New Years Eve Plans?

What's everybody doin' to bring in 2012 this season?

I have always had quiet nights at home with my parents & grandmother, enjoying myself but never really partying. This year, however, I'm going downtown to join in the festivities. Two things baited me there, one being that I'm 21 now and can properly celebrate, the other is that George Clinton & The Parliament Funkadelic are headlining the night. That's something I reeeeeeeally wanna experience. I'm expecting to have a blast.

Anyway, hope you all cap off 2011 on a positive note, stay safe, and make some good memories.

Machias Banshee 12-28-2011 09:03 PM

I'm not into the partying... I like a Quiet night at home with the family, drinking egg nog and enjoying a good bonfire. :)

I'm gonna follow through with last year's resolution progress. Continue losing the stress weight from college, get my adobe certification, and read more!

Likely nothin at all cept working

mysterycolor 12-29-2011 02:11 AM

my hubby has to work 11p-7a new years eve so that sucks some of the fun out of the night lol but as is usually the case some drinking and laid back fun with friends will do the trick. to those of you that do go out, please PLEASE do not drink and drive... it is not worth it... best wishes for a great holiday to each and every dromer!

Candy Kappa 12-29-2011 03:32 AM

got work, luckily I'm done 4 o'clock. Me and my girlfriend might invite some friends, we're a bit late on that :P

Master Splinter 12-29-2011 08:23 AM

I'm not feeling too good so i will probably just hang out at home with my wife and kid.

ToTheNines 12-29-2011 09:21 AM

I hate New Year's. There's always a million parties and none of my friends can agree where to go, putting me in the awkward situation of having to choose who to hang with.

BubblyShell22 12-29-2011 10:12 AM

Just hanging out at home with my parents. While I'd love to spend the day with my BF, we can't because of the drunk drivers. If I stayed there, I'd have to spend the night, and I just don't feel comfortable doing that. But we'll see each other the week after for the holidays, so that's good.

IamtheNorm 12-29-2011 01:05 PM

Hang out at home with the wife and kids, maybe play some kinect games and let the kids watch the last few seconds of the ball droping. Then off to bed.

SherlockJr 12-29-2011 02:04 PM

We usually have a little family get-together at the house. Not much really.

Donnie 12-29-2011 02:47 PM

I have no plans yet! My girlfriend and I can't decide what we wanna do. Something low key, that's my preference.

Cowabunga Carl 12-29-2011 03:08 PM

I plan on coming home after work and watching some Doctor Who.

Chipzard 12-31-2011 09:42 AM

I'm sick, so I'll be staying in playing some Star Wars: The Old Republic and eating Chinese food.

pannoni1 12-31-2011 09:57 AM

I've only been out of town once for New Year's: the Magic Kingdom at WDW for 2004-2005. At least people pay high prices to make it a safe appearance. Many public festivals are somewhat dangerous since how mad/crazy most people are, plus you have to watch out for drunk drivers after it's over. I don't really like New Year's because that means you're getting OLDER and those nostalgic days pass one year further into the annals of history. At least it means that we should get an update for the Nick series soon!

I'm sick aswell. I always am this time of year. Some orange chicken sounds good though...:D

SassyGal 12-31-2011 11:17 AM

Ram Bam and I are going to have a quiet night playing video games and eating Chinese food. Tomorrow we'll be ging to a family brunch with my family. It's a tradition that I love and is the perfect way to start a new year. :)

Ninjinister 12-31-2011 11:34 AM

Yak on the phone with my bestie like I do every year.

Zany Orange Dude 12-31-2011 03:00 PM

Plan on hanging out at home watching the Marx Brothers movie marathon! Then I'll play some video games and laugh about something....what that something is I'll find out when I laugh about it.:D

SherlockJr 12-31-2011 03:23 PM

I'm watching the Marx Bros marathon on TCM, then I'll try to write more of the short story I've been working on. Tomorrow's when the family'll be coming over.

BubblyShell22 12-31-2011 05:07 PM

I'm going to watch the Dick Clark New Year's Rockin' Eve show like I do every year. I'll watch the ball drop at eleven my time and then go to bed.

Powder 12-31-2011 08:17 PM

Thanks to not having a ride, my plans fell through. Not a big surprise. So instead I am gonna sit in my room drinking 40's solo.
Prolly bump some tunes, maybe a little gaming. Cheers!

XERO 12-31-2011 08:32 PM

I'm at home. Yay.

Machias Banshee 12-31-2011 11:07 PM

Well, I raise a toast to everyone here on the east coast!

Happy New Year!!

Cowabunga Carl 12-31-2011 11:21 PM

I'm just staying in and watching TV with my Dad. But I hope and wish you all a safe and happy new year.

XERO 01-01-2012 12:02 AM

Happy New Year, everybody! :D

AcidBurn30 01-01-2012 01:35 AM

i know i have to get ready for the new tmnt stuff for my channel reviews.

BubblyShell22 01-01-2012 08:19 AM

Happy New Year, everyone. I hope it's shelltastic for all of you.

I did just what I said I was going to do. Watched the ball drop and went to bed. Today I'm not going to really do anything. Mom's probably going to watch the Rose Parade, and I'm sure she and Dad will watch some Bowl Games. I'm just going to watch other stuff if anything's on. We're planning on having Italian beef sandwiches for lunch, and I hope that tonight Mom will make the Hormel chili dip. That's always a good tradition to have.

My fiancee and I had my mum, sister, my sister's partner and their two kids round to ours. Dana, my partner, is pregnant so we decided on a night in, and invited my family round because my sister had us all round for christmas. My nieces are nearly five and 9 weeks old, so it was a quiter night than usual.

There was music, drinks, food, and we took in the bells with the lights off, looking out the window at four different sets of fireworks (we stay on the fourth floor with one wall made up of seven windows in the living room, its an amazing view of most of Aberdeen.) We're right next to the harbour, so we could hear all the ships setting off their horns. A coupla neighbours came through (first footing) with stovies and drink, and we all hit the sack about 4am. (My nieces were asleep a lot earlier than that though!)

So all in all, a good hogmanay!

I actually started feeling better and went out and had a good time with some family. Played some pool and got some drinks in. All and all a good night.

Wow. Glad you had fun, MS, and that you were feeling better.
