so in that vein, I'd love to open up a new thread! one where we post portraits we've done of ourselves or OTHER PEOPLE"S Forum Avatar.

The only thing i did wanna ask is that you please remember to ASK PERMISSION before you go drawing someone else's avatar. A person's avatar is usually their own original character, and it just makes people happier to know that you NOTICE that and ASKED permission before using it!

Other than that, let's see what your interpretation of our Fellow Forum Members looks like!

My Avater is my comic charactor Whiteshell. I'd be honored If you'd draw a Whiteshell/Tetsu pic for this thread. The link at the bottom of the page is the comic and you'd get a good view of him there.

As for drawing people, heh. you can ask Mouse and SkeletonCrew about this one: i tend to take on projects faster than i FINISH them... heeh... so i've always got a to-do list. but, Tetsu, since you've got a definite character with a background story that you'd posted and i can follow (and i think is a really cool idea :D ) if you'll be patient with me... (and i do mean REALLY patient... SC's been waiting for her birthday drawing for, um, 2 monthes now?) i'd like to take a crack at drawing you!

I hope Cqb doesn't mind too much, but it's hard to draw people without either knowing them well or at least knowing if there's a character or something that they want to be seen as.... cause really, i wouldn't know where to start with his. :-?

but ANYWAYS... this thread isn't just supposed to be MY art... i wanna see your stuff TOO. *Looks happily at Persephohi's* she's got the right idea! if nobody's drawn you, post a SELF-portrait! this one is MOUSE. i've not seen her around for a while, but she's a gargoyle fan in ADDITION to the TMNT. so naturally, her avatar was a gargoyle (heh, her avatar's OLDER than the one i drew, but i couldn't resist) it's BABY MOUSE!!

I had Vespera's permission (and even encouragement :evilgrin: ) to do this one. It's a portrait of VESPERA BLAZE, Vespera's character from the RPG based on her avatar. The Character was a stripper/dancer at a local NY club.... hence the, um... well... you'll see.

Both of those were amazing.
The one of Machi is very Dinosaur like.
Like something out of a sexy version of Dinotopia.
And The Tinsel cat one is just plain cool!

I've seen most of those, they're all very good :D Specially the tinselcat one is very well colored.
I'd do some forum based art...maybe of azure or nturtle because turtles rock :evilgrin: but i'd have to get permission or something.

Heh.. I remeber seeing those two as well.

Oh.. and Tinselcat had done an ink sketch of HT, for me to CGI color awhile back, but of course, it's not colored yet. If you guys are really dying to see, I can post her lineart... :D

Heh heh... I remember a lot of those drawings. Kya 'n HT rock!! I think the only forum sketch I ever did was of Kali. It was a small comic strip that was a precursor (sp?) to Random Silliness. Err... It's badly drawn, though. I can't draw humans very well. Err, demons. :embarass:

1. You type in the URL of your pic, such as http://www.turtlequest.com/art/image...aathankHT2.JPG

2. Then highlight that URL, and look over the buttons above this message box. There should be one called "IMG". Click on that, and it should put [IMG] tags before and after your image URL.

Of course, the site you are linking the image to must allow for direct linking. Since your site is on the Technodrome, you shouldn't have a problem, TC. :D

it's "[img]" then you put the url, then "[/img]" with out the qoutation marks

Ok, i'm doing my forum based art0r rite n0w so if ya dont want your character to be in my pic speak now or STFU forever :evilgrin: (i've already started drawing the mighty mutanimoderators so its too late for azure and HT to escape :P then again azure gave me TEH O-K so i bet he wont mind :D )

Btw that's NT not AZ :p i drew a 'narrow' azure with a narrow mango (i drew it all narrow on purpose in case you're wondering because i thought it was funny) and was gonna add machias and tinselcat but i aint scanning it..i think i rushed it and such, if i do another pic that looks better and makes the characters justice i'll post it, for now you could say the pic was cancelled :P

heh, yaaaaaaay! Nick used unlined paper AND ink! wooo hooo! that enlongated look is a really neat style. El Greco did stuff like that-- uh... back in the day-- and not of Turtles or Mutants. But yeah, you can always pick out his work cause of all the cool string bean people. and the weird color scale... lots of greys and yellows. (he was color blind) not that you're color blind. just that i like the style cause it's neat. *shuts up. no more rambling.*

I like how ht looks, he/she/whatever's serious...however nt looks kinda evil :P OH WELL GIMME A BREAK OR ELSE I'LL CRASH MY CAR.

I agree the tc pic is pretty cool, i also liked the birthday one the most. the kali one doesnt seem to be working for me tho.
