Infestation 2: TMNT #1 discussion thread.

Out today... for some people. Anyone get ahold of this?

Here's a preview, in case you haven't seen in.

DonatelloFan 03-07-2012 01:37 PM

When the Wifey gets home, I'm going to check my local comic book store. Hopefully they'll have it.

What are the covers for the issue?

A was by Menton3, B was by Livio Ramondelli, and Torres did the RI cover.

Thank you Roseangelo. That's what I was looking for. Thank you ToTheNines for helping, too. I'd like to get the most uncommon comics when they all come out, but this time I think I'm going to try getting Cover B.

I appreciated the preview, especially from a Mirage character perspective, as...

Spoiler:
We get to see Lauren Stanton, and I assume that's Lt. Miller the press is speaking to on Page 4.

Glad to see Tristan Jones' name in the titles, and glad he gave us a few "Easter Eggs," so to speak.

junkboy 03-07-2012 03:03 PM

Was not able to order it this week. Not in stock
Hopefully will be next week.

DonatelloFan 03-07-2012 03:05 PM

So my comic book shop said they sold out. I hate going to eBay for a comic, but I guess that's what I have to do.

VaughnMichael 03-07-2012 03:39 PM

Looks really good but what universe is this taking place in?
I ask this since Splinter has brown fur and not gray like the usual idw Splinter.

I highly doubt they sold out first day since there was a distribution issue and one of the guys from IDW said that if a shop didn't get it this week, should be in the next.

Checked with my comic shop and they did not get any in. My guess is that I live in the region effected by the distribution issue. I checked with 2 different comic shops

Probobly just artist' interpretation. Like how Mikey's 8 feet tall in his micro, and Casey is a beautiful man-boy in Raph's issue.

Raph's Girl 03-07-2012 04:01 PM

Midtown has it on their site as coming out next week. :ohwell:

Eiko 03-07-2012 04:04 PM

I will hopefully be receiving this issue next week.

DonatelloFan 03-07-2012 05:33 PM

Yes, the comic shop said they came in, but I'm guessing they didn't order that many, or it's really popular. Because they said it came in, but they're sold out.

Any good online dealers I can get comics from, besides mycomicshop.com (which seems to be out of everything)?

What in the world? Inconsistency much?

Lmao...

Yeah, it's in the IDW universe. Bobby said it was, plus Michelangelo makes reference to Old Hob.

Hey, it sold out in my LCS at Louisville too! Fortunately, I requested that they always hold an issue of TMNT content for me!

ToTheNines 03-07-2012 07:35 PM

So let me get this straight.

The book was not shipped to Maryland, New York, Texas, or Illinois

The book was shipped to Kentucky, Tennessee, and Missouri.

Any California/Washington people want to confirm or deny?

Aww, I guess that means I have to wait until next week to buy the issue...

Since I'm getting into the new comics, I think that's what I'm going to do now.

Cowabunga Carl 03-07-2012 08:43 PM

Picking mine up tomorrow. So excited for this one. Tristian is one of my favorite writers. Can't wait to see what he does with the IDW TMNT.

IamtheKnight 03-07-2012 08:52 PM

According to http://www.newenglandcomics.com/cgi-...n=1&1=20120307 it looks like my state, which is Massachusetts won't be getting it this week or next week.

Mutant_Hero_Turtle95 03-07-2012 09:46 PM

My town doesn't have a comic shop but it has a Hastings I couldn't find the issue so I have to wait a little while till they get more copies:tsad:.

rich 03-07-2012 09:47 PM

I got it in Colorado.

DonatelloFan 03-07-2012 09:58 PM

I never thought to look at Hastings. I'll check that out tomorrow. Otherwise I'm going to reluctantly purchase it off of eBay.

I think other Hastings sell comics too. And ebays always my second option if I cant find it at Hastings.

Cowabunga Carl 03-07-2012 10:10 PM

I'll check my shop tomorrow when I'm there and see if he has any extra. I'd be willing to help people out if he does.

Here's my review of Infestation 2: TMNT #1

Really liked it. Jones definitely researched his Lovecraft before writing this.

Wait you're in Virginia though, right?

IGN (headquartered in San Francisco) didn't have any IDW reviews for this week.

This Diamond stuff is screwy...

Samhain 03-08-2012 06:07 AM

I'll be picking this up next week for sure. Besides Tmnt, horror is my main thing. Hence my username.:D

Ninjinister 03-08-2012 12:49 PM

Trist', you have been able to balance the fine line between writing a Lovecraftian tale with tons of reference, without being overly heavy-handed about it. That is very tough to attain and you deserve all the kudos possible.

BAXTER STOCKMAN 19 03-08-2012 01:54 PM

Just read it. It reminded me Notes from Underground from 4kids cartoon. Also it is the first time in the IDW series tha the story was not complete in one issue. At the end it says to be continued so it will continue at next issue. In this issue the turtles explore some abandoned tunells in the sewers and the fight some big ugly monsters! Just like what happend in Notes from Underground.

The origin took several issues to complete... And I am pretty sure #7 left us with a cliff hanger...

Hmm, you raise an interesting question Vaughn; the Transformers issues take place in the Hearts of Steel universe, which is an alternate timeline where the bots woke up during the Industrial Revolution.

We very well could be holding in our hands the very first "Mirage" story published by IDW. :twink:

Toby Barrett 03-08-2012 06:11 PM

I guess if Old Hob is a character in Mirage, sure.

Oculus Orbus 03-08-2012 07:51 PM

Weird as it sounds, I got it (all three covers) in London today. I took for granted that international distribution was also gonna be delayed, but apparently it hasn't.

MattLawrence 03-08-2012 07:53 PM

got it here in North Carolina, i really enjoyed it !
