For all of you artists here at the drome, I bring something new!

I have started a new thread for this in which everyone can claim their page(s) of choice. For now, pick no more then 2 (for those of you who may choose to do more then one, try to pick pages that are far apart from eachother).

I'm gonna take pages 1 & 30.

Perhaps cartoonist aaron would like the honor of doing the cover for my having based this idea off of his, & Koschei could take the large 2 page spread on pages 2 & 3 being that the collaboration was his idea.

So we're clear, this is the issue we're doing.

You may do the style as you wish. Chibi or another style of manga/anime, grotesque, cartoon like, mimic Eastman/Laird's style, overly muscular, anything your imagination pleases. Color is optional & may be done in whatever way you please; crayon, photoshop, markers, etc.

DEADLINE: DID ME NO GOOD

Specific "nono's"
MS Paint
Layout changes
Altered panels
Changed dialogue
Self advertisements
Obscenities of any sort
Non scanned art (I.E. a photograph of your submission will not be used, it must be scanned)
Copying the style of any artist who isn't Eastman/Laird (I.E. Lawson, Farley)

ART MUST BE SCANNED AT 300 DPI!!

*Entries that do not follow these guidlines will be rejected*

ATTN TO THOSE WHO CAN NOT DRAW BUT WISH TO BE INVOLVED-

We will potentially need a letterer for a few pages, someone who can lay things out to resemble a comic book in photoshop or some other program, & donations (in due time) to help fund publishing. We'll work out that last note later.
I will keep note of who is doing what page(s) here at the end of the post.

What are the specifics? Deadline? Image format? Image size? Et cetera?

I am joining, I will takee whatever pages. Maybe something less actiony more posey? I will look into the comic again to see if I have a need for a page.

As for the deadline, I'm leaving that up in the air right now. Everyone always has some sort of time restraint... Maybe to give some rough idea I could say... sometime before september (AKA before the summer is over).

Image size...

I'd like for everyone to scan their material at 300 DPI. I'm not very good with technical stuff really so maybe someone more suited could give us guideline suggestions.

PS- The Ninjister, you will be listed for page 26 now.

I may hate myself later, but I think I may want a crack at pages 7 & 8, mostly because I love the way the Turtles look in those panels.

I'll take pages 18 and 19 if that's ok. (I chose the pages from the webversion on the ninja turtles website, I hope these pages are the same as in the real comic)

We should try and recreate alot of the issues in Vol. 1. A different artist could do every cover. It'd be awesome!

I've got you down for 21, Venom chose 7. If he should choose to opt out of that page for whatever reason, you will take his place. If by some chance this goes smoothely, we could always try another project but I think for now we're a little ahead of ourselves! :-p

Damn, what an awesome idea. I'm all for this. I ain't amazing, not by a long shot, but I do like a doodle and there's no chance that i'd skip something along these lines. Can I get page 34 please?

Yo Powder! I will do the lettering for the entire comic in Photoshop. I'd also like to do page 5, but if someone already claimed that one just give me 1 random page.

I can't draw for beans but I would love to help out however I can..

I'm in. I'd like to do at least one instance of Shredder in armor. Let me flip through my copy of the issue to pick exactly what page(s) I'd like... if they are not already taken, of course.

This is a geat idea. I almost miss this, as I don't enter this sub-forum too often.

Add me to the ranks of people who can't draw a straight line with a ruler, but would love to be involved in some other capacity.
(Unless a page that looks like Mike's storytelling via Tales Vol 2 is something people'd be interested in.)

Crap!! im late someone took the page I had in mind :ohwell:, ok I'll go with pg.28-29 spread.

The image sizes depend on what the dimensions of the comic be if printed . So do you have a size in mind Powder ?
I'm thinking the ideal size for images would be 9"x12" cause im sure the comic will not be bigger than that and that size can later be adjusted in photoshop to fit whatever dimensions that are smaller than 9"x12" and not turn pixelated.

I'd like to do 31 and 39. To be sure, those are the ones that start with "Hai! All your ninja have fallen, Shredder!" and "It's Over, my brothers", repectively.

This sounds like a blast! I'm gonna request pages 6 and 17.

Just wondering, how much artistic license are we allowed? Dialogue and captions would all be there, of course, but can we alter panel content and layout, as long as we give all the necessary information?

That page looked hilarious. If that is how you draw, feel free to contribute!

Ideally, I would want this comic to be the same size as every other standard comic out there.

You have as much creative freedom you want when it comes to the appearance of characters but the layouts & scenes are to remain the same. So no, please do not alter the panel content.

I'd like to have page 22, this sounds fun! You got some kind of deadline in your mind Powder? Since for me, it'll be the near the start of July till I can start this, since I'm moving in couple of days...
So no Simon Bisley type of things, like random dwarves :P

K so that's 6 1/2" x 10 1/4" , everyones drawing should be no smaller than that so it wont come out pixelated when printed.

Well, if some people are doing it in MSPaint, they will obviosly be pixelated.... But, I guess that's not too much of a problem.

I'm having a total blast with this. Bout half way through. I don't have photoshop, so i'm doing all this manually. Gotta get me a red pen and some prit-stick.

There's obviously enthusiasm for this and I look forward to seeing what you folks come up with... but I admit, I'm not too clear... the whole point of this is to basically add letters to the belts and engoofen the look of the TMNT in TMNT Vol. 1, #1?

Now, I wouldn't mind seeing TMNT Vol. 1, #1 redone in the later Eastman & Laird style seen in TMNT Vol. 1, #50. That'd be interesting.

Not at all. Everyone has a different style - the way I see it is that we will see everyone's own takes on the turtles, using the basic layouts from said issue. I'm going for a bit of a collage type. Sure, i'd imagine some folk may do it 'old toon' style, someone else may go for vintage Lawson, mayhap we'll get Japanesey chibi. Noone knows yet, and that to me makes this pretty awesome.

Oh, so any given page could be a completely different style, perhaps completely unlike anything in the OS or Mirage? If so, I could take a page.

I'll take 2 & 3, and 35 and 38 if that's OK.

Correct. Its just to see everyones interpretation, have fun, etc.

To avoid that they can draw each panel in individual files and have someone lay it out for them in photoshop if they like.

Why don't you just choose your own pages? Man up and pick man! Or else, you may be given page nine. Or twenty-five. (Which is a nice page, just all shadows and buildings though...)
