TMNT Anime
Hey, does anyone have the TMNT anime OAVs that were made in japan? If so, is there anyway you could make me a copy and send it my way? I'll so totally hook you up with what old cartoon and new cartoon eps I have. But no one, I repeat, NO ONE, is getting my first issue TMNT comic(s)...
|
Ninja Turtles Network has an ep up for download... but I warn you its complete crap...
|
Complete crap it may be, but it's still something TMNT that I DON'T have... It must be mine!!! ::zooms off to NTN:: By the way, thanks for the tip dude!

Hmm I am going to say Yu-Gi-Oh is MUCH better than the TMNT anime, it's just non-sensicle(sp) And The Turtles can turn in to Humanoid Power Ranger superheroes |
Well, it's an atempt to turn the TMNT into Super Sentai. They were already a sentai team, in the fact that they are a task force. Now they are super sentai, in the fact that they can magically transform to save the world. It's not all that uncommon to do to american properties, I mean, look at the Spiderman live action show in japan... Also, there's Battle Fever J, which was Japan's answer to Captain America... As far as these things go, it's not all that bad... But, then again, I'm a sentai phreak... What can I say?

Live action Sailor Moon already exists dude. I've watched it. It's HORRIBLE.... Oh dear lord, is it bad... We brought this thing to hell night in our anime club. Of course, I love hell night cause I can get away with showing old eps of TMNT... Heh, Turtles' Awesome Easter destroyed everyone but the fans...

That's probably going to come out just as likely as the FOX produced DBZ live action movie... may God save us all from that.
|
Anyone interested in VHS copies of the TMNT anime can contact me.
I personally love it and find it very entertaining. You can't take it seriously; it's just great fun. And on a different note: There are live action Sailor Moon musicals in Japan that are still running. They are actually VERY good. I love all the ones I've seen and have soundtracks to a couple of them. |

Dude, that wasn't a live action movie... That was Saban trying to get ahold of the Sailor Moon property here, without actually releasing the original anime.... And I've seen that thing too.... Blegh.... What was up with the Sailor Scout in the wheel chair?

I've seen the whole Video of that thing, complete with the saban guy talking before and after they showed it, it didn't sound like he was expecting quite that negative of a reaction... And when I mention NEW live action series I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT SERAMYU, This is something different entirely, that hasn't ever been seen and may just be a rumor... Dosn't anyone listen to what I say??? |
remember that old show G force that was on the cartoon network years ago with Glactor even thou it took me a while to get over the crapy music and what soever and at the end a big nuke going off. it was a cool anime from the 70s eagle riders blew man :o
|
I hate Manga and Anime :x they disusts me, Horrible inventios! Bleah! :dead:
|
::laughing:: Wow, that's funny coming from somone who loves the cartoon, Supermik. See, the first five episodes, and many more from what I here, were drawn by Toei animation, also known for Dragon Ball, DBZ, and DBGT... Anime and manga are not all that bad, you just gotta find something you like, same as with anything. All it really is is cartoons and comics. And those are the literal translations into english, before anyone tries to argue with me. Also, I heard what you said, but I thought Gena Davis WAS in the Saban pilot... Hey, either way, live action is NOT a good platform for Sailor Moon. OH! And before I forget, there was a live action Dragon Ball movie. I've seen it, and, well... That was a lovely piece of crap had I ever seen one...

ZigFB and CookSux: I heard there was a DBZ korean film, anyone know anything about that? And I agree, Sailor Moon + Live Action = Bad Idea.... maybe they'll keep the super short skirts though, that's enough reason to get some people to watch it  (Actually... I just dont want them to do a Live action series...) |

1) Picture / design are horrible 2) movements of characters are unreal respect to a normal person 3) they don't passion me. 4) since when i was i child i hate manga and anime cartoon / comics Excuse me but this is my personal opinion, I love for example USA cartoon like TMNT and European cartoon. |
There's good and bad in all art and animation styles. I myself am not a huge fan of the Japanese style and the way it seems that all cartoons and comics nowadays borrow heavily from it. But there's some stuff I do like.
I agree in not really liking the over-eggagerated nature of some Japanese stuff. Some of the more subtle stuff though I really do enjoy; stuff that doesn't give everyone huge eyes and big pointy multi-colored hair. I also think that Japanese artists generally seem to have a much better talent for drawing females more realistically than Americans do. Basically I don't think any one style is better than the other. It's just a matter of looking around and finding what you enjoy. There's a lot of American cartoons and artwork that are just plain terrible. |

IMO, The designs and movements in Akira and Ghost in the Shell are reeeeeally good! |
I think the art in anime-films is a lot better than in western cartoons. Has anyone seen "Mononoke Hime"? Watch this awesome movie and tell me that japanese animation is not great. Another great thing about those is that they have always been for a mature audience too. Western cartoons were and still are mainly made for kids.

I think more cartoons are made for all ages in japan than in the US, but that's really changing. |
I meant they are ALSO made for a mature audience. Of course there is simple kids-stuff like Yu-Gi-Oh, but there are also movies like "Mononoke Hime", "Akira" or "Samurai X". As far as western cartoons are concerned I only know HBO's "Spawn" or the "Heavy Metal F.A.K.K."-movies, which were made for adults.

I always hated that they changed the name of Kenshin OVA to Samurai X for the US, and I want to know what made them do that does anyone have any ideas? Akira was an awesome flick, I remember the first time I saw it I was probably 11 or so... changed my life I tell you! ^__^ |

(in fact they did a skit at Anime Expo last year, dressed as the RK characters) Im a huge Sanosuke fan personally  The manga art style is GREAT... thats one of my favorite Manga art styles. (I wish I could think of the artists name.. Watsuki?) another one I really like is Hyper Police! I am waiting for them to release the episodes I never saw... (in fact maybe they've done it by now) |
Yeah, his name is Nobuhiro Watsuki.

Ladies and gentleman, I shall now answer a few questions.
A.) DragonBall was a Hong Kong film, so it's chinese. The fight scenes were done by the guy who did the fight scenes in the Matrix, oddly enough. B.) The reason the Kenshin OAVs were called Samurai X were because they was liscenesed to a different company thant the ones who grabbed the TV Series. Sort of like ADV secured the rights to Shin Seki Evangelion (Neon Genesis Evangelion here) while U.S. Manga Corps grabbed the rights to Evangelion Death, Eavangelion Rebirth, and End of Evangelion. C.) The TMNT anime is not all that bad, though the film quality is horrible. You can tell the show was made for kids though. The voice for Splinter sounds remarkably like the american voice. Krang sounds like he inhailed helium. BeBop and Rocksteady... Well, they're Bebop in Rocksteady, just speaking bad japanese instead of bad english... :tanime: D.) Mononoke Hime was a great film, though I prefer Char's Counterattack. E.) The reason why there's so much exageration in anime is because their culture is different, and that is funny for them and used for comedy. Notice that most serious anime hardly ever use overexageration. But things like Lupin III or One Piece use it ALL the time... Well, Castle of Cogliostro used it limitedly, but that was Miyazaki so what could you expect? F.) The votes are still out on live action Sailor Moon, though I will be asking the resident Sailor Moon/AMV goddess down here about what she knows. More than likely it'll turn out to be real. I mean, come on... They made live action Great Teacher Onizuka. |

Well.. please let me know if you find out if it's true... because Part of me hopes it is, part of me hopes its just rumors... :| |
Seen live-action Utena. That was enough to put me off live-action anime stuff for a loooooooooong time. *wishes they had a barfing icon* Although I am somewhat intrigued by rumors of a live-action Lupin movie. If done right that could be pretty cool. :)
