Uhh.. ok? There's no Black Turtles in TMNT ... it's Dark Turtles ... so I'm not certain the point of this.

Second... wtf on the statue? O_o

Jester 11-28-2009 09:09 PM

There's a certain recently expelled member who I'll refer to as "Mr. Cat Poop", who made a certain graphic of the TMNT as being black, which was the cause for his getting the bum's rush. So that inspired me to mention that black turtles exist in real life-not a common variant, of course.

Because an eyepatch would look silly.

When I was little I always thought that Playmates made Donatello the color he was to cater to Black kids. The Slam Dunkin' Don figure in Michael Jordan-esque uniform and bright green shades further perpetuated this belief. No kidding.

The TMNT had last been with Yoshi in the old 'toon, and so they became human...but wouldn't they also have become semi-Japanese as a result? What if they'd last been with Mister T?

Are there inconsistencies in both the comics and the cartoon regarding how the ooze works? I don't really remember.

plastroncafe 11-30-2009 05:31 PM

Some male reeves turtles are also all black in color:

Moved the thread to General TMNT Discussion, because it's become a discussion about TMNT, and frankly, I hate seeing serious discussion about TMNT, so it's gotta get out of the GD. :)

Shreddy 11-30-2009 06:52 PM

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the turtles where confirmed as being red-eared sliders.

You're a moderator on a TMNT board and you hate seeing serious discussion about them?

Too each his own...

Type 97 Chi-ha 12-01-2009 06:26 AM

I think Ai was just trying to be funny. :P

Actually, the OT would have been better if it had dealt with the scientific side of turtles a bit more.

I'm a moderator of General Discussion, and I joined this forum for the General Discussion section. I like TMNT, but the fanbase is a bit too creepy for me.

So do you take EVERYTHING too seriously?

Probably. But that's my prerogative.

It doesn't matter. When Michelangelo briefly became human in an ep he was white with red hair (and for some reason his brothers KNEW what he would look like as at one point they mistake somebody else for Mikey....which I find odd).

I think you completely missed what was intended to be humor.

I never said you couldn't. Just seems like you take things said as jokes and take offense to them quite a bit around here. It wouldn't hurt if you wanted to lighten up a bit and join in on the teasing/jokes that go on.

Try clicking that.

As seriously as I can take them sometimes (which is about as seriously as I'd take a novel for an English major paper), I will agree with this one-hundred times over.
