New turtle movie: what do you want to see first
 

There are multiple threads that disscusss the alien origin, and the look what do you want to see first, how the turtles will look, or if their aliens or not?

Note, if you put other, please explain what you are talking about.

I'm definitely more interested to see how they'll look. When all is said and done, I'd more than likely be ok with any change in origin, assuming it was explained properly and worked for the movie's story. I'm more worried about how they'll look. I want them to be familiar and look good, but at the same time I don't wouldn't want to force them to be exactly like any of the previous incarnations either.

i think i wanna c the story 1st...since its gonna be live action, i don't expect they will make them look more realistic than cgi...

I'd rather a sneek peak of their appearance before anything else. But not the whole thing, I wanna be surprised a bit in the theater.

The story more then anything for me.

I can agree with the "What do these Turtles look like." angle. Trailers almost give too much away anymore. I just wanna see the guys.

I want to know if they're aliens or not. If they finally happen to be aliens, I'll be ready to see some major changes in the way they look.

I'm anxious to see what they look like. Jim Henson's Creature Shop will always remain tops in my book.

I'd have to go with looks. When it gets down to it, if the Turtles look too weird or ridiculous, I'm probably not going to enjoy the film as much. I'm both excited for and anxious about the CGI. If it looks as amazing and realistic as what they did in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, this could be one hell of a TMNT film.

Realistic looking Ninja Turtles would be awful.

It's not lost on me that giant Turtles wearing bandannas are, by default, ridiculous. But surely you'd agree there are good-looking interpretations of the TMNT and there are bad-looking (i.e. weird/ridiculous) interpretations of the TMNT, no? That's all I meant. For example, if the Turtles in TMNT III looked more like the Turtles in TMNT 1 or 2, I would have enjoyed the film a lot more than I did.

I completely agree, No I’m not real thrilled about The Ninja turtles not being “Mutant Ninja Turtles”….. But if the story is good, and they can sort of tie it together I‘ll deal with it…. But the Character design is a real big deal to me…
I don’t want them to be hideous…. Or have alien bug eyes! I mean, I had a childhood Crush on Raphael so… I want them to remain “Cute” as I’d refer to it, Lol!:tlol:
I guess I want them to basically go with the 1st and 2nd movie design…. Not to say they can’t improve on it though. I know lots of you can’t stand the last CGI movie… But the Turtles looked pretty awesome in my book…. (We will not talk about what I think everyone else looked like).
Also though… I don’t want this movie to seem like a cartoon…. I want to Believe the Turtles are real While I watch the movie for the frist time, lol!!!! Just like Mr. Turtle!!!!!:D

What the hell is so wrong with the Nick designs? Aside from the feet it's pretty much the same sh*t.

yea, but i dont see the issue with the nick designs. i think they look like crap in the renders that ive seen, but the designs themselves dont look bad.

Well said, Sir. I'm in complete agreement. The whole "TMNT by nature IS ridiculous" argument is so old and tired. Yeah - we get that. However, that doesn't mean that they must be pigeon-hold as "campy" and/or "comedic" only.

If that happened - I have to be honest - I probably would boycott the movie.

The alien thing will be quite annoying but visually if they at least look proper I can maybe look past it. It really all depends on how well it's written and the style of the film.

They could have been care bears in a previous life for all I care..but if they look like that,it's pretty much over..

... I would kind of like a OT film, just a kids film, G rated, no blood, no cussing. No hideously ugly designs like the ones posted in this thread so far.

I think that would be nice.

Character design is paramount (no pun intended) with a project like this. If they have kickass designs, then it would help soften the blow of a butchered origin.
