own robot.

I don't know if anyone has ever seen this before and I really don't know much about it. A friend bought it for me at a toy convention many years ago.

Actually, they're NOT bootlegs...... They are little PVC figures and were made in Germany by a company named BULLY. These figures are all licensed and all have the 1988 Mirage Studios trademark embossed on them. Bully is famous for making these PVCs of many different characters, including cartoon characters, DC and Marvel Superheros and even movie figures.

If you look at the first picture in this thread, you should be able to see that I have all four turtles, Splinter, Bebop and all four turtles from the first Mutant Military set. Each figure is about 3 inches and is non posable.

Well I stand corrected! I'm surprised they're officially licensed! Learn something new every day!

Here are some better pictures of the PVC figures made by BULLY. Both pictures have a small "Toddler Leo" in it to show about how tall the figures are.

http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/w...uff00009-1.jpg

This picture is also of PVCs by BULLY. All these ones are flatter and have magnets in their backs. Yes, mine are on the refrigerator!

I'm going through some more boxes and will have more pictures soon! Hope you all like it!!

oldmanwinters 06-24-2009 12:21 AM

Thanks for the upload of those photos of the Japanese Mini-Mutants, man! Very cool looking packaging!

jwiz154 06-26-2009 09:35 AM

Hi again,

A couple more pictures of stuff some of you might find interesting. First pictures is of two different TMNT sets from Spain. The Halfcourt and Toddler Leo are in picture just to show size comparison. I got both these sets from a toy dealer that bought them on her vacation in the mid-90s. The set next to Halfcourt is just neat because of so many figures in the bag. Each figure, and there's a buch in there, is about 1 inch tall. This set is not licensed. The second set, next to Toddler Leo is offically licensed by Mirage. Each of these PVCs are almost 3 inches tall. Has anyone ever seen either of these sets before?

http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/w...uff00008-1.jpg

I know alot of you on the site like all the different Bootleleg/Knockoff figures. Here is set with colored cloth robes. These I might post on the Trade/Sell thread if there is any interest.

http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/w...uff00001-1.jpg

Hope you all like the added pictures!!

Jerry

Dang Jerry you have a mind boggling collections! My brain is on overload

Samhain 07-03-2009 06:09 PM

Great collection bro. Lotta neat stuff! love that pinball!!

jwiz154 07-25-2009 12:21 PM

Hi again everybody. I was going through some boxes and came across something some bootleg/knockoff fans may find interesting.

First of all, many of you know about the Bootleg Giant Splinter. Some of you may know that there is also a Bootleg set of all four turtles. Each Turtle and Splinter ia about 9 inches tall. This picture has a Coil Force Leo in front for size comparison. Also, the Playmates Giant Bebop and Rocksteady are shown. The turtles and Splinter are about 4 inches shorter.

http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/w...nockoffset.jpg

Here's the part I wanted to show everyone. The Bootleg turtles had two different boxes that they came in. One was a window box and the second was a solid box. Just thought some of the variation hunters and bootleg fans would like to see the differences.

http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/w...tuff000102.jpg

http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/w...tuff000112.jpg

http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/w...tuff000122.jpg

The sides of the boxes are the same, so I only took one picture. Each of the solid boxes actually has a small colored dot on the top flap. That way you knew which turtle was in which box. Orange dot meant Mike was in the box, Blue dot...... Hope you all like the pictures!!!

Jerry

TMNTGal 07-28-2009 04:38 PM

Great pics of your giant bootlegs. I LOVE those plastic turtles in the baggies!!! I have seen similar sets to these but with multicolored plastic turtles.

RAPHAEL#1fan 08-07-2009 08:19 AM

All I can say is WOW!!

Buffy 08-25-2009 02:36 PM

What an amazing collection! It must be hell to keep the dust of it all.

jalmetalman 08-28-2009 04:46 AM

OMG!!! Killer collection you got there!!!:o

jwiz154 09-08-2009 03:10 PM

Hey gang!

First of all, THANKS to all that have enjoyed looking at my collection pictures. Haven't added any new ones lately. But this weekend that just passed, It was like Christmas. I've been trying to straighten up a bit and get rid of some of the clutter. Plus, I'm also selling at a friends toy show next month and was looking for non-TMNT stuff to get rid of. I came across a box in the basement that I forgot all about!! The following pictures are of what I found in the box stored away for safe keeping.

http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/w...extra00011.jpg

Scratch, Shogun Triceraton and HotSpot all on very nice cards.

http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/w...extra00009.jpg

Shoate, Undercover Mike, Super Mutant Splinter and Shredder. This Shredder is one of my favorite figures in the entire TMNT line!

http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/w...extra00005.jpg

Super Mutant Bebop and Rocksteady and Japanese Exclusive Saint Turtle and Dark Devil Shredder.

http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/w...extra00004.jpg

The best things in the box were these. Two sets of some of the toughest TMNT figure/sets around.

Not a bad lot at all. I'm sure you can imagine my surprise when I opened the box and found all this stuff inside. I really forgot about this stuff and don't remember packing it away at all. Well, I'm off to dig through some more boxes to see what else I can find!

Jerry
