Special prime-time Friday premier?

Seen this on TVGuide: http://www.tvguide.com/detail/tv-sho...odeid=20876166

Says the show's gonna air @8 PM on Friday (9-28 ). Thoughts?

I'm ****ing ecstatic if this is true, means I can actually watch it live.

CyberCubed 09-15-2012 07:49 PM

Wow Nick is going all out here. I think every Friday could be a rerun of last Saturday's episode for people who miss it, it is a clever tactic used before online streaming was invented.

Jester 09-15-2012 07:51 PM

That and it's yet another sign that this Turtle series will go on until the aliens who seed life on this planet come back for the Harvest of Memnon.

gobo 09-15-2012 07:54 PM

Cool. Zap2it doesn't seem to know anything about it though.

CyberCubed 09-15-2012 07:55 PM

Nick is definitely expecting a big hit if they're airing it on two different times lots for kids.

This is fantastic news, I almost feel like I am 8 years old again. Hopefully they keep this Friday slot for reruns of last weeks episodes.

gobo 09-15-2012 07:59 PM

^ I've always felt like you're 8 years old.

Drose18 09-15-2012 08:08 PM

This is great!!!

TMNT_Guy 09-15-2012 08:20 PM

So, instead of 9/29 in the mourning, it will air on 9/28 in the afternoon?

Awesome!

Jester 09-15-2012 08:23 PM

I'm in morning because I just decided to disconnect cable to save on my bills.

:D

Cowabunga Carl 09-15-2012 08:28 PM

I'm excited. Can't wait to see this. I really hope it will be on ondemand also. I plan on watching the crap out of this. Well unless it isn't good. But I usually give everything about five episodes before I decide if I'm going to watch or not.

How is 8pm the afternoon?

TurtleTitan97 09-15-2012 08:55 PM

This is awesome!

IamtheKnight 09-15-2012 09:05 PM

This sucks for me because I have a night class at my college.

Victorsaurus 09-15-2012 09:13 PM

Special indeed.
Then it turns out to be the 1rst 5 minutes or a collection of the promos.

Machias Banshee 09-15-2012 10:58 PM

Ooh, this would be fantastic.. I have to teach kids music on Saturdays, so if I can catch it on Friday that'd be great...

zkarlette 09-15-2012 11:41 PM

I was probably going to DVR it and watch it at night anyways..so this works. I wonder if it's not a typo or something..

BAXTER STOCKMAN 19 09-16-2012 04:14 AM

Why they decided to air it on September 29 instead of September 29?

To make people in Greece super jelly.

Zulithe 09-16-2012 04:45 AM

I wish Nick had the rights to do a full TMNT history retrospective before the premier to get people up-to-speed on the turtles. It could cover the original comics, then on through the films and tv series, with interviews and stuff.

But then I remember that this is a kids show and only like 100 people on earth would even care :P

Powder 09-16-2012 04:56 AM

...Nick OWNS the f*cking turtles. They 'have the rights' to do anything, including just that. Besides, haven't you heard of "Turtle Power", the documentary?

Nick owns TMNT 100%. The cartoons, the comics, everything.

The only thing they don't have the rights to air/release is the original cartoon which Lionsgate holds onto, and Next Mutation which Saban holds onto.

But since those are on DVD it doesn't matter as much.

rufus 09-16-2012 09:54 AM

They do not own the 4 theatrical films.

plasticturtle 09-16-2012 10:53 AM

This is great! I hope they keep that slot for showing reruns of the previous week's episode. I'm not usually able to watch TV on Saturday mornings and I'd hate to have to miss the new series.

Zany Orange Dude 09-16-2012 01:32 PM

This is awesome!:tgrin:

gobo 09-16-2012 02:07 PM

Oddly, Zap2it knows nothing of this primetime showing, but TVGuide has the Saturday morning showing replaced with something else now. :P I still believe it though.

HerpDerp 09-16-2012 02:13 PM

Given that they've been plugging the date 9/29 for months now, and are continuing to do so (I saw a promo a few minutes ago), I'm still not convinced that this isn't just an error made by TV Guide.

It's called a sneak peek or early showing, the official debut is still Saturday.

TV stations do this all the time.

Similar to how NBC showed new Fall pilots after the olympics.

Donatello19 09-16-2012 03:36 PM

Whenever Nick gets a new show they premiere it a day earlier, but call it a special preview, and then have the official premiere the day after. i don't know if they're going to do it with the turtles though, as every commercial says 9.29

Lethal Lullaby 09-16-2012 03:40 PM

Oh this is just too good to be true!

bloodstainedwings 09-16-2012 04:01 PM

I hope I get to see this show. I will not be able to catch it on tv so...... I have to use other means........

Drose18 09-16-2012 04:44 PM

I want to, but dont believe this.

According to tvguide.com, it's playing at primetime on Friday instead of Saturday morning.

shezcrafti 09-16-2012 11:01 PM

Wow, this would be amazing if true.

I don't have cable/sat right now so I will probably buy them on itunes. I hope they are in 1080p. I'll get the season pass if they offer that.

Luzmagica 09-17-2012 02:09 AM

Nice!!!!! :thyper: :thyper: :thyper: :tparty: :tthumbsu: :tthumbsu: :tlove:  :tgrin: !!!! The sooner the better!

chrisdude 09-17-2012 05:10 AM

Well, I share the HD with three other dudes, so Saturday morning is infinitely better for me. I'm a morning person. These dudes watch football and stuff every night. But I'll make it work...
