gobo's ULTIMATE TMNT-VIDEO MARATHON!!
If I post about it now, I'm more likely to stick with this plan.
So, I'm planning to watch every official TMNT video production I can get ahold of over the summer, in preparation for NickTMNT. So, let's go through the list to see what I have access to and what I don't.
Anything else need to go in the list? I need to do some calculating to see how long I should give myself to accomplish all this. By the time I'm done, I'll probably be too numb to notice right away if NickTMNT was even worth watching. :P BTW, do ya think I should be concerned that I have this kinda time on my hands? O_o |

Also, what are these Christopher Films "barney wanna be" episodes you speak of? |

Oh! And, I plan to watch every single bit of it 8' wide. ^_^

Don't forget to watch all of the Playmates, FHE promos, and other TMNT commercials as they were all officially licensed products. I'd also throw in certain voice actor interviews, such as my videos I posted as it contains some hypothetical questions as the character itself. Don't forget the Power Rangers crossover as well from the Next Mutation era. I'd basically spend about two months straight watching everything.
Everything done that you listed comes out to approximately 8500 minutes. But there is also around 700 minutes of voice actor/creators/crew members interviews from me, Michelle, and others that you should watch on Youtube that are related to TMNT. So, that's about 9200 minutes altogether of TMNT, or about 153 hours total! Basically, if you spend three months, you can watch about 100 minutes a day, or about 4/5 episodes or one movie and see it all and still have some free time. |

But you can't beat Raphael imitating Groucho Marx, lol. April's really funny too. Not to mention: Donatello: Hey Michelangelo, aren't ya buying a ticket? Michelangelo: Don't have to, dude, I already bought an RTD monthly pass! Donatello: Ohhhh! Lol  |
Rounding all episodes up to 30 minutes each (not including movie and such), they would take 139 hours, back-to-back. I honestly thought it would be more than that. :ohwell: So, spreading it all out over the summer, it should be a piece of cake. :D

At least his little device is the Giga-meter Egon uses in Ghostbusters II, that was cool. The stupidest thing about it is the Turtles living in LA with no explanation. |

I would throw in 'Cartoon All-Stars To The Rescue' just for good measure.

I just watched Project Blue Line, I actually found out about it just now by looking at the VHS page of Ninjaturtles.com and now I find that it was part of James' Turtle Tuesday and posted in this thread. Anyways, while it's great to hear the original voices, something like this wouldn't even be known about if it wasn't for the internet. The quality is of that of a low budget stage show but since it was only made for promoting something local it makes sense, in fact I'm surprised they got the VAs. Kind of a neat thing to watch but really bad as in those Batman serials bad.
The Bee media OVA's are the japanese episodes right? Good luck, I watched TNM and 2k3 last year as well as the movies and I'm finishing off this year with the OT the movies again and the turtle musicals this year. Next year my plan is to tackle the comics, Mirage, Archie, IDW. |
Gobo, do you have fan dub of the Anime?

I briefly checked last weekend, and Next Mutation doesn't look as bad as Jackie Chan Adventures 8' wide. I guess live-action garbage just gets better treatment than animation.
|
i wish we could get Next Mutation up here on Netflix!
|
Don't forget Chaotic Power Special: TMNT Reveal Codes.

To figure out how many minutes and hours it would take to watch all of that is something I wouldn't expect many to do. When I saw 'Next Mutation' was on Netflix, I decided to give it a try. I watched maybe 10 minutes of it and turned it off. I couldn't stand it. |
Someone reminded me about this a few weeks back. Time gets away from me. Still plan on doing it. Currently waiting for my remastered OT DVDs to get here from Germany. Also, I think I'm gonna just skip anything I have to rely on VHS (movie tie-ins) or YouTube for. I pretty much despise ugly, marked-up video.
So, that leaves me with:
And, I hope to have it all done by the premiere of Nick's show, 12 weeks from yesterday. |
Good Luck Sir!
Last time I tried watching the complete Fred Wolf Toon as a Marathon I had to abort in Mid Season 4 because I couldn't stand the bad animated episodes any more (even though the good Season 5 wasn't that far away anymore...) |
i suggest u post them here so we can share.

Advice is when you're in the mood and you know you can watch a few more do it, because there's days where you can only take one or two episodes tops. Especially true when you reach OT S4 and FF. |

I really hope gobo makes it , it looks like a dangerous feat, he might end up really fed up with TMNT by the time the new show starts. |

TNM: ep 1
So, slight change of plans... Since my German OT DVDs are taking forever to get here, I've decided to watch the most offensive versions first. While watching TNM ep 1, I noticed that it wasn't quite as insufferable as I remembered. Could it be that they actually reduced the annoying sfx/ep ratio? :teek: I was a tad surprised to find out that "it's ninja time" was said in this show. I think Mike said it. And, sdp... Unless the instrumental to the lame, new techno theme was used in the eps before, then more than just the theme song was replaced.
|
I noticed watching a few episodes on Netflix when they were first added that the five-episode mini-series actually doesn't use as many wacky sound effects. They're there, but they aren't nearly as common, and most actions seem to make an approximation of the noise they actually should.
If only the entire series had taken this approach. Anyway, as soon as episode six comes around, get ready for the very literal bells and whistles. |
