Who remembers the "Coming Out of their Shells" concert?
 

I remembered when i was 9 i heard about the Turtles concert coming over here in my city and i was excited that i had my mom buy me a ticket and i went there and had a blast seeing my heroes on stage.

I even got the cassette soundtrack and a program which i still own as a collector's item.

Not me! And, proud of it! ^_^

Yup! I was in 1st grade when I went with my mom, and her friend with her kids as well. I remember having a blast, and getting nervous when shredder would come out lol I still own both, vhs and the soundtrack cassete tapes.

I wish I had the program still.. I probably lost it when I was younger.

I have the VHS but I haven't watched it in who knows how long... Wonder if still works . But my favorite TMNT VHS is behind the shells the making of TMNT II

But who actually saw them live in concert?

I saw it and LOVED IT, haters can suck it. Mindless, dumb fun at the height of Turtle-Mania, not meant to be taken even a little bit seriously.

"You Can Count On Us", still a great song to this day. I wish I had a CD copy of the cassette.

Pretty sure "flying saucer food delight" is still my favorite line in any song ever.

I remember my parents took me to a concert at the Civic Center in our town but the turtles weren't actually there. We all sat concert style but instead of a live action performance, there were video monitors and we all watched the concert on the big screens. I don't remember if it was the COOTS tour or down in your town but it was definitely exciting.

I do. I was obsessed with it when I was younger and used to rent it from Blockbuster all the time when I was little. I got my hands on a VHS copy a few years ago and then had my friends dad convert it to dvd for me, so now I'll have it forever, haha.

i didn't see the actual tour, but i do remember the "turtles" being at a mall or something. and a lot of kids were there, and even the news. i was really young though so all the details are quite sketchy. anyone have similar memories or know what i'm talking about?

i did see the vhs eventually, albeit as a more cynical teenager, and... ok if you liked it, good for you, i'm not trying to argue... but i thought it was kind of pointless. i understand it wasn't meant to be taken seriously but it was just joyless for me. mostly because the songs are just god-awful. again, my opinion.

Never lived close enough to even hear about them.

I kind of wish I hadn't wasted my time with it. God was it bad.

Just had the cassette tape soundtrack. As an adult, I found the Tour video and watched it.

I absolutely remember this, though i did not actually get to witness it...which is a bit surprising because my mother took me & my brother to many weird shows around that time (can you say mario bros. on ice?)... still have the cassette tape and get a kick out of the tunes :)

I did and it was so long ago I barely recall any of it, but I know mom and I had awesome seats and I had a great time

Well, if your a kid, what does it matter? How does a kid "waste his time" watching a concert, with their favorite heroes? Did you just view the video? Just curious. Because it was unforgettable, if you were a kid and sitting right there. Singing, "PIZZA POWER!", while they shot out some prizes in the audience.. I'll always remember this experience.

I saw it live with my very awesome mom, and it was one of the best times I had in my childhood! :twink:

I never saw the concert live but I would have if it had come closer. I really enjoyed that tape even though it was corny. Innocence actually existed back then.

I feel I was the perfect age to be a TMNT fan back then as I was old enough to properly (and age justified) enjoy all the comics and the cartoons without either being too young when the craze was just starting to die down around 93-94 and not too old when it first starting gaining momentum. Never like being a kid in the 80's.

Never saw it , when I look those vids up on youtube I feel ashamed :p
Offcourse seeing that as a kid must be a blast ..
