Should venus be in the new 2012 cartoon?

Should venus be in the new 2012 cartoon? I dont remember much from the next mutation, but I know that one creator like venus, the other did not even acknowledge her existence. What do u guys think?

Roseangelo 03-31-2010 10:33 PM

No.

.......

TheCanadiandrome 03-31-2010 10:36 PM

Never....Ever

Kali 03-31-2010 10:50 PM

Even though I actually enjoyed The Next Mutation and have a fondness for Venus, and would love to see her redesigned, I'm gonna say no. Well, maybe as a one-shot character, I'd love to see her redesigned as a villain. But in general... no.

CyberCubed 03-31-2010 10:56 PM

Nick probably has no idea the Next Mutation exists. Disney/Saban still hold the rights to it.

Typical responses

Venus is awesome and ironically the best character in The Next Mutation. WOuld I like her as being part of the team? Not really. Would I like her showing up on the show and maybe being a re-curring character? I'd love that! And with Laird gone I hope she finally gets to do at least cameos.

Counting her undeserved reputation I don't think its too likely though,

I'm sure they do, and besides its the people who will be writing the show who would make the decision and I'm sure if they know anything about the turtles history they know about Venus.

Powder 03-31-2010 11:26 PM

I won't even vote. This is rediculous.

gobo 03-31-2010 11:40 PM

I still don't get it. Why would we have a Sailor Scout involved? This is mind-boggling!

Krutch 03-31-2010 11:56 PM

I think a female turtle character is possible, but they'd pretty much need to start with that and scrap what they had. A villain might be a good idea. Maybe Karai or Shredder would be inspired to have their own mutant turtle ninja and experiment on one and train it... wait, that kind of sounds stupid now that I'd typed it.

..but I still think Venus, if redone, could be a decent addition as a recurring character. Just not as a series regular.

gobo 04-01-2010 02:28 AM

I wonder if Shredder'll be a turtle this time...

Scandia 04-01-2010 05:58 AM

Absolutely not!

Well she is the coolest Sailor Soldier after all...

Mighty Bebop 04-01-2010 08:54 AM

Venus is best left in the past.

I wouldn't want to see her in the new series, but I wouldn't be opposed to maybe a very small in-joke that acknowledged her existence. I always get a kick out of nods to the Turtles' history (for better or worse) like that.

Still, count me firmly in the "no Venus" camp.

ToTheNines 04-01-2010 09:12 AM

I voted "Helk No", meaning I definitely don't want her to be a fulltime memeber of the cast, but I would like to see her as a one-shot character or something like that.

bwahaha!!! two best answers yet :tlol:

oldmanwinters 04-01-2010 04:30 PM

I'd say the #1 concern I have in light of the Viacom buyout is the thought that Venus might become a PERMANENT addition to the TMNT franchise.

Redeemer 04-01-2010 07:10 PM

I voted no as well, but If they put Venus in I would have a hard time watching it.

Samhain 04-01-2010 07:16 PM

HELL to the NO!

Triglyph 04-01-2010 07:18 PM

I was going to type "who?", but someone beat me to it...

Remember when Clark Kent started to work for a tv news station instead of the daily planet?

Sometimes things sound like a good idea at the time..."lets spice up the old formula with a modern spin"...but then it just doesn't work out and things get back to normal soon enough.

There are four, male ninja turtles.

gobo 04-01-2010 07:52 PM

Honestly, I wouldn't mind if she was involved as a recurring guest character. As someone else stated, she was the best character in TNM. In other words, "least annoying". Her competition was four adult, male ninja turtles who act like hyperactive 6 year olds and a bunch of villains more incompetent than OT Krang, Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady combined. Could I tolerate her becoming a regular fixture to the main cast of characters? I'd sincerely rather not, but I'd still give it a chance.

TMNachoT 04-01-2010 10:27 PM

Never! Nunca! Jamais!

I didn“t like the fact that she shares the same origin as the turtles, it feels so wrong.

Guitar_Raph 04-01-2010 10:35 PM

It would be nice to have Venus back after 15 years. Maybe Leo can make a move on her. Sexy!

Kendamu 04-02-2010 01:37 AM

I'd rather not. She was put there because Saban wanted a female Turtle, not because Kevin and Pete were like, "This is something we've always wanted!"

jaymq 04-02-2010 01:46 AM

I don't hate Venus, but I think it's better just leaving her canon only to TNM. She is alright only there.

Additionally, Nick needs to come up with their own ideas.

ryukenden 04-02-2010 07:00 AM

The established Turtles in TNM were all completely immature and paled in comparison to all the previous incarnations including the Coming Out of Their Shells Turtles. Venus just joined the wrong group. She probably would have fit in better if the established Turtles were more true to Mirage like Movie1 and the NT. All in all, stick with the main 4.

kenshin 04-03-2010 03:20 AM

sometimes mikey acting like girl thats enough.:D

To be honest:

Redeemer 04-04-2010 08:58 AM

Truthfully I didn't think Venus would get this many supportors. My problem with bringing Venus back is that she would put a bump in the plot. I watch NM ,but I can't remember much about it. But from what I hear she was suppose to be the most powerful. This was was kinda of stupid. I can see her as an equal, but not Supiers, bc the Turtles are the main characters.

Luzmagica 04-04-2010 11:00 AM

Well,... I didnt vote because I had not seen Next Mutation...only heard about it...
But Im sure that I prefer a Venus turtle than the second option of poll:" no, but they should add a new turtle"...!!! Enough with my 4 classic turtles!!!

Candy Kappa 04-04-2010 07:52 PM

she ruins the whole deal with the turtles being outcasts

that said, a 'alt. world' episode could feature a female turtle

True, but it's not like Next Mutation ever got that deep. And if this show is OT-ish, it won't either.

gobo 04-05-2010 03:06 AM

I'm expecting it to be way deep. Like, Penguins Of Madagascar deep. Still, how did Venus make them not outcasts anymore? It seems to me they were still freaks of nature.

ToTheNines 04-05-2010 09:43 AM

Well, I guess that wasn't the best word to use but I thought he was refering to the whole "last of their kind" thing. Ever read "Sons of the Silent Age"?

But with Venus around, they can throw the meat and keep their race alive. So their existance is less poignant.

CyberCubed 04-05-2010 01:11 PM

For example, each Turtle would separately impregnate Venus and create a new race of mutant Turtle things.

This is why Next Mutation established the Turtles weren't blood brothers and Venus wasn't their sister, that way the Turtles could want to get with her without it being incest.

gobo 04-05-2010 01:34 PM

That... brings up a deep question. Like 'Back To The Barnyard' deep... times 50. Due to the nature of her mutation, would Venus carry her hatchlings to term or would she still lay her eggs like any other reptile? I'm guessing option A. After all, she does has bubees. What good are mammary glands to a reptile? Know what I'm sayin'?

ToTheNines 04-05-2010 01:39 PM

What good are boobs that are blocked by plastron?

gobo 04-05-2010 01:55 PM

So, you get my point. Nick isn't expecting anyone to think that hard about it. Plus, they probably have no reason to want to please the old skool fans. I expect the show to be mildly amusing at best. If it's better than that, then good on them, but don't expect me to be setting myself up for a gargantuan letdown so early ahead of the game.

dontplaydead27 04-07-2010 04:14 AM

Maybe.
