FINISHED Pics of the Raphael Movie 1 Bust
 

Hope you guys dont mind I decided to make a separate post with finished pics of my Raphael bust. Sorry for the low quality pics they came from a cell phone but its all I have for now please give me your thoughts on this I for one am pretty blown away by not only the quality of the piece but the likeness to Raphael from the first film. Very cool, but I still think it looks nothing like the first film.

Awesome looking. While I think elements of it resemble the first film, the teeth throws off the look. Atleast for me. But still cool.

Really, I mean everyone has an opinion but I do find it very hard to believe you dont see the likeness. Look at my avatar, when is the last time you saw the movie? I think he got the eyes, cheeks, and overall headshape down pretty much perfectly but obviously it isnt perfect but amazing IMO. :)

I have to agree with Powder, it doesn't look to much like the first film. It looks nice though.

I see a likeness. But I have seen a likeness in everything you have had made. Not everything is perfect. I think the last one you had made captures a movie 1 look better than this one. JMO.

The last one didnt have wide enough cheeks the head was to triangle shaped, the eyes/lids were to exposed like the 3rd film where this one the eyes and bandanna look much closer to the first film. I am sure the Expression is throwing some of you off but again everyone has there opinion and I respect that. all these heads usually look different in person then the pics unfortunatly but the Artist says you really dont appreciate this piece until you see it in Person.

If anything, this one seems more triangular to me. The eyes also seem too slanted. The pictures are perfectly fine.

Nah man, I think you're delirious because your avatar and that bust don't have as much in common as you seem to think.

It's the bottom teeth....they are what makes it look...off.

Not trying to start an argument hear but the last one was triangle shaped with cheeks not as wide as they should be, this one was executed perfectly as far as cheek shape IMO. I will post comparison pics to remind you

Regardless of what others may say, in the end, its only your opinion that matters. We didnt pay for that, you did. As long as you are happy with it then just let it be. Its gonna make for a great display piece and you should be proud to own it.

I am sorry but this is about as triangle as it gets, cheeks not wide enough. New bust looks way better IMO and look how much these eyes bug out and how much lid is exposed which is not how they looked in the first film.

Thanks for posting, can you post some of him when his eyes are angry or without lifting his brows? I know the look on this bust was captured from a certain scene in the movie if you could find that scene and post it I would appreciate it :-)

Oh wow I just realized this bust looks allot like Raph's stunt head, check this pic.

So what you're telling me is try to get a shot os a Raph "hero head" from TMNT 1. I'll try.

Well the head was beased off a scene in the film that I am sure wasnt the stunt hero head but I saw this pic and thought it looked allot like it. Try to find the scene of this expression if you can please, thank you.

This is quality work to be highly admired - but it doesn't much resemble movie 1 Raph in my opinion. I feel like you're taking that the wrong way, people are just offering up opinions. It doesn't take away from the piece, it's a wonderfully crafted bust.

Your right and I appreciate opinions wether I agree with them or not I just sometimes dont understand them so try to get more out of it but like you said regardless of the likeness, its a very nice piece. While not a perfect likeness I still see a strong likeness in many areas but I guess that is just my opinion. Thanks for posting that actually makes allot of sense what you said :-)

I'm still kinda up in the air about the whole thing.

Well the lighting is dark in the movie so hard to compare paint tones especially not seeing in real life and the photo you have up against it isnt where his eyes are closed more and looking angry. I think I will take pics of the bust from all angles when I get it to help compare a likeness. I still think the Bust looks incredible

By the way the Artist is sculpting Leonardo next, cant wait to see how he turns out.

I think the sculpt is very good as a piece in itself. The biggest difference between the first movie head that I can see is probably the length from the top of the nose/beak to the mouth. The nose on your bust looks noticeably shorter than the movie Raph. Still... it's much better than the 3rd live-action movie heads TMNT heads!:tgrin:

I just realized I have seen these heads except #3 in person at all angles so I have a different advantage at judging these. I guarentee if you saw the first head in person from the profile and other angles you would think it looked anything like the movie. The second head looked pretty good from the side but front wasnt a good likeness. Head #3 from all the pics I have seen looks pretty close from the front, rear, quarter angles but sides are a little off do to the expression of the mouth with teeth as we have been talking about.
