Aliens...Do they Exist?

We haven't found much yet, but I believe there is some form of extraterrestrial/super intelligent life out there...

Leo656 04-12-2003 09:22 PM

I'm of the *opinion* that there has to be.

One thing that most people agree on, regardless of religious or any other beliefs, is that the universe is infinite, and a host to a plethora of possibilities.

To me, whether you believe in any kind of God or not, the thought that an entire infinite universe would be created solely for one speck of dust to carry life on it, well... that seems incredibly arrogant to me.

I'm not saying that any extra-terrestrial life forms have ever contacted us or the planet Earth, but I strongly believe that it's extremely likely that aliens exist.

Nickokapo 04-12-2003 09:25 PM

Damn, if you'd have made this thread 2 days ago when i saw the movie "communion" and got into the alien stuff again i'd have gave you a better opinion  but anyways...i believe they do exist, they just have the power to hide so well they cannot be discovered, which is good as most people would freak out, but i dont think they're trying to do any harm.
Damn, im starting to sound like i'm nuts  but yeah, i believe they exist.

XERO 04-12-2003 09:32 PM

Do Aliens exist? :-?

Right now, there are some aliens on a different Galaxy asking the same question...

GK Punk 04-12-2003 09:33 PM

I hope Klingons and Romulan's are real, that would be pure pwnage

Dontebell 04-12-2003 09:35 PM

after watching unsolved mysteries about aliens,i belive in them.

Nickokapo 04-12-2003 09:37 PM

 I'd kick them in the alienuts for creating a freaking language...i think there's even a klingon dictionary, good god.

Tokka-B 04-12-2003 09:43 PM

Heh, well extraterrestrial life is not conveniantly located I guess...They say it would take 300 years from the nearest star system at 10 million miles/hour (about 250 times faster than our fastest spacecraft travels). But hey, maybe there will be life on a planet in our own solar system...I wonder if any alien has been to our moon before when we weren't on it...that would be freaky...

That Matt Guy 04-12-2003 09:58 PM

I only believe in Martians.

Has anyone seen that one Simpsons episode about Homer convincing he found an Alien but the Alien was Mr. Burns.

That Matt Guy 04-12-2003 10:02 PM

Yeah, I bet everyone has seen that one.

Leo33 04-12-2003 10:36 PM

I'v seen it. I think that there is infanite space, like most people. What are the chances that we are the only planet with life on it? Therefor, I also belive that there is live on other planets, but nothing like what is on Earth. I think that the life forms are just bacteria and sruff like that. It maybe that their is life out there that is more advanced than us, and it probally would be easy to get me to agree to that as the truth, but I don't belive in the UFO crazy farmers see. Thats just stupid.

Eye of Sarnath 04-12-2003 10:43 PM

Hell yeah. I mean, if aliens don't exist, how do you explain me and half of the people I know? I bet aliens left me on my parent's doorstep on they decided to be kind and rasie me.

In all seriousness, I believe it's highly unlikely that aliens DON'T exist. The universe is a big place (really big) and chances are good that there's SOMETHING else out there. That doesn't mean technologically advanced aliens, it just means something alive that didn't come from earth. It could be a plant, for all we know. I also doubt that there are aliens on any nearby planets, but hey, ya never know.

Tokka-B 04-12-2003 10:52 PM

Yea, and the other life form may be something we have never imagined...made of elements you couldn't find in our solar system...the possibilities are endless, but it is fun to think of these things... They say blind people can acutally visually see rays and such. I wonder what their dreams are about (if they have any)..

PanMan 04-12-2003 11:01 PM

i think there is some form of life out there, probably primitive like bacteria or maybe something a bit bigger, but probably not animals and such. to think that there are a bunch of technologically advanced aliens out there that can do anything imaginable would be rather unlikely. i think that if we find something in the next 100 years, it will be some sort of bacteria in our solarsystem.

Casey Jones 04-12-2003 11:46 PM

i might be mistaken on this, but weren't some bacteria found on Mars awhile back?

Yup, I totally agree with you Leo. As far as whether they are intelligent/super-intelligent, they could be just as stupid as us humans. No offense to anyone on this planet of ours of course...

YEAH!!!

That Matt Guy 04-13-2003 02:17 AM

That was one of the funniest things I ever saw Tom Green do. That entire episode is probably the best one of his entire series.

Aliens exist.....If they don't how do you explain crop circles?

lawn mowers.... (joking)

Shellfox 04-13-2003 09:01 AM

Do they exist-Yes
Do they visit earth- probly, some are hoxes, but some do, hell theres suppose to be a spaceship in a picture (I think) by Leonardo
Do they have to like us-Hell no (I never got why people always said if it couldn't support human life it couldn't support any life, thats pure BS)

Exactly, just like their are several types of planets, there could be several types of races, some may not breath using our type of air. (if that makes sense)

Nickokapo 04-13-2003 09:08 AM

I think they are using us to find out info about us, but discretely so...and i dont blame them, we do it with animals all the times since they are inferior to us and we are probably inferior to aliens.
As long as they dont get near me or my movies i dont care :D now they touch my divx movies and there'll be an interplanetary war between me and the alien's ass
BTW im a huge tom green fan  too bad i havent seen the alien ep, that guy makes me laugh a lot.

cqb101 04-13-2003 09:09 AM

That makes perfect sense!

Tokka-B 04-13-2003 11:56 AM

When you know the possibilities can be endless/farfetched anything will make sense...

As a Trek fan, I certainly hope that post was made in sarcasm. Course, I too am afraid of the people who "lose" themsevles inside these fictional universes. But that doesn't mean Star Trek itself is bad.

As for the aliens, the universe is so big, infinite even, there's no way that Earth can be the only place that has life. And if we stretch our imaginations to consider all the ways life can exsist. It boggles the mind. I mean, look at ALL the different animal, plant, and microscopic lifeforms we have on this planet. If there's that much diversity on our little ball of dirt, imagine what else could be out there.

'Course, if I was an alien, I wouldn't even stop for gas on this planet.

Nickokapo 04-13-2003 12:45 PM

:) i can't really believe we are the only ones in existance, that there's no proof of other lifeforms yet does not mean they do not exist, the universe is huger than huge, there has to be other lifeforms out there...
And i agree with benvenuto's comment :)

Nope i meant what i said. IMO STAR TREK SUCKS Alot of it has to do w/ the fact that one of my former roommates was a trekie and no one should live like him.

Nickokapo 04-13-2003 01:06 PM

:P It's not the series that has the fault, it's some of the people that does not know when to shut up and thus end up giving their fandom a bad name.
But when most of the fandom is like that...well...then i dunno :ohwell:

Kid Icarus 04-13-2003 07:27 PM

There has to be. It's all just too big out there for Earth to be the only place with life.

More than likely their sitting in their homes, talking about the same thing we are :tsurpris: .

Tokka-B 04-13-2003 07:35 PM

Nah, they probly have been to other planets before....Do you think we will ever be invaded by aliens? Of course if we were, we'd lose the fight big time...

The Stryker 04-13-2003 10:29 PM

Aliens do exist.....they'll visit the earth in the year 2020 right after scientist rename the planet uranus to urectum to end that stupid joke they'll destroy civilization twice and then we'll usher in the year 3000 with advanced but still inferior technology!!!!

*looks around at everyone staring*

what?

Tokka-B 04-13-2003 10:41 PM

Bah, we will all eventually kill each other off before any of that happens... :)
