anyone else loving how realistic this Donnie interacts with technology?
Anyone else loving how realistic the nickelodeon Donnie interacts with technology, as if he's just a guy in a basement with internet access?
yet another massive thumbs up for this version of the turtles. cred to ciro neril? examples: - being massively confused by alien computer interface - making low-tech stuff like ninja claws and flash powder eggs - metalhead looking kind of hacked together - laptop made from exposed, scrap parts - NOT making ultratech bulls*t like hovercrafts and time machines (ala 4kids) |
The fact he made Metalhead at all kind of negates your point.

also, all the other low-tech examples remain. |
Sorry but, when does 2k3 Donnie built a time machine?
EDIT: Fast Forward, I'm sorry. Continue. DOUBLE EDIT: Checked, and it was Cody who built the Time Window and Donnie helped to repair it with future technology. |

But I laughed pretty hard. It shouldn't be funny. It's the way you corrected it. |
The Tpod is very low tech indeed
|
^I love :tlove: also the T-phone!!!!!! :tgrin:

Yea, I like the Idea of him notknowing everything. Makes him a bit more relateable!

I preferred the way the original film did it, where Donnie was more of a grease monkey mechanic.

its in the execution for me. yes, he built a robot he could control with an nes, but the way it was written relative to the reality/fantasy context of the nick tmnt universe, it WAS pretty realistic. he's a teenager who created his own i-pod and i-phone, not, as others have mentioned, a million crazy futuristic totally impossible inventions. plus, he uses pretty "realistic" techno-babble. |
does anyone find it weird though that he knows how to make all this crap and knows all this tech jargon but didn't know what a pizza was?
oh and i don't think realistic would be the best word to describe his handle on tech. the ninja claws and egg shell smoke bombs... yes. but i find it hard to think that donnie (who has been underground with no previous exposure to alien tech, reading only the few books he has in the lair and maybe some shows on tv) is able to create a working android from a damaged kraang exosuit. reverse engineering would be nearly impossible. and the tpod too. how did he know how to hack into a satellite for songs. the dude has been sheltered for nearly his whole life. |
I also like the IDW Donnie who seems similar when he creates machines.
Donnie is always god-tier when it comes to "doing machines" but I think they are at least taking a fake and fictional realistic approach to it all as well as showcasing the limited amount of technology he actually has at his bay. |

But that's Batman. Who's got billions of dollars to throw at new and up and coming tech. Who had the best education money can buy. Who traveled the world for years and learned from the best minds alive. We're talking about Donatello, who grew up in a sewer cut off from... you know, everything. |

suspension of disbelief allows for some awesome stuff. |

Also the added drama of Lucius quitting because he thought what they were doing was immoral was lost in the third film, with Batman quitting right after Lucius and both of them joining forces as soon as the movie starts. |

Alas, Donnie and technology, lets hope we see the development of the Shell Raise, should be fun. |

I understand what Nolan was going for with his Talia reveal, but for me personally, it just made Bruce look incredibly stupid and more of a brute than an intelligent rational thinking person. Quote:
It's been awhile since I saw the movie, but if the audience was suppose to understand that Lucius decided not to quit, the indication wasn't as clear as I would have wanted it to be. Maybe they should have cut the whole "I'm quitting after this" speech if he was going to change his mind right away... |

The line is "as long as this machine exists I will no longer work for Wayne Enterprises".... Batman says "when your done type in your name" At the end of the movie he does this and it explodes....therefore he still works for Wayne. It was plenty clear and I think you are in the minority on this one. |

I'm sorry for the offtopicness, that's the last thing I will say about this topic... on this thread. |

And I actually thought that Lucius was the one destroying it, not Wayne. I thought it was all part of that gloomy ending of everything falling apart. My bad. |

Instead of doing some detective work, he just goes screaming and punching people. I felt bad for him because of his arrogance. Bane gets this look on his face when Batman is yelling at him about stuff that never happened to Bane. It's awkward. That and not figuring out that the Bane thing was a trap in the earlier scene. I excused it as him being out of the game for 8 years and being over competent and just wanting to get Bane and being totally unprepared. But I wouldn't have mind seeing him use other skills than brute force when he returns to Gotham. He does some light shows and stuff, but he still had no idea what was going on because all of his information came from people just telling him what had happened instead of him acting like a detective. But that's just my opinion. I like a lot of things in the Nolan films but not Nolan and Bale's interpretation of Batman. Their Bruce Wayne is great, however. |
Well it's then when 2k3 Donnie kept ridiculously lucking into Future/alien tech
