tmnt annual?

yo dudes and dudettes!

Im sorry if such a thread already existed, I was surching for it a few pages but decided instead to start this new one..
that way the first who comes across it can post the preview of the annual!it s out in two days and there is ZERO about it on the internet, that cant be true, can it?
could someone at least post again the two page glimpse we got on idw forums, please?
are you all as excited as me?

Metropoliskid41 10-29-2012 11:47 AM

Yeah its weird that there hasn't been a preview for the Annual or #15 yet, hopefully we'll get both today from IDW.

zodach 10-29-2012 01:25 PM

I have the regular and the 25 copy RI variant listed as filled but not yet shipped in my DCBService account so it should be coming this week for sure. I can't wait to get them, but it probably won't be until late this week.

strugler 10-29-2012 05:52 PM

i will be posting a preview of this beauty (its a massive 72 pages black and white blast from the past) at midnight central, on my website www.tmntlair.com

TMNT is cooler than MOTU 10-29-2012 07:35 PM

It's on Diamond's list for this week so it'll be at your local shop on Wednesday if they ordered it.

It was originally solicited as 48 pages, but upped it 12 pages to 60. Did it get upped 12 MORE pages??

Metropoliskid41 10-29-2012 08:37 PM

That would be awesome. 72 pages would make the $9 price tag a little better. Dark Horse Presents is usually 80 pages for $8.

natecm 10-29-2012 08:44 PM

60 awesome pages.

okguy456 10-29-2012 09:04 PM

hell i'd be super happy with 60. and ecstatic with 72!

funatic 10-29-2012 11:03 PM

is the RI cover just b&w inks of the regular cover? or different art entirely?

marcelangelo 10-30-2012 01:17 AM

thanks for the annual sneek peak!looks really good!

CyberCubed 10-30-2012 01:27 AM

Good old, Kevin, there's spelling errors in the editorial. PL said Kevin was notorious for being a bad speller, some things never change. Gotta love Eastman. :D

Abnormal Freak 10-30-2012 02:34 AM

Hell, every Eastman comic ever has awful spelling and punctuation. I was almost hoping IDW would leave his script untouched to give it that extra Eastman nostalgic touch, but I figured they'd edit all the errors, heh.

Mayhem 10-30-2012 04:27 AM

Hopefully I'll get both versions (and then worry about the Jetpack releases), my comic store is only ordering in the regular edition but said they will be especially sourcing a 1:25 for me because I'm a regular customer :)

marcelangelo 10-30-2012 08:06 AM

woah, it really moves me in a positive way reading kevins dedication on this book...solely for peter!
that is soo good to read..

sykosis 10-30-2012 08:13 AM

What's an annual usually consist of? Is this the IDW comics?

frank_one 10-30-2012 08:20 AM

"Dedicated to Peter Laird". Peter dedicated the first issue of volume 4 to Kevin. Moving.

AquaParade 10-30-2012 10:49 AM

I also thought the dedication to Peter was touching. And once I got to the inside..Man, it's like some kind of magical blast from the past.

HotJuicyBurgers 10-30-2012 11:38 AM

Anyone think that the dedication, "A true BOTHER from another mother" might have been a small freudian slip on Eastman's part lol

Bobby Curnow 10-30-2012 11:39 AM

That first sentence dedication typo is on me! Should have caught it! Things came together so last minute with this book, but that's no excuse... still should have caught it!

In Bobby's defense, the printer proof also passed through Kevin, me, AND Nickelodeon, and none of us caught it, either, until it was too late. The typo that got away!

Let me guess, you guy's misspelled Pete's last name as "Lard"? :trazz:

You didn't read the thread did you?

Brother got changed to bother in the dedication.

Matches Malone 10-30-2012 02:08 PM

I'm getting really excited for the annual! The typo is unfortunate, especially affecting such a warm-hearted gesture. These things happen.

Some of the artwork looks a little rushed compared to Eastman's more recent covers, but I can't say it doesn't have some of that old magic! I love that splash page with the stooges! And you can definitely sense some Eastmanisms, like how Raph seems rowdier, or the goofy jokes. And you can also see some of Tom's writing too, which makes for an interesting blend, and I can't wait to read all SIXTY pages of it!

LeoNerdo 10-30-2012 02:57 PM

Thanks for the preview. I am REALLY excited to get this!!!!!!

corvus 10-30-2012 03:43 PM

So these come out tomorrow. The 31st right?

Here's what you need to do; grab a dictionary, or go to google, find out the definition of "Joke".

okguy456 10-30-2012 04:34 PM

so which should we read first issue #15 or the annual? or does it not matter?

Coro 10-30-2012 06:42 PM

OK so I just saw that the white variant covers are $100 a piece. WTF is this guy smoking over at Jetpack?!?!

Its a damn white cover, no special art, no special paper

As a turtle comic completionist this pisses me off:tmad:

Perhaps he intends to have them sketched on before shipping? If not, damn, the DF blank was 20 bucks.

EDIT: Good lord, man! Excluding the normal Annual, the other BIN is roughly 40.33 a book. -_- Oh well, another "limited" item (100 printed) I'll pass on.

There has to be something with them...no way enough people would buy them at $100 to make their money back

"Only 100 copies produced"

I am SUPER angry at this. I was planning on purchasing 15-20 blanks for future sketches. They would have made a TON of money with a reasonably priced full blank cover.

Looks like I am stuck paying $35 for a DFF blank still

Mayhem 10-31-2012 04:00 AM

I didn't realise the DFF had risen to that price now... I got a DFF with a sketch on it for $50 shortly after it was released.

But colour me annoyed as well, if the Jetpack versions are NOT going to be sold through Jetpack but are going to be on eBay only. I hope that isn't the case...

junkboy 10-31-2012 02:19 PM

I just bought the regular cover and 1:25 variant.

Being an international collector means no Jetpack covers for me. ( not buying the ongoing series Jetpack variants as well ) Cannot spend that much money on variants.

TheCanadiandrome 10-31-2012 03:14 PM

i want to get one of these
