Official Ep discussion #10 "Panic in the Sewers"
http://vimeo.com/53971324
Alright... we here in the US finally emerged from the cloud of tryptophan, and now everyone's ready for the newest episode! So, the boys have been knocked down a couple pegs after getting their tails handed to them by Shredder. After last week, I'm sure the boys spent the time licking their wounds and wondering what to do now with their new nemeses... They now have a scarred and disfigured psychopath in bladed armor, a giant dog man and a nasty looking Snakehead fish-man. All trying to destroy the turtles in some sort of warped vengeance from events decades ago... what a nasty, gnarled mess they've become. The more I read about the species that Xever's turned into, the more I dislike him (those fish are NASTY lil buggers...). So this week, our newly mutated Bradford has come up with another idea to get the boys exterminated once and for all - poisoning the sewers with dangerous chemicals. Obviously, the boys are going to do their darnedest to stop him from doing this - but you have to wonder, will they actually succeed? Mind you, in the TMNT series from 2K3, their long-time lair was annihilated by the mousers in just the first episode. Nothing states that they couldn't lose their current lair, at least for a little while... So, WILL BRADFORD DRIVE THE TURTLES OUT OF THE SEWERS? WILL APRIL GET ANY CLOSER TO FINDING HER DAD AGAIN? WILL WE FIND MORE ABOUT SPLINTER AND SHREDDER'S PAST?? Stay Tuned!!! |
Have fun! :D
|
One thing I am curiousabout is will the world notice that their analog of Chuck Norris is missing or learn he has a secret darkside that lead to him accidently during into a dog-man? Considering his public persona it has to be touched on! It have an interesting fallout.
No sooner do they emerge from the sewers Dogpound is waiting for them.Mike recognizes him right off.Did the turtles know it was mutagen that hit him and Xever or what they mutated into? |
Dogpound is huge!!!!
|
Dogpound is awesome! I wasn't expecting him to be that huge! Hopefully we'll see Fishface soon!
|
This Victorious MV is pretty tiiiiiiight.

April's finally showing off some of her ninja skills! BTW, Leo WOULD have Captain Ryan as his icon on the t-phone XD. Also, we got to see spike some more! :) Dogpound really is huge, and he looks awesome. The question is, when is Fishface going to get his robotic legs?

That nightmare was pretty dark Splinter had. Poor guy is so stressed about their near death at the hands of the Shredder. I like how the Turtles are scared after being wrecked. Holy cow Dogpound is huge!!! Turtles are so stressed ans scared that they failed their first fight vs Dogpound. Also loved how Leo's pic on her cell phone was a pic of the Space heroes captain lol. Now we know April goes to Roosevelt High School.
Good episode. And Bradford/Dogpound is still a hard opponent for them. Fishface I don't think has his legs yet but we did get to see him swimming in the water in Shredder's lair. I wonder if Shredder is going to hook up with Stockman and get the legs built for Fishface. |

Solid episode. I loved how huge dogpound was. |
Pretty good show today, and what makes it really enjoyable is not only the long fight with Dogpound, but the buggy that allows the Turtles to have a nice chase scene that eventually results in the Turtles' first victory against Dogpound. April is also kidnapped for the second time in this series, and the reference by Don "I hear the sewers in Florida are nice this time of year" is a pure OT throwback, as are the grappling hooks. Maybe the fact that it was ineffective was a nod that it was what caused the OT to go downhill?
April also sees Shredder for the first time, and we see that she goes to Roosevelt High School. That dream at the start of the episode fooled me, since I thought it just picked up from the last episode after the Turtles' first encounter with Shredder. I also find it weird that the credits ended a minute before the episode was over, and Space Heroes has really become a show within a show. Overall: 8/10 |
I was surprised that his left arm was bigger than the right arm.
|
I wonder how/when Shredder will team up with the Kraang. I really want to see Fishface in action, but that's not going to happen until He gets the technology (legs and water supply) to walk on land and fight the turtles. The next episode is called "Mousers Attack!" so Stockman will probably be in it, and maybe HE will build the legs for Fishface.

Oh hey Mirage Splinter... didn't think I'd run into you here.
Seriously though what a great way to start off the episode giving us a glimpse of the not so loving Splinter, but instead the one that found himself mutated with four baby turtles and decided to dedicate their existence to the sole purpose of killing his most hated enemy Oroku Saki. It translated very well onto the screen and it was nice finally seeing that side of Splinter in one of the cartoons. Dogpound has a great design, I especially like that his bones seem to he exposed on his right hand, creepy stuff right there. Plus he's no Bebop or Rocksteady, it took a friggin' explosion to finally send him packing and I think that is how he should have explained it to Shredder, shame he's such a good dog or maybe he would have been more comfortable massaging the truth a little bit. I loved the shot of Fishface just chilling in the pool and that Xever didn't immediately get his Robot legs and Breathing apparatus, it somehow makes this world full of Mutants and Ninjas and Mutant Ninja more realistic to me. Plus having hims stuck in the pool gave us an awesome look of what Dogpound is capable of on his own. I so want the toys of the Patrol Buggies now after seieng them in action. What will definitely clench the deal for me is if they include Turtles with their respective headgear. Seriously Leo in that Baseball helmet looked awesome as did Football Raph and Hockey Don... Though where Mike found an aviator helmet kind of boggles my mind. I like that the first vehicle that we saw Donatello build was something that it would make sense for a Teenager to build as I know I for one had build a crappy little Go-Kart by the time i was fifteen, certainly feel like it will make it more logical when he builds the Shellraiser. Loved the message about not pysching yourself out but still knowing how to maintain caution. Though my favorite part of the episode was when my long held belief that Raphael actually enjoys Space Heroes was confirmed when he was able to quote it back to Leo when he needed it the most. Though like Raph I too am upset that Leo didn't slap himself... In closing how about April's student ID from Roosevelt High School... I'm sure Donnie is glad that she grew into her looks. Oh yeah and the Thermal Charge great throwback to issue numero uno |
The picture of April was hilarious! :tlol: I wonder when will see the Shell Raiser...
|
It IS amazing the Shellraiser still never appeared yet, since both OT and 2K3 vehicles made their debut pretty early.
|
Overall, another great episode. The opening was epic, loved how Mikey was hitting everyone with water balloons, and April was spectacular. :tsmile: And Dogpound was great too.
|
Rather standard episode. Obviously they couldn't top last weeks so we just get a decent Dogpound debut here.
Not sure I like how many mutants are in this show already and we know there will be more to come. Makes me worried we won't see some. |
So, are Spider Bytez and Snakeweed ever going to return? We saw that Snakeweed was still alive, and Spider Bytez was saying that it wasn't over and that he'd be back. Also, they just let that Monkey run loose in New York City. How does no one notice giant Plant Monsters, Huge Spiders, and Mutant Cyborg Monkeys running around?

How does Doctor Octopus get around unnoticed? Because who cares. |

I thought today's episode was pretty good. As someone else said, it would be tough to top last weeks episode. It was cool seeing Dogpound debut though and getting a quick look at Fishface to keep him relevant. Always nice seeing the foot too. I'm definitely buying the buggies! Those were awesome. I look forward to the shellraiser's debut also. Hopefully soon!

Hey guys. Looks like April's student ID is from 9th grade. Which is 14/15, right? You think she's significantly older than the turtles? Like 17?
Spoiler:
|
She's 16. That's been out there forever.

Good episode!! Like others have said Dogpound is HUGE! I like that the buggy splits off into 4.
So April goes to Roosevelt High School eh? After doing some research I found what is possibly her school: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frankli...lt_High_School Also, it seems that Space Heroes has a Worf equivilent now. *lol* |
I likes it. I thought it was weird how Dogpound just stood there forever while Mikey & Raph fumbled with their smoke pellets though.

Why does Dogpound even obey Shredder? He could easily defeat Shredder with his size.
