Something is wrong here...

Haha, I was just taking some quizzes one day, and searched TMNT on this website. This popped up, and there was one I couldn't get right (I eventually did), and it turned out to be...quite wrong. See if you can find the error! (If you want to kill about 2 minutes) All you got to do is fill in the lyrics to the OT theme song.

Have fun!

Powder 06-18-2010 12:46 AM

Spoiler:
Is it really "Raphael is cool but crude"? I always thought it was "rude."

Venom 06-18-2010 09:22 PM

No no, it's definitely crude.

Me too.... :l

Spoiler:
Shredder didn't do that! AND Michaelangelo is not spelled like that. That made me mad. I lost. :(

Raph's Girl 06-18-2010 09:58 PM

Wait what? In what universe did Shredder do that?

No, the M word is spelled correctly.

Powder 06-18-2010 10:41 PM

Its "Michelangelo" not "Michaelangelo".

Michelangelo is the correct spelling.

Mutated Turtle 06-19-2010 02:42 AM

Whoever made that is clearly an idiot.

Jephael 06-19-2010 03:34 PM

I'll go further than that. Whoever made that is an imbred retard!

shuriken 06-19-2010 03:45 PM

Oh come on I think you're all being too harsh on the pitiful idiot that made this. It's not his or her fault that he or she is an epic failure of a human being.

Garou 06-19-2010 05:05 PM

He did one mistake, as far as I can tell, and that's the part with Shredder.

In all fairness, when the OT was launched, they used the spelling of Mikey's name that had been used in the comics - and in the comics, they had misspelled his name to be Michaelangelo instead of Michelangelo.

Atleast if I remember correctly, but I can't find any information to back me up on it...

they mention it on ninjaturtles.com about the origin of issue1

Yep, 'Michelangelo' was spelled 'Michaelangelo' for years, at least up until vol 4 of the Mirage comics, when Laird decided to change it to the 'proper' spelling. As I recall, he said something along the lines that they (he and Eastman) had mispelled it when they first came up with the idea of TMNT, and it was something that had bugged him ever since. So when the TMNT got, I dunno, their 2000ADish revival, he thought it to be the time to set things right.

TuЯco 06-19-2010 09:58 PM

if that was real itd the purpose of the whole ninja turtle series.

I think it was in 2001 the spelling was changed? But isn't Michaelangelo the right English spelling?

nope it's Michelangelo and always have been.

ooglafina 06-24-2010 12:24 PM

The name Michael is Hebrew, whereas the name Michelangelo is apparently a contraction of Michele and Angelo. Michele is the French form of Michelle and Angelo is derived from Angelus. So I suppose Michele is a feminized, Latinized version of Michael. So the "A" isn't needed in Latin or French and would change the pronunciation. But that's just offhand wikipedia research and we all know how reliable that is.

I still don't see it as a misstake, since names can be spelled in different ways.

I go ballistic every time someone spells my name "Patrick" instead of "Patrik". Especially on Facebook, where my ****ing name is right there if you don't know how to spell it.

How you spell a name matters :P

Yes, but that's how your name is spelled. What I mean is that when you decide a name (for your child, or a comic book character you create), you also decide the spelling.

I don't think it's ever been spelled Michaelangelo in any form besides when it was spelled wrong in the comics. I think English speakers just want to stick the extra A in there because that's how we think it should be spelled.

Yes you probably right :) I'll go back to tmnt classroom :embarass: lol I like the way of the last cover call it but it's just an "A" ;)

Teddy 06-27-2010 06:37 PM

Hmm. I thought Raphael was "cool, but rude" too. I'm sorry, but I'm still going to sing it that way. :trazz:
