TMNT: Arcade Attack

http://www.amazon.com/TMNT-2-Nintend...0935935&sr=1-1

I know this is far from absolute proof, as I've seen some funky things listed on Amazon that never came to pass (Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires was once listed as being on Wii, for example). But this is kind of interesting nevertheless.

Kendamu 08-23-2009 02:55 AM

I can't bring myself to think anything better than, "That must be a misprint." However, I would love to see another side-scrolling beat 'em up like TMNT'07 on GBA.

Spitfire 08-23-2009 04:06 PM

Actually Ubisoft mentioned doing a sequel to TMNT that took place in the movie universe but was a totally new story. I'm pretty sure that project turned into Smash Up though. That was probably true but I'm not so sure it is anymore.

LeoNerdo 08-25-2009 02:56 PM

something i saw today is the name TMNT Arcade Attack on the cover of the next issue of Nintendo Power.
http://nintendopower.com/images/NP246_cover.png

And then on page 2 of the contents listing here, it's listed as a DS title.

IamtheKnight 08-25-2009 03:06 PM

interesting maybe its the old arcade game in ds format?

SS Kakarot 08-27-2009 05:29 AM

This is probably just a mistake, but I noticed that a Dutch website has a listing for Smash Up on the DS, coming out in November.

WTF?! that really has to be a mistake!

Tazi 08-27-2009 09:57 AM

There's something on Ubisoft site about it:
http://www.ubi.com/ES/Games/Info.aspx?pId=8085
It's in spanish, I can't get the english page work, but if you check out the official page of it, or the wii or ps2 versions, it's Smash-Up. Interesting.

Zachatello00 08-27-2009 10:26 AM

From what I understand, TMNT:Arcade Attack is going to be a collection of the TMNT arcade games just released on the Wii (about time). I don't think it's the re-shelled edition of TMNT in Time. I think it's just being ported over from the arcade.

Are the Arcade games finally on the wii??? 'Cause I can't find them yet. Only the first game for NES.

Ninjinister 08-27-2009 07:51 PM

Google Translate says about Arcade Attack:

A BRAWL WITH STYLE NINJA

Relive the classic fighting the Turtles in the streets, sewers and rooftops of New York. The enemies and their weapons will be difficult to beat but the Turtles have Master Splinter and hard training that makes them incredibly strong. Evil never rests, but also the Turtles!

COMBAT TEAM
You are never alone, always have one of your brothers fighting on your side. Each turtle has its own strengths and weaknesses, so choose your team well.
Play with a friend via Wi-Fi or just against the machine.

ORIGINAL STORY
to a whole new story of the Turtles through animated comic style with epic battles. Follow the Turtles and Shredder revenge beneath the surface of NYC.

NEW WAYS TO BATTLE

Or dare to Head mode and repeat all your battles against the bosses over and over again, or fight against waves of enemies with no limit on the Survival mode. And finally, if you want to fight against time, choose how to spend stages the levels as quickly as possible.

As of right now, TMNT 1 on NES is the only available game for download on the Wii virtual console. Everything we're talking about now is a future release.

As you can see above, Arcade Attack isn't a compilation disc, but is a completely new game.

StealthNinjaScyther 08-28-2009 12:06 AM

Sounds like this might be a successor to the GBA game. If so, I can't wait. I've been wanting them to do that.

TerranigmaFreak 08-28-2009 08:22 AM

X to jump!? They better have a configuration menu.

The Shelf 08-28-2009 08:41 AM

Oh, this is great news!

Also...

... and even lets you jump-kick enemies...but in a way that doesn't let you spam the move to victory.
Hooray!

Doc_ock_4mugen 08-28-2009 11:02 AM

the X to jump thing seems a bit unorthodox. Usually B or A are used to jump. Seems to me that B for Jump Y and A for attacks and X to block is more reasonable than Y Block X Jump B & A for attacks

Pics can be found in the latest Nintendo Power issue already on newsstands, here is a summary:

This sounds cool i saw ign DS release dates and it says TMNT Arcade Attack TBA 2010.

I thought it was november 11 2009.

syk_skillz 08-30-2009 12:45 AM

Already forgot about Re-Shelled? Granted, it's not the best, but it's certainly not nothing.

Re-shelled isn't exactly sandbox.

Edit: Oh I see what you're talking about here, but still, the game did leave me unfulfilled.

Ninjinister 08-31-2009 08:55 AM

Luckily, I just won a DS Lite for $15, so unless this is DSiWare (which I doubt), I'll be all over it.

oldmanwinters 08-31-2009 08:07 PM

I saw some screenshots in NP today. I was hoping it would be entirely sprite based but it looks like they are using a semi-3D look to me. I'll be looking forward to seeing more from this, even though I don't have a DS.

IamtheKnight 08-31-2009 09:53 PM

Pictures please?

I would but I only peeked at the issue at Wal-Mart and didn't buy it. It looked like a pretty good issue, especially since it had a Sega Genesis 20-year retrospective.8)

I hope somebody can get some scans up soon.

This article has the closest thing I've seen to a screenshot.

EDIT: http://ds.kombo.com/article.php?artid=7408

Seems this article gives a bit more of a description.

Turo602 09-01-2009 08:23 PM

Everybody i have great news.Go to amazon search for tmnt 2 in the video game section click on it and below the logo their are images for TMNT arcade attack.

They look great for a DS game and it seems to resemble the 2k3 TMNT.

The release date also says November 10.

Ninjinister 09-01-2009 08:52 PM

Link for those that are busy/lazy:

http://www.amazon.com/TMNT-2-Nintend...1856264&sr=1-5

Looks awesome. I was hoping it would be more classic toon oriented, but I guess that would have been naïve to think.

Thanks! Looks like that new "retro" styled Turtles logo is becoming pretty prevalent of late!

Newton Gimmick 09-01-2009 10:56 PM

Hey that game looks pretty good.

TerranigmaFreak 09-02-2009 10:49 AM

Oooooh, Star Wars.

Now that's a strange glitch. If I ordered this from Amazon, should I expect a TMNT game in a Star Wars box? :-D

FTR, I meant this:
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3132/...ee5120295f.jpg
Without the "Smash Up" tag, of course.

LeoNerdo 09-02-2009 08:13 PM
