Clancy Brown in TMNT?
 

Rob Paulsen in his most recent podcast said that he has been working with Clancy Brown on the new Turtles show. Who do you think he voices?

Could be Shredder, but I kinda doubt it.

Oh...I could totally hear Clancy as ole Tin Skin.

Sweet. I hope it's a villian. Loved him as The Kurgan in Highlander and as Lex Luthor in Superman:The Animated Series.

Genius! I mentioned my hopes for him in the cast months ago, so I'm pleased.

I just hope it's a main character, or at least a recurring one.

Am I the only one who hopes for an actual Japanese person to voice Shredder? It'd be a nice touch and all :)

I could see him playing Stockman.

Clancy Brown in TMNT?! HECK YEAH! Maybe he's the Kraang?!

The idea of him playing Stockman ain't bad, but you guys have seen Stockman's character design in the storyboards right? His voice just wouldn't mesh with it.

I don't care who he plays. Shredder, Stockman, Krang. Those are roles he can definitely play.:tsmile: I'm just hoping he does the Shredder, though.

Was it you who said they read Hob as Clancy Brown? I can hear Hob sounding like Clancy as Wolf from Gargoyles.

Well anyway. I think Clancy Brown is a good choice for Splinter. I'm quite familiar with a lot of his work. Just got to see how he does though.

I wonder if he'll be Hun...though i don't know if they'd wanna use him again so soon. He'd make a great Hun.

Oh, so Splinter has been cast. This is new. Well I guess Shredder comes to mind. But he does seem really fitting for Hun. But I doubt he'll be in this show. The Kraaaaang?.... Eh, I guess all we could do is wait.

Maybe he's playing an as of yet unspecified role. Maybe a government agent, out to hunt the Turtles (kinda like Bishop).

Hmm, sounds interesting. I don't think I've ever heard of Clancy, but if he's as good as you say, he'll be a good fit for TMNT no matter who he plays.

Suffice it to say, if you've ever seen the original Highlander or watched any American cartoon in the past 15 years, you probably have come across him. His voice is pretty distinctive, but like most voice actors, he has range that is never taken advantage of (I was surprised to find that he voiced Super Moose in Jackie Chan Adventures).

Indeed. Clancy is the DCAU's Lex Luthor, Mr. Krabs, Wolf from Gargoyles (and his evil viking ancestor) and of course there's the Kurgan and other movie roles.

And I know of Clancy from three places you guys haven't mentioned. First there's the prison guard in The Shawshank Redemption. Then Brother Justin from the HBO-series Carnivàle. And then he also played Long Feng on 5 eps of Avatar: The Last Airbender.

So yeah, he's been around :P

He was in the new Nightmare on Elm Street...which Jugith Hoag was also in. :D And Wolfie would kill me if I failed to mention he was in the Biker Mice From Mars relaunch which stars Rob "Raph-atello" Paulsen.

Oh, speaking of Rob, I've asked him on facebook and twitter about Clancy and he hasn't responded yet.

Don't forget the fact that the producers for Nightmare are the producers on the nw turtles movie.

Oh, okay, I remember Undertow from Little Mermaid II, and I now remember him in that PPG episode. Then he'll be a great addition to TMNT. Thanks for the link.
