The "Official" Site

Today has not been a great day, I went to the Official Site to find that it is going through maintenance/several sections are gone.

Looks like no more comic or toy archives.

Seriously. If I were them I would want to build on what was already there, seems to me they are planning to rebuild the turtles in their own image.

No more Mirage universe stuff I guess.

REALLY makes me want to get back into doing fan-art and fan-fiction.

ninjaturtles.com will soon enough just re-direct to http://www.nick.com/shows/tmnt, I don't see why its much of a shock, we all knew this since they bought the turtles. Yes, the new site will be about the show and a "crappy flash site" for kids, you know their target demographic. Theres archive.org and plenty of people were archiving the website last year, its really a surprise it lasted that long but Nick likely didn't have anything to do with it until now since they are going to begin re-running the 2k3 show and they need to point new fans to their website.

Yeah ninjaturtles.com was a great resource for information, but hey the info will still be out there and we all knew this was going to happen eventually, and no Nick getting rid of the old site doesn't mean they don't respect the turtles or whatever, they just can't maintain it, they likely have one guy who does all of Nick.com and they aren't going to have a separate site for tmnt when all their other shows don't. Mirage could do it because well its the only property they had that was worth anything. This is really the opportunity for thetechnodrome to become THE resource for TMNT.

Personally I'm glad Nick is finally showing signs of doing stuff with the property and we'll see more once the re-runs start and more in 2011 when we start getting info about the movie and new show. If you want to know what the new website will look like just go to nick.com and check the websites for their other shows, thats what it'll look like so start complaining now. IMO it gets the job done, also the TMNT will finally have an official board though I'm guessing it'll be as moronic as the 4kids website board.

This has already been brought up in another thread, and as stated, myself, and possibly a few others have already started moving the content to a new site. For myself it will be MutantOoze.org. I plan on having more info than what was on ninjaturtles.com, I also plan on it being freely available for download so anyone can implement it to their own TMNT fansite... I have also messaged Krang about taking what I do for my site and also adding it to the drome... No sense in doing the work twice ya know...

No worries CJJ, the data has been saved and will be back online soon for you to reference and use.

Nick's sticking to the formula of not doing anything that doesn't make them money. Lovely...

NinjaTurltes.com updated and links to Nick.com

NinjaTurtles.com has been updated. It has links to Nick.com now. Much content has been removed; including main page updates, comic books and toys sections, and the write to us page. This also mean you can no longer freely read the first 21 issue of the TMNT comics.

Surprisingly they haven't scraped the whole site yet.

Yet. There's always a year or so delay with the Wayback Machine.

I tried NinjaTurltes.com it didn't work.

Ninjinister 09-01-2010 08:34 PM

I'm pretty certain some folks scraped the site a bit ago, when the sale was first announced. All of the materials are being held on by a few members at least.

You could buy them given how cheap they are to get.

Yeah. Website taken over by a company that actually knows how to make money. Depressing.

What's with this anti-nick stance? They haven't done ANYTHING yet.

Exactly. Who knows what to expect. They're using the element of surprise.

Its not that, its just that I've been going to that website since I was a little kid & now its gone. I'm not really one of those anti-nick kinda dudes, either. I look forward to seeing what they can do with the turtles.

When was the original launch date? If i'm right, it was 1996, so the website has been around for a couple of years now.
