Saw this today and thought of you guys. This is actually really frustrating for me because my store (Molly's Cupcakes) won cupcake wars a few years ago and I wish we could be back on to do this episode! I know TMNT and I know cupcakes, you guys!!

Jephael 11-03-2012 11:29 AM

I'm really looking forward to watching this!

pannoni1 11-03-2012 11:30 AM

An entire TV series just about cupcakes? (I just am aware of this show's existance today despite being in its third year already which shows how little I care about certain TV today). It could be a cool one-shot segment, but it just shows the obsessed culture we're in nowadays. Now if it was about pizza shaped in the form of a cupcake, then I might watch it and of course buy it. For example, a pepperoni cupcake, an anchovy cupcake, a sausage cupcake, etc...

So... a series about cupcakes is a no go but a series about pizza is okay?

NiNi 11-03-2012 11:33 AM

Oh wow! I'll definitely have to check this episode out. I actually like watching "Cupcake Wars" show so the fact that it has TMNT in an episode - I'm all for it.

Candy Kappa 11-03-2012 11:34 AM

looks pretty sweet :P

You're one of the last people who should complain abut the 'obsessed culture we're in nowadays'. You spend your days on a TMNT forum discussing the most trivial details of a kids property. Not that it's a bad thing, but still, perspective brah.

Donatello19 11-03-2012 05:21 PM

When does this episode premiere?

EDIT: Just checked my channel guide, it premieres tomorrow (November 4th) at 8:00 PM on Food Network. I'll be watching this! :D

Yes I forgot to ask

I just watched this and it was pretty cool that Kevin Michael Richardson was the guest judge for the episode. The right cupcakes/display won in my opinion.

I agree. However I was expecting that contestant to be eliminated in the first round.

Oh! You mean for putting mozzarella in the center of the cupcake? I was thinking that, too actually.

cartoonistaaron 11-04-2012 08:33 PM

My wife noticed the contestants and the host throwing around "Cowabunga" quite a bit! I think that part of Turtle lore is here to stay.

TheCanadiandrome 11-04-2012 09:44 PM

so, it aired today?

BubblyShell22 11-05-2012 07:30 AM

Yeah, it aired last night, but I missed it. Oh, well, maybe they'll replay it sometime.

And that's awesome that your store won Cupcake Wars, Hannah.

Sorta makes you wonder if the writers will eventually drop "Booyakasha" and just go back to the Turtles' classic tagline.

According to the TV Guide website, it looks like it's going to be on again at Food Network on Thursday (Nov 8 ) at 8:00 PM, EST, Friday (Nov 9) at 3:00 AM, EST (Yikes!), and Thursday (Nov 15) at 7:00 PM, EST.

Just thought I'd point this out just in case. :D

Blossombrooks 11-05-2012 11:56 AM

I love cupcake wars! I can't wait to see this, wonder when it'll air in the UK?? I bet i'm in for a wait....

BubblyShell22 11-05-2012 12:37 PM

Thanks for the heads up, NiNi. I don't think I'll be able to catch it this Thursday, but I'll try my best. If not, I'll try to see it on Nov. 15.

I actually read an interview recently with Cipes and he said they're likely going to do that. Can't give source though.

Saw this episode - Was cool, though I would've loved to see pastry chefs who were truer TMNT fans.

Right because us Ninja Turtle fanboys are known for making kick-ass baked goods!

I was thinking this too, actually. I'm sure if there was someone on their that had vast knowledge of TMNT, the creativity of their cupcakes would be insane.

I did love the winner's cupcake ideas, though. Inspires me to one day try my hand at cupcake decorating.

zkarlette 11-13-2012 02:39 AM

Just watched it today...the first group that I thought would get the boot won.:-?
Some of the cupcakes sounded good but the pizza flavored ones didn't appeal to me.

TheCanadiandrome 11-13-2012 12:14 PM

hopefully it'll air here Thursday
