CJJ's Spring Custom Contest (More Info to Come)
 

Title says it all (well, not really).
FOUR entries are allowed---if I can come up with twelve prizes, there will be a first, second, and third place for each category. AndrewDSZ has been gracious enough to provide several prizes, as has Raphsation!!! If anyone else would like to donate prizes, it is still not too late!!! I will compensate for however many we need in addition to however many prizes are donated.

Best Over-All
Most Interesting/Humorous/Thought-Provoking, etc.
Most Accurate Rendition of a Character
Best Result with Least Amount of Effort (I had thought of this, and forgotten it, and then Ecto's Robo-Leo made me remember I'd created this fourth category!!! :tlol:)

Any entry can win in more than one category and in as many as all four, the best case scenario for any participant being that they win first place in ALL four categories AND have more votes for their entry/entries in each category, which would POSSIBLY allow him/her first dibs on four of twelve prizes. Winning first place in any category doesn't guarantee first dibs on a prize--but it increases your chances of having first dibs on said prize greatly.
You MAY enter customs that were already works in progress when I posted that we were having this contest.

You MAY post as many pictures of your entries as you would like in this thread, but you must choose only ONE picture of each entry to send me for the voting threads.

I am not putting a size limit on entry pictures, but let’s PLEASE be reasonable-- the pictures of your entries should be viewable without having to do an excessive amount of scrolling.

You may submit group entries.

You MAY submit fan-made characters.

You may only submit four entries, in any combination you wish. If you would like to submit all four entries in one category, that's fine...but you can't enter any of them in any other categories if you choose to go that route.

All entries must be sent via PM to me.

I've got something I've been tooling with, but considering how long it's taken me to get as far as I have, I don't know if three weeks is going to cut it.

If push comes to shove, I'll just whip up something last minute.

Well, I clocked about six hours today working on two of my entries.

Mmm, just finished my customs, I'm starting a new one, but I'm not too sure if I can finish it in time...we'll see.

I haven't set a deadline yet...read original post carefully.

I actually thought about that when I created this contest, Wes.

Mine are probably going to take longer than I thought. Figures I'd get offered work as soon I get into the middle of a project I really care about...

Set of two semi-minis from 2K3 and complete set of toddler turtles, each of the two set can be treated as one prizes so we got two prizes now. O well i know these two prizes are really small so i may change it into something else later... ..let me see wut i can find from my basement... ...

I dont feel its unreasonable but dont base it off me. I have a number of projects in the works and until they're done I just cant start any more. I just like completing my queue before adding to it :)

My point is that you can enter something you've already started working on if you want...if you are going to finish them anyway, why not kill two birds with one stone and get what you can done in time to enter the contest?

I didn't start my entries until I'd already posted details because I didn't want to have an unfair advantage, but the rest of you are welcome to enter stuff you've already started work on. Or maybe you don't have any works in progress that are TMNT related?

None at the moment.. only game and movie projects. TMNT would be in the coming months

After mulling it over, I guess I'm in. I dug out a Casey Jones and Rat King I started on long ago whilst I was unpacking. I may have more to work on soon. Iwant to do a Renet fig, but dont have a suitable base ATM.

I'm still waiting to see if I can get the materials together before I make a commitment. It's a somewhat more ambitious project than I normally do so we'll see.

Er...yeah. Have you not looked at the categories? You haven't been here long which is why you don't understand that I'm here primarily to worship TMNTs, not like SOME peoples. Having said that, I'm not going to be TOO strict. I'll allow cross-over type stuff (ex. Darth Shredder) or stuff that is only tangentially related (Gizmo and Fluffy, Usagi and Gen, etc). If you have a specific idea you'd like to ask me about before starting work I'm only a PM away.

Depending on getting the parts soon enough (despite a lack of a due date at the moment) and ultimately how long it will take to sculpt, mold, paint, sew, etc I'm probably in. I'm not all about entering a contest to only show progress of something I'm working on instead of a finished piece. I feel its an unfair and waste of an entry. So IF I have a sufficient amount of time to complete it between work, family, and other commitments.. You'll have an entry from me

At this point, I've decided that entries will be due May 9th at 12:00 PM EST at the earliest.

Do we need to write some names near our works to make sure no one is using other ppl's work/pics online?

I'll have to get back to you on that...but most of us have pretty distinct styles, so it would be hard to pull off in my opinion. If I suspect someone has done something in poor taste I'll require some sort of proof.

I will allow fanmade characters as entries, so long as you can provide references (stories, previously done fan-art portrayals, etc). Might get some more fangirls interested. :tgrin:

But they MUST be characters from TMNT related universes. Only one fan-made character entry per user, please (if you choose to go that route at all).
