Ladies & Mutants we have a release date!
I thought I'd take it upon myself to find out when the Classics line is coming out.
It's good to know they will be sold on their website as well since that opens up so many possibilities for a line like this!

It looks very bright!
Expect new highly detailed sculpts, better articulation, and more awesomeness than you can shake a stick at.
The first wave will have the turtles with Shredder and Splinter to follow.
Oh and get this we're getting a line very similar to Dc Universe Classics or even Masters of the Universe Classics.
They are basing them off the old toon for now but I asked if it did well could they pull from other things (Archie) and they said yes.
This guy's one supper impressed fan right now and I just can't wait till you see everything.

Guess I need to get cracking on collecting the past figures, so I can fully focus on the new ones. That is if the world is still around come 2012.

The Archie wave 1 needs Ninjara, the Future Turtles, Armaggon, Verminator X with a Cudley the Cowlick BAF!

I'm not big into figures, but I'm really interested in seeing this oldschool line.

Yes! I was hoping somebody would venture into the gray area of their "contractual agreement" and give us some news about which figures we might be able to expect and in what style they might appear!

So we are tentatively confirmed that Splinter and Shredder will be in the new line, eh, Vaughn? It's no surprise, of course, but it is something for fans to hang their hats on.:)

I am going to be broke...very broke. I can't wait! Vaughn, any news of a collectible-esque line? Meaning, anything that is going to be along the lines of an exclusive set or something?

A MOTUC-ish line would be so effing perfect, can't wait for the first images.... Nnngh!

Depends on what you're referring to. There is no "Archie Line" as some have jumped to the conclusion of.

There is only the slight possibility of an Archie line, which to quote Vernon from The Shredder is Splintered is, "Good enough for me!"

The general subject of the new toyline and an oldschool line. I'm really hoping that it's not some April Fool's crap. :tconfuse:


As for Playmates getting their stuff together, I'm guessing that working with a larger company that has more to safely invest in the overall presentation has something to do with the figures being better than this last generation.

Everything Vaughn has said is legit. I'm not quite sure that everyone has interpreted it correctly, though.

Obviously not. That's easy to do, though, when we're all still really excited about stuff we're not allowed to know about or not allowed to talk about and we all want to talk anyway due to said excitement.

Is Playmates still going to release those Mirage figures, the ones that were to compete with the Neca Turtles?

My thoughts exactly. I loved that line when it hit and now this is, lets just say, trouble :tgrin:

I'm pretty much done with playmates. Their figures have pretty much been crap since they first started (I just didn't notice when I was a kid). As far as the turtles go, the NECA figures were the ultimate figures and I don't think I will ever buy another turtle figure that is not up to par with them.

Well, look on the bright side, if Playmates goes with the 3-toed turtles, at least they won't have the temptation to rehash their old molds!:D

I always felt like their "Mutations" lines were way too similar to one another.

One thing i thought was really cool is that the figures they had there that did stuff actually performed like they were supposed to every time. I don't mind some ninja action turtles as long as they do the ninja action they are supposed to do every time *cough* Fast Forward weapon throwers *cough*

I'm going to have to see it before I fully believe it, just after seeing their attempts at Mirage-inspired figures. I am hopeful though!

I took a ton; I only wish I could share them. Playmates, far as I'm concerned, is back. We're ALL going to go broke very soon.

Did they give any details as to when the public will get to see whats coming out?

Looks like I need to check out Toyfare...again.

I didn't go to the presentation, went in afterwards for some quality play time :) Haven't heard a solid date, but I suspect in conjunction with, or slightly prior, to the new series. Not sure if they announced a date to the group or not, but I can't wait.
