Dogpound what happened?

Compared the the turtles or most others he looks terrible. How did this lump of a Toy story reject get released into the tmnt line?.

Zulithe 10-20-2012 12:56 AM

I'm trying to reserve my opinions on him until his animal form debuts in the show.

His design is a bit different from what I am used to, though.

lol I can't believe you said Toy Story reject, I thought the same thing

CyberCubed 10-20-2012 11:35 PM

Playmates is terrible as usual, what else is new?

Sanny632 10-21-2012 08:05 AM

The worst thing is I just bought a general trag and a triCeratron the both look far better than this 2012 toy?

Yeah its pretty sad. The Turtles came out so well and they just phoned in the rest of the line:cry:. Its 2012 and the Shredder has no knee articulation.
The Kraang and Fishface are equally bad. The Foot soldier could have been a great troop builder but as a ninja its a joke. I hope it improves a little bit in the future.

Venom 10-23-2012 12:39 PM

The thing that perplexed me is Dog Pound's arms: the shoulder articulation is at a different angle than the left arm, making his right arm perpetually turned inward rather than being able to hive his bicep face forward.

Oh well, he's just going to be sitting on a shelf or put in a box anyway.

Anyone else noticed the overspray on the paint application?

Of the 3 that Wal-Mart had, 1 had a deeper brown paint job than the other 2, even covering most if his right hand. That's the one I chose because his teeth looked reasonably good as well.

Also, why not paint his shoulder straps, Playmates? Why?!

Thank you. I hate the new Shredder cause of that. Foot Soldier and the Kraang android looks great because it reminds me of the TCRI robots from Mirage which is awesome that we finally have figures for those guys.

Yeah, that back filecard should have a HUGE spoiler alert on it.

Yeah, I love the new UTROM figures (that's what I'm going to call them and no one can stop me)! I hope they make some other variations of them, like with the upcoming Lego figures with human-looking outers, battled-damaged and showing them inside, tattered.

...and a sound-FX one too, while I'm demanding things!

cryan 10-24-2012 04:07 PM

For the record.Out of the 3 newer figures I only picked up Metalhead.

same here.

I really like the Dogpound figure. I think he should have been painted a little better but that is neither here nor there. Over all I think he is a good figure.

I agree 100%.

I agree. Compared to the rest of the figures released, he's pretty much in line with what we can expect, I think. Sure the paint could be better, but it's not like Playmates has always painted all of the sculpted details.

Metropoliskid41 11-01-2012 03:47 PM

I don't plan on buying him, but the one thing I noticed when I saw him at Wal Mart the other day is how heavy he is. When I picked up the packaged figure it feels like he ways at least twice as much as the other figures in the line.

I think I'll be sticking with Metalhead and passing on Dogpound and Fishface.

And yeah Shredder, yikes that figure blows.

synthalus 11-10-2012 11:57 AM

I love the new Fish Face figure. Dog Pound is ok.
I still have to see Metal Head in hand to decide if I want him or not.

I like the Kraang pink brain figure itself a lot, but the endoskeleton is so so because it looks too small to me and the articulation it has makes it almost like statue with the static pose it has just to stand.

I may want the 4 new Turtles because I really like the details and the facesculpts. They are easily among the best, but the oversized feet and hands and the 3 toes make me indecisive towards buying them.

April, I'm not sure of because she is completely different and I don't even see her as April.

The ones I don't want to buy for sure:
I hate the new Shredder and Splinter figures because of the sculpts, articulation, and paint applications. The 200X Splinter and the 200X Shredder with chrome removable armor are so much better imo. The Foot Soldier is awful imo because of the T-shirt and shorts and limited articulation.

TheCanadiandrome 11-11-2012 06:46 PM

I watched Pixel Dans review of this fig and even he says that playmates seriously lacked in color but other wise he liked it. I think he said it best when he said no matter what the completists will want to own it

Donatello19 11-11-2012 08:23 PM

They probably had to cut back on paint because of the size of the figure.

That's what Dan said in his review

go_ninja84 12-24-2012 04:20 PM

wow interesting....i actually kinda liked Dogpound not the character the figure

pannoni1 12-24-2012 05:37 PM

Dogpound is considered "All New" by Turtles standards and would only be familiar with casuals who have seen him on the cartoon. That's why Metalhead has sold comparatively well. But like the Shredder Dogpound has no knee articulation. The unpainted belt on his body is the worst example of the poor paint job. This figure also requires some assembly.

Shogun26 12-24-2012 07:36 PM

I was at target today and they only had 1it dogpound left.. i left it.
