Kidisms

I thought this might be entertaining.

Anyone who's been around little kids knows they can say some pretty funny stuff. I just got off the phone with my three year old nephew. He constantly has me laughing with the stuff he says.

He's decided he doesn't like potatoes.....this was the conversation:

Him: I don't like potatoes. They taste bad.
Me: but you like french fries don't you?
Him: yes!
Me: french fries are potatoes!
Him: oh no. They aren't
Me: well, where do you think french fries come from?
Him: McDonalds.

Anyone else have funny / cute kidisms?

My mom made the mistake of buying a Transformer for my little brother off Ebay. Well, the day it comes she takes him to the mailbox, opens it up, and gives him the package. He rips it opens, screams, and plays for a good 5 minutes till he moves on to something else.;)

Well, now he is convinced that the mailbox ''makes'' the stuff he wants. He talks to it, asking for things. Checks it everyday. And when there isnt anything in it he likes he throws a fit. Which would really annoy me if he were my kid but, he isnt.:P

That's cute, Katie.

Hahahaha, that is funny. I just have this mental image of a little one at a mailbox. Too cute.

I know I have a few good stories, I just need to remember them. I'm only around kids maybe once a week, so I've forgotten most of them.

OH, here's one. A two year old gave me fashion advice.

(This is at church, where I watch the kids during the service.)

She turns to me and says: 'Where are your church clothes?'
Me: 'I'm wearing them.'
*she pauses* 'Why did you wear that?'
Me: 'Because this is what I picked out.'
Her: 'Why?'
Me: 'Because I like this.'
*she pauses again* 'I think you should wear something like I did.' *goes back to coloring*

(Note: I was wearing a skirt and blouse. She was wearing a jean skirt and tank top.)

Ahh, kids.

At the Toys R' Us where my sister works. Kid is standing there with his mom and some kind of board game.

Kid: I can't play this...it's for 6...t sign. I'm 4 and not t sign. *t sign, of course, being a plus symbol*
Mom: No, it's OK. You can still play it.
Kid: You're right...I am smart for a 4 not t sign.

That's funny because when I was about that age I tried to say my sister's name, Joanna, and just said Mana (rhymes with...Khan-a). We still call her that.

I ask my 2 yr old Nephew how Iron man goes (how he uses the pulsar rays) and he sticks out his hand and goes "Pyush!"
Then I ask him how Spiderman goes and he does the middle finger and ring finger to palm gesture and he says "Swoosh!"
Finally I ask him how does Daddy go. He then walks slowly to the couch and lets himself fall on it.

Oh man. My little cousin would say some funny stuff when he was younger, but unfortunately I only remember he wanting to wear dresses.

Here's a convo my BF's nephew Ethan had with us today:

Ethan: I have to go poop.
Me: So, go on the big boy potty.
Ethan: *looks at TV where Turtles Forever is playing*: Turtles go potty?
Me: Yeah, they do because they're big boys. If you want to be a big boy like them, you have to go in the big boy potty.
Ethan: Nah.

One time my sister and I were in a gas station bathroom and she saw that the toilet paper brand was "Kimberly Clark Professional." She told me that "Kimberly Clark is a professional pooper."

Just back today from a holiday in Portugal, where I was visiting my mam, and five minutes down the road from her, my stepbrother, his wife and their three kids. I got too many to even remember, but here's a few:

The youngest, Ewen (two and a half, everyone calls him Noobie), is obsessed with watches - "Can I get your Dino-Morpher?" When you give your watch to him, he'll put it on, jump round in circles yelling "Power Ranger - Power Up!"

Yesterday, we had a BBQ for Kieren's birthday (just turned four, everyone calls him Keeko) and he said to Jamie, his five year old sister (who was sitting on my knee at the time) "Do you want a pink jellybean?" whilst holding out said jellybean. As Jamie reached for it, Keeko eats it and says "Well, they're on the table - help yourself."

There were another coupla kids kicking around, J.J. and Leon, they and their mother on holiday visiting my bro and his wife. They both of which started calling me Uncle Mikey as all the other kids were. Thought that was quite sweet.

Oh, I once caught my sister's kid Kennedy picking her nose and eating it. "What you doing that for?" Asked I. Her reply? "Coz it is yummy!"

BubblyShell22 08-30-2010 03:02 PM

Wow. Those are some funny quotes.

Got a dirty one, starring me.

So my Mom's the oldest of three, and my sister and I were born before any of our cousins. So when my unlces first got married I'd always beg them to have kids. Also, at this point my total understanding of reproduction was "the daddy puts fertilizer in the mommy's tummy for her eggs". Here's how one particular conversation played out infront of everyone:

6-year-old me: Uncle Ricky, when are you gonna have a baby?
Rick: I dunno buddy
Me: Why not?
*a few mintues of back and forth*
Mom: Well he hasn't put the fertilizer in Aunt Kristen's tummy yet.
Me: Well why don't ya just put the fertilizer in her mouth and make her swallow it?

Everyone cracked up and I had no idea why, but I always remembered that day... then one day it hit me why everyone thought that was so funny lol.

BubblyShell22 09-07-2010 10:03 AM

Wow, that is funny.

Where babies come from is always an interesting topic for little kids!

My nephew asked me why I didn't have a baby yet an I told him that my dog Zoe was my "little girl" right now (the dog is 3 years older than him BTW). He scrunched up his nose and said: Auntie Katie, why did you have a baby with a doggy?

BubblyShell22 09-08-2010 08:47 AM

Oh, that is so cute. Yeah, that topic is interesting for little kids. Can't wait for Ethan to start asking his mom that one.

shuriken 09-15-2010 06:15 PM

So my older brother changed my little 2 yr old nephew's diaper, or so he thought. we(my sister, her boyfriend, my bro's wife, my little niece, and I) were sitting in the living room talking and out comes my little nephew without any pants or diapers on and my sister asks him "What's that? Why don't you have your pants on?"
He then replies "It's my elephant..."

BubblyShell22 09-16-2010 08:31 AM

OMG, that's hilarious!
