Too many topics about this already. Now that we're finally gonna see it on TV... let's have possibly the last ever Talkback Discussion thread about the 80's/2K3 TMNT ever.

Please guys, let's use this thread. Someone sticky this. I mean we have other threads with pages of past speculations and bitching about who will voice who or wether or not it'll be released on DVD, the cancelled theature screening or even if it will air at all and all that.

This special deserves its own topic about the actual movie in progress like all the other Talkback threads have had WITHOUT having to wade through 10+ pages of stuff from months ago.

I agree. The other thread is too cluttered with stuff to talk about it. We should use this one.

You think we'll need to put a *SPOILERS!* in the title? Just wanted to make sure we can talk about the details of the movie. We are all going to probably comment every commercial break!

What the hell? The only CW station I can find here is showing a football game. I checked at nine and it was showing Yu-Gi-Oh. Now this. Anyone else?

And it is a highschool game. Why?

It is high school playoff time I guess in a few states. I didn't even think my WB station had local stuff on it. You'd think a programming director would have a little more awareness and find a way to air this special. I looked through the tv guide on my DirecTV and I don't see it being shown at a later time (or earlier time) either.

Well looks like Ch'rell has returned.

My CW affiliate destroyed it. They keep jumping back and forth. I mean, in what world is the middle considered the beginning? :x

At least I know now that Karai did, in fact, storm the Technodrome all on her own. She's such a daddy's girl...

Maybe West Coast shows it later?

Very awesome. Loved it....missed the first 20 minutes. Didn't know this was happening...any word on when the DVD is coming out?

Here in New York, they're going to reshow the entire thing spread across 3 weeks starting next week at 10:30.

It was awesome!!! My favorite part was the mulitiverse and the mirage turtles.

Hah great Blues Brothers reference.

It was really them right? I've never heard them speak before.



Overall, it was great. I loved the easter eggs. I love how the turtles prime spoke verbatim from the comic. I geeked out for stuff like that. Really well put together. I didn't see the comic con version, but I'm guessing things got cut, because when they came back from commericals, the tag ins had video that wasn't in the movie. I don't know if I'll watch it over the next three weeks but I definitely will buy this on DVD.

I think I just got Turtle diabetes.

That was...almost too much. But in a good way.


I think the point where I exploded from pure bliss was when Shredder showed images from the dozens of Turtle unvierses, and we got to see stills from the live action films, the Imagi flick, the Dreamwave comic, several covers from the Mirage comic and even...the freakin ANIME Turtles!


I loved it. I was a little annoyed at first that the 2k3 Turtles kept making fun of the Old Toon Turtles, but then when they got to the Mirage unvierse and the Mirage Turtles started calling them sel-outs and kicking the crap out of them...I enjoyed the just irony.

I was hoping Tokka and Rahzar would be more than just Easter Egg thugs, but whatever. Still cool.

As for the voices, well, I knew what to expect going in, though it still took a while to acclimate, especially since I geared myself up for this by watching a bunch of Old Toon episodes last night. Old Toon Raph's voice was still spot-on, though.

And I loved Old Toon Shredder's description of Ch'Rell. "He isn't what I was expecting at all! He...He's PSYCHOTIC!"

And the 2k3 Turtles describing the fundamental difference between Old Toon Shredder and Ch'Rell:

"He's lethal!"

"He's vicious!"

"He's COMPETENT!"


All in all, great fun. I'm glad I woke up on Saturday morning to spread out on the couch and enjoy this. I felt like I was 8 again.

So for all the people who saw it at the con, which scenes were cut out?

Ok, some quick thoughts.

Awesome! I loved every minute of it. I'm definitely buying the DVD for this. Here's a quick list of pros and cons.

Pros:
-Action packed
-Mirage Turtles
-The ending
-The humor
-The cameos
-Whoever did old toon Raph's voice in this was very good

Cons:
-Old toon Leo voice is the only one I can't get over
-Some minor plot issues like Karai and how'd she find the technodrome in the first place
-Some of the writing's off like all the old turtles saying Cowabunga, or Rocksteady saying "Master Shredder" instead of boss
-The TechNOdrome
-The goofiness is too played up to the point of being annoying

I enjoyed this so much, I had to record it on a VHS tape lol. So much to talk about, it's hard to put in words. :D

Okay, going to stop looking at this thread until after it's over in my timezone. You east coast people already have seen it all the way! lol Sounds like you all enjoyed it! I'm enjoying it thus far!

I was curious about that too but I just chalked it up to her being able to follow the tremors as well and/or channeling the Shredder energy and all that jazz.

I did like the sell out comment about the color bandanas lol. I thought the comic ones were the best one and I enjoyed those poses at the end and in the final jump.

I'll have to wait until someone puts it up on youtube since I'm not in the stats anymore...

Oh yeah, the way they tossed the Mirage Shredder away just like that was kinda disappointing, but upon further thought, maybe that was on purpose. The Shredder was never a major villain to begin with, and they just literally tossed him aside like the comics. That's how I see it anyway.

Anyone love how Raph kept breaking the 4th wall and talking to the audience? Friggin awesome.

That was such a great special! My favorite part had to be when we got to see the classic toon universe. We got to see Irma pass by and strangely enough the human Rocksteady and Bebop.

I noticed that as well :D

The MIRAGE Shredder being dealt with was the whole point of the first issue, so it makes sense that he's not the threat he would become later when ressurected. I liked that attention to detail.

You DO know Rocksteady and Bebop were calling Shredder that in the pilot right?

SO SICK! I recorded it, gonna burn it to a DVD. My parents actually watched it with me cause its been around for my entire life.. they have a warm spot for it. I LOVED it. They LOVED it. I made a pizza at 930 so that I'd be ready & I was. I laughed I cried I never got up from my chair. Muy bueno!~
