New Episode Discussion - "Garbageman"

Since no one thought of it yet, I decided this would be the place to discuss "Garbageman". Could someone "sticky" it?

caspiantiger 04-05-2003 07:09 AM

cant wait

i still cant believe there back on!!!! I love the turtles. ''1 2 3 4 turtles ,thers nothin better, turtles, watch out for shreader''

Raven 04-05-2003 07:30 AM

only 2 more hours till garbage man appears for me

aaaaahhhhhhh I think I might wet my pants!

HorseTechie 04-05-2003 08:29 AM

Oh.. here it is! *deletes her thread and stickies this one*

I didn't see the first part of this ep, but the last part was funny. I ended up laughing at Mike's stupid antics, and Raph's comments to them more than anything.

Eye of Sarnath 04-05-2003 08:32 AM

It just began for me. But I missed the first five minutes because my stupid cable went down. :(

Lisardo 04-05-2003 08:49 AM

Pretty cool ep, yeah Mikey's 'recycled' one-liners were funny! This whole thing reminds me of a B:TAS ep, I think they took the idea off that ep. Heehee! That homeless professor was cool too. I'm surprixed the turtles are now associating with so many humans. And to think, only a few ep's back, April was first time they had ever been near a human. Then came Casey, then Angel, now these guys!

Can't wait for next week's ep. Finally Saki will face them, yay!

splint 04-05-2003 08:54 AM

this episode is better then I first thought.

Eye of Sarnath 04-05-2003 09:00 AM

I agree with that. Plus, it includes the first possible death! Oh yeah: next episode= teh best!

splint 04-05-2003 09:01 AM

next episode is looking like the best one so far.

JoshBYawn 04-05-2003 09:02 AM

I was just happy to hear a "Cowabunga!"

Josh

Keno 04-05-2003 09:03 AM

Loved the line at the end: "Quit recycling the old ones, Mikey, and keep looking for something new."

Also, the part where MIkey screamed like a girl and then apologized for it

Next week looks REAAAAAAALY good! ! !

Eye of Sarnath 04-05-2003 09:04 AM

Actually, I liked the episode. I said it was going to be the worst, and it looks the TMNT's worst is other cartoon's best.

Holden 04-05-2003 09:05 AM

I agree that this episode far exceeded the expectations that were set after last week, but I quickly forgot how good it was about seeing next week's ep. Holy fluerking shiznit!

Mondo_Gecko 04-05-2003 09:05 AM

GOODMORNING ONE AND ALL

BEST FREAKING EPISODE EVER!!!!!!

The Garbageman was one of the best villians yet. Bring Him Back.

My only two complaints about this episode

Stop using the words shell like "what the shell" i duunno how long they've been doing this on the show but is annoying and lame. It be better without it

Why does everythink there wearing turtle costumes. I prefer the old show where everybody knew they were mutants.

Oh and Sarnath quit being so negative about stuff you haven't even seen. Good to see you enjoyed this one!!! Next time wait till ya see something.

Shadow 04-05-2003 09:06 AM

k no doubt about it...the preview for epp. 10 is amazing...cannot freaking wait.

Now about garbadge man:

pretty good...not crazy about the bad guy...but they can't always fight shredder...and they are forcing me to have to be patient...which is fine...

Mikey was funny...very funny...i thought it was intersting that donnie was on the shell cycle...all a pretty good eppisode

I liked the human and turtle interaction...very sweet.

and leo...he always says, "yeah a little too quite..." or a "yeah a little too easy" its funny. i love it.

Dontebell 04-05-2003 09:07 AM

they'er wearing the coat and the hat from the old show.

Anarchistguy 04-05-2003 09:08 AM

This episode was actually better than I thought...it was pretty nice :)

Cascadia 04-05-2003 09:09 AM

I have not seen it yet.

cqb101 04-05-2003 09:10 AM

I really liked the Ep. I thought it was like the old X-Men toon.... Anyway next weeks ep. looks kick ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kid Icarus 04-05-2003 09:11 AM

Am I the only one who sees that they got the idea of Garbageman from Mojo (X-men villian guy.)? The story was even kinda the same as the one they used in the old X-men show... big evil fat smelly thing in a high-tech wheel chair kidnaps the mutants (in this case the homeless) and makes them do his work...

Next week is going to be a great show though!

EDIT: i got distracted by the Cramp Twins. Like i said though... its a pretty close story to what X-men did.

HorseTechie 04-05-2003 09:13 AM

:o Lisa.. whoa, whatdya doing over here?

But yeah, I thought it was kinda cool to see Donny on the motorcycle. I also thought the Battle Shell was gonna freakin' transform at one point there. Definately a big case of Batman/007 vehicle tricks. Which leaves me wondering.. just where do they get missles like that? The terrorist trade?

Anarchistguy 04-05-2003 09:14 AM

I think Garbageman looks like Walter from the Earthworm Jim cartoon. (For those who don't know who Walter was, he was EWJ's cellmate and thought Jim was a dental floss.)

Stefano 04-05-2003 09:15 AM

Its just how i thaught it would be. there was a bunch of people complaining about it before it came out. Im suprised donny narrated again. Thats his fourth i think. It was cool seeing donny on the shell cycle. I knew this was going to be a funnier one. Was the garbage man from the comic or did they pull him out of their butt like what the old show did with beebop and rocksteady. A little part of me was happy teh grabage man got away. Next episode looks awesome. We get to see the utroms i beileve.

Mondo_Gecko 04-05-2003 09:15 AM

If he looked llike anything from Earthworm Jim it was Chuck from the first game.

Nate 04-05-2003 09:16 AM

Not great.. I liked it better than Nano, but next ep. looks like it could be the best of the first season (thus far) Can't wait.

Splinter 04-05-2003 09:16 AM

This was a great episode. A real Michelangelo tour de force. Loved the fact they acknowledged his girly screams, like from Episode 7. "Sorry about the girly scream" had me rolling off the couch. Not to mention Mikey's "TMNT What you get is what you see" cheer at the edge of the peir.

Sucked that Mikey keeps getting screwed out of narrating the openings though. But like has been said here before, it's nice that they are giving the charecters a bit more of individual personalitys, compared to the old toon. One week to go for the most anticipated show in my book. :)

EXACTLY

HorseTechie 04-05-2003 09:21 AM

Heee... the girly scream had me floored for sure, and then the second of uncomfortable silence after Mike's cheer...

I also decided trying to eat breaskfast when the Garbage man sat there with flies bugging and drool flowing was not a good idea... :dead:

Anarchistguy 04-05-2003 09:23 AM

Stefano 04-05-2003 09:35 AM

will garbage man come back?

Nturtle 04-05-2003 09:35 AM

Well, this episode in my opinion was lacking in plot and action but made up for some of that in humour!!
The "Girly laugh" line was hillarious, same with Mikey trying to make a cool sounding movie quote, but I think Raph telling him that he was only embarressing himself was the best!!
It was deffinitely better than Nano, the Garbageman was just plain freaky though :o :dead: I didn't like him at all...
7 out of 10

Lanagirl 04-05-2003 09:36 AM

Were Hun or Saki in this episode? And why are you thinking that the next episode will be better?

Stefano 04-05-2003 09:37 AM

no hun no saki. Next episode has shredder trying to convince leo that he is good and to fight on his side. You actually see shredder and ther will be a battle

I don't know, I thought it had a very good plot. We saw where the Turtles gathered their equipment. Plus that they arn't completly anti-social to everyone but Casey and April. It was nice to see them caring for the homeless, and befriending them. It also had a very nice message about how humanity treats the homeless. Like their garbage and don't matter. And that if they disapear, the police wouldn't know or care. Might make a few of the newer generations growing up with the Turtles this time, think about these sorts of things. :)

A big battle. :D

I liked that professor dude.

rayfillet101 04-05-2003 09:48 AM

ha was donny who narrarated? I thought so but i just kept telling myself it was leo, donny's done that enough(three to one)!
good episode.but why did the garbage man have tubes in him?i laughed how the proffesor gave mikey a near mint comic that he found in the trash.

Cascadia 04-05-2003 10:09 AM

It was a pretty good episode. The humor was great out of Mikey.

Stefano 04-05-2003 10:35 AM

i like how mikey finally said cowabunga. He almost did in the first episode but raph pushed him

Mortu 04-05-2003 10:40 AM

Once again, I think it's much more interesting to learn about different aspects of the Turtles lives than it is to just see them doing the same battle over and over and over and over. I applaud the absence of Shredder, Hun, Stcokman, Foot Ninjas, Casey, April and even Splinter this episode. The show took us to an enitrely different situation, with interesting new characters, creepy new places, a garbage scow full of humor, a solid story and, surprise, even a little bit of a message! When you turn this show on every Saturday you never know what to expect (besides a solid, well done episode).

Isn't that what you want from your Turtles?

Oh yeah, when Raph says "You're only embarassing yourself!"

I loved the part where they wore those trenchcoats and that jazz music was playing. For some reason though, they look more like Inspector Gadget with those things.
