Tales #69, the second to last issue, has its cover put up. Looks like Dan Berger has one more story, and possibly his last ever (?), as the second to last issue.

Jim Lawson said awhile ago #70 is done by him and is a mostly Raph solo adventure set during Return to New York.

I can't believe we're almost at the end now. Almost brings a tear to my eye.

If Dan does get one more issue, then I will die a very happy Turtles fan.:D

All good things come to an end.

I wish they still did synopses... the title and cover art have me leaping to conclusions that may have me having happy seizures.

Is Shadow a blonde? As a kid she was, but in her teen years she became all goth with black hair and nose piercings.

I'm wondering if she changed back to a blonde as an adult.

Well the story is called "Dark Shadows", so it must be her.

I'd always assumed the black hair in her goth phase was just a dye-job.

Looks like it's Shadow. You know, I saw that cover but it never occured to me until you guys mentioned her name here. And obviously yes... the title seems to cement it.

Just based on the cover alone, looks like Future Shadow in some kind of a post-apocalyptic... somewhere. Perhaps New Orleans, or wherever Future Raph was in that Dan Berger issue a ways back where the city was all flooded like that.

Does that say "Chet" on the wall behind her? That'd be way creepy.

My first thought was the "C" word. Which made me giggle.

Full circle creepy? Or creepy in some other fashion?

Why would that be creepy?? He was their owner and has been in the series in one form or another over the years.

I wonder if this issue will have no Turtles.

The only other Tales issue with no Turtles was that one with April going on self-discovery after she found out she was a drawing.

I doubt that. Maybe a peek at some mid-distant Future Turtles. One or two, methinks.

I don't think the karai-centric story "The Amulet" (Tales 44) had any turtles in it either.

I really hope it is a follow up to the last scene in Tales #55 where we got to see a future Raph alone with his thoughts, teddy bear and April robot.

Confirmed that it's about Future Shadow. She's "mowing down Foot" and "looking for someone."

Sweeeeeeeeet.

Now Karai approaching Shadow about joining the Foot Clan in early Vol. 4 makes slightly more sense. That looks like a Foot uniform to me.

At least Tales has been fixing some of Vol. 4's plotholes.

Maybe it's Mike she's looking for - as he seems to be lost in the future (at least from Raph's perspective at the end of Tales 55)

So the world gets destroyed in the future? I guess there must have been some major war with all the aliens living on Earth during Volume 4. Maybe the Xihad guys succeeded in getting the "alien scum" off the planet.

I also hope we see a bit of the older Turtles in this, and maybe Mikey if that's what it is.

I hope this isn't an alternate future story...

Because the earth isn't actually post-apoclytic in Tales 40, 41 or Loops, or Gizmo/Fugitoid.

Makes sense, since Shadow ain't that old lookin on the cover and there's a HUGE gap between the last issue of Volume 4 and the earliest "Future Era" story.

Shadow looks to be in her late 20's or early 30's on the cover.

Yeah, I bet this story involves Shadow having joined the Foot at some point. Possibly out for revenge?

Also, looks like the setting might explain the future Raph segment at the end of #55, but I won't hold my breath.

Tales Vol 2, "A Day in the Life." We see a very old Raph in a ruined, flooded city.

Didn't Dan Berger write #55 too? If he did, its possibly linked.
