How like Turtle Soup because of TMNT?

Self-explanatory...

I know... willtupper does these better. So what. I was bored.

EDIT: Adding substance to this one-note joke of a thread, who'd refuse to ever eat turtle whatever because of their appreciation of the TMNT? And, no, turtle pasta, turtle pies, turtle cereal & etc don't count. I've often thought that I wanted to try turtle soup or something just to broaden my horizons, but never found a reliably decent-quality restaurant that serves it (and I don't cook).

Candy Kappa 05-01-2010 07:02 AM

never tried it :D
have thought about trying turtle eggs to breakfast.

PAAATE 05-01-2010 07:20 AM

i likez dem whipping kream :o:o:o

Ulisses31 05-01-2010 07:40 AM

Never tasted.

Koi 05-01-2010 11:41 AM

Ever since I watched TMNT (which has changed my entire view point of completely everything around me!!!!) , I thought it was unethical to consume! What horrible person could consume something so beautiful and majestic and might have a sibling that could grow up and kick their butt. I would punch a mother if they ever tried to give turtle soup to a child!

In all out seriousness, I still think eating a turtle is wrong. I have had several pet turtles and baby turtles. So after having pet turtles it is really gross to know people are eating those cute darlings.

Spitfire 05-01-2010 11:52 AM

I tend to stick with the main animals when I choose to eat other living creatures. Cows, pigs, chickens(birds), lamb, some sea life, and that's about it. I don't even eat pig if I can help it and lamb usually gives me gas so I don't have that too often anymore either.

I don't think I could eat a turtle, I kinda like them. I also feel bad because some of them are endangered. If I had a sadistic Shredder fetish though I'd eat some while wearing his costume and take a picture.

Ulisses31 05-01-2010 11:53 AM

To be honest (at least one time in life:D) I have to say that turtle soap never reminds me TMNT, instead it make me remind Alice in Wonderland.

And like Arella, I would never eat this:

Turtle Soap... gore.

He posts on the 'drome, and did stuff for the Tales comics.

Spacebabie 05-02-2010 05:39 PM

Never tried it, never had a desire to try it, but it would probably taste like chicken to me.

Prowler 05-23-2010 11:29 AM

Doc_ock_4mugen 05-24-2010 08:34 AM

Shredder wants to do THAT to the TMNT!? Well he was voiced by Uncle Phil, but still... DAMN!

I'll stick to Peanut Butter Chocolate chip cookies and Jalapeño pizza...

Never tried it and never plan to. Just another enfatic word: Never!!!
Im with Arella!!!

Im not going to eat turtle, dog, horse, or dolphin.....!!! :x :tmad: ....

Katie 05-25-2010 06:25 PM

I think its silly to say you wouldn't eat one sort of animal because it's "majestic" or whatever (ie dogs, horses, turtles....whatever) but then you would eat some other animal. Chicken.....cattle....whatever.

Be adventurous. Damn. Horse meat is delicious. I can say that and still be a horse lover. I just love them in all kinds of ways!

Bambi is yummy

Iguana is superb

Rabbit seriously tastes like Chicken and is amazing when fried

I've even tasted dog.....kinda pork like.

it's all just meat

Candy Kappa 05-25-2010 07:04 PM

as Katie said it's just meat.

If I ever get the opportunity, I'd try it.

I also want to try various insects that are editable, spiders, I'm even up for dog meat.

Ninjinister 05-25-2010 07:22 PM

It tastes like rubber.

I don't want to eat it because it looks gross.

I have to agree rabbit and deer are yummy. Never tried any lizard though.

Tarantula isn't that bad either, you should try it.

That brings up a story. The Audobon Zoo in New Orleans has this exhibit called an insectarium, where they display a bunch of bugs. The WTF thing about it is that their concession stand serves fried-up bugs. Look around for a similar business near you and you might get that opportunity.

I think serving bugs might be too alien here in Norway.
but who knows what I'll find going some urban safari, my room mates found a pot store not far from school:lol:

Luzmagica 05-26-2010 05:44 AM

I must be really starving for try eat bugs!!!! ... :tlol::tlol::tlol:

I understand ...I do not deny the omnivorous habits of the human being, of course if im starving i could be surprise what can I could eat... (im not vegetarian)... but if I can choose.....I prefer not to eat pet-animals,..:twink::tgrin: or bugs!!!

Doc_ock_4mugen 05-26-2010 07:58 AM

I've eaten rabbit fricasse... yum! kinda like chicken but slightly different (more dry.)
I've eaten a couple of bugs on a dare... taste better cooked.
Shark, now there's a tasty meat...
I wonder what humans taste like... scientific curiosity only. I've heard they taste kinda like a cross between beef and pork.

On Turtle Soup. I blame the presentation. If it was served like a chowder with bits and pieces with no shells floating, maybe more people would eat it.

Candy Kappa 05-26-2010 08:02 AM

Ants are good, can throw them in your tea

but I wouldn't eat a endangered Turtle, or endangered animal in general

Ulisses31 05-26-2010 08:12 AM

This is me when I´m starving...

http://bp2.blogger.com/_-sFohRgxOBI/...t2+MAD%233.jpg

I would eat humans if needed...

Sorry but if we are going by looks, I would pick a turtle over a damn Tarantula to eat anyday.

Kendamu 06-01-2010 03:34 PM

Though originally (when I was a kid) I didn't want to ever have turtle soup because of the TMNT, nowadays I still won't have it because I don't like the concept of eating things that I would keep as a pet. Doing that feels like you're eating a friend or family member.

This doesn't mean that every cuddly fluffy animal is off limits, though. For example, I would keep a dog as a pet therefore I wouldn't eat it. However, I would not keep a rabbit as a pet and I would eat it.
