Original cartoon soundtrack RECREATION in progress
As some members know I've been working on recreating as much of the OT score as time permits. These tracks were made in Fruityloops using custom & modified sounds from several keyboards I own aswell as drum machines etc. For the most part I'm doing these from memory but I've used the cartoon for a referance or two here & there. This link will bring you to a folder with 7 songs, they're the only ones I've done so far. They're also probably the most notable (familiar) songs from the early days so I'm sure fans will enjoy. I know many will think "This isnt worth downloading, its probably very amatuer" but I ask that you judge after you hear them. Obviously in this day & age the kits/keys wont be so 80's orcheesey & maybe to some it'll lose substance for that, but really its just the same but with 'real' sounding instruments. Well I'll do more as time goes on, & update with new links every couple of songs. If anyone would care to suggest a certain song, or provide me with a video clip/audio sample to help further this project, please do so!
Enjoy! :tsmile: EDIT: Well guys, I've decided to pick this back up again. http://i49.tinypic.com/o7tv2h.png Here you can download what we've got so far, which includes the original songs (fixed and remastered) as well as 2 new ones! http://powderakacaseyjones.bandcamp....ted-soundtrack & I need a favor from those of you who are willing to help and want to see this project continue. In order to recreate these songs, I need audio references. If you can provide clips, taken from the DVD's for me to learn & recreate by ear, I would really appreciate it. Or, you could simply provide youtube links to videos that feature some portions of the music (This is for American users only, as most of the clips everyone can see internationally are for one reason or another region blocked here- I wouldn't want you guys to go to the effort for nothing.). So I hope everyone enjoys what I've done so far! Thanks for checking it out. Note: The technodrome theme is the same one available for download at the technodrome mainpage but remastered with added sounds. EDIT: New Cover- https://f4.bcbits.com/img/a1840857473_16.jpg |
Yes! After watching a bunch of old ton, I'd been wanting to listen to this seperately! Thanks!
|
Dude these are sick... Very nice work!!! I hope you don't mind if I spread your link...

I can't wait to get home and download these!
|
Just listening to it the now, you done a fantastic job.
|
Hopefully you can get instruments that sound like the original instruments, that's the only gripe I have with these. The next song you should add is the battle theme that is prominent in Season 4. (Don't know about other seasons, I've only been watching through this one so far)

Loved em, can't wait for more. I'd make a request, but they never had titles lol

You've done a great job, Powder! My favorite ones are the "Splinter Explains" and "A Positive Plot" (mostly for tuba sound). I do think it would be great to take your musical cues and try to adapt it to the proper instruments. Keep up the amazing work!
|
There is some song that is a version of the theme song that is played in NAME THAT TOON and KRANGENSTEIN LIVES and I am not sure if it is played in any other episodes but I think you will know what I mean when you watch those 2 episodes again.
|
These are incredible! Thanks for taking the time to put this together.
|
I LOVE Approaching danger and Home Sweet Sewer.. those were always 2 of my favorites
|
Dude yes! These are great!
|
Nice job on those! I'm looking forward to hearing more of them.

My favourite music was only played 4 or 5 times ever and only in the first two seasons. In episode 2, while looking for the technodrome, while going through the pipes in the sewer where Raphael falls thru one and says "they don't pay me enough to take this kind of abuse." The music playing in the background of that scene is my absolute favourite! |
Great job dude! Listening to them now, looking strongly forward to more.
|
Wow great job. The "Approaching Danger" and "Technodrome Theme" are the coolest!
|
wow powder those are great!!!!
You realy did a very great job!!! i loved it!!! I wish I had the know how to do that!!! :tgrin: |
Powder, these are great!
|
Hey powder,
I'd love to hear some of these songs I heard on the old show : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCOHL...eature=related (the part where shredder and the gang are in the hotel room) at 1:00 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vm7NBqEx3f0 Splinters theme song (The part where splinter greets zach) at 3:00 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfSGfnUSues this songs used for irma a lot (the part where irma is crying her eyes out at the begining of the epiosde |
Good to hear that everyone is digging these 'cover instrumentals'. While OT is what got me into TMNT in the first place, it's not very high on my list of priorities. So, I'll get around to checking these out one of these years. I hope they can live up to their reputation. ^_^

Unfortunately I can't watch any of these videos due to copyright restrictions in the US. They're only viewable in the UK. Thanks alot for trying though. |
Great job! I like how you interpreted the background music.
My three favorites are: Irma needs a date Approaching danger Home sweet sewer Inside the technodrome gets an honorable mention too. |
This sounds cool, but for some reason I'm having trouble downloading from MegaUpload tonight, if this could be uploaded elsewhere I'd be eternally grateful. :twink:
EDIT: Nevermind, I got it. |
Hi again powder,
Sorry about that! youtube is such a pain sometimes Try this mate! I have uploaded the 3 tracks in one .wav file! http://www.megaupload.com/?d=CW7WQY7F Hope you can do it because with a man of your talent! Its just possible :tgrin: Again great work with the other tracks I absolutly love them! :tgrin: |
Powder, this stuff is GREAT! :tgrin:
I agree with everyone else who enjoyed "Approaching Danger," I've always thought that was one of Shredder's better themes. As for requests, I'd like to see Krang's theme done, you hear quite a bit of it in "Enter the Shredder" when Krang is introduced. You also get a really good listen to the very first part of that music at the end of season 3's premiere "Beneath these Streets" at the end of the episode when Krang confronts Shredder on his most recent failure. I'll try to think of some more, but until then keep up the radical work, dude! :twink: |
Excellent work, Powder! Thanks for sharing!
|
inside the technodrome is great !
you done a great work powder ! i also had this kind of idea 3 month ago and now i had finally finish the first part of my work with 23 files, but it's not great work like you , i'm not a musician producer it's just cut off some songs part of the anime :) Spoiler:
