Raph singing in the tub....now that's wierd. Did anyone notice Mikey's farting? HA!

Good episode. You know what's weird? I have this kids book from when I was little and it feaures the exact same story! Now, I realize that this is based off Don's microseries comic, but I was looking through the book as I was watching the episode and even some of the lines are the same. It's just weird is all.

I really liked this episode! It was really accurate to the comic, except for the ending. It sucks they skipped out on the pasrt where Raph yells at Don about the water and Don glares at him and Raph goes "whats eating him?!"
But all in all, it was awesome!

Yay for April wearing a different shirt! No more ass crack!!!!

Cant wait for next week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty good ep. Didn't see a preview for next weeks ep though.

Anybody notice the movie reference? April tells them to hide, and turns around and they're gone. Then, when the guy at the door sees Mikey and does a double take, all thats there is a teddy bear. Complete throwback to TMNT 1. But, with that said, in the voice of Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons with a modified quote:

That was a great episode. It's gotta be one of my favorites so far.

Great ep! What I REALLY like about it is the fact that it was very faithful to the comic version.

Again, you have to be watching Cramp Twins and in a commercial, it'll show you. It has Shredder in it!

That sucks. I have to watch a crap twins just to see the preview.

good episode . . . but you'd think that raph would be really pissed that don never fixed the water heater :lol:

maybe they'll touch on that in the beginning of the next ep . . . that would be cool :D

Loved it (of course) especaily the whole TMNT movie 1 referance, and the scean after with Donny, Mikey, and April. "He did it!" Hehehe. My only problems are that they didn't give us a very good look at maskless Raphael, and they cut out the scene between Raphael and Donny at the end...oh well. Preview for next episode was durring Cramp Twins again *lame grumble* anyhow. It's the part where Leo gets beaten up by the footsies. "Leo's the last turtle you have to worry about....LEO! Who did this to you?!"

There's a reason the preview has been moved to Cramp Twins. It's so you have to watch the crap to see the preview for the best show ever. Notice April's shirt was yellow. This episode rocked.

I was WATCHING the show, you know since it doesn't come on until 9:30 here. Then... I had to reread the Don micro, to find how much they did word for word from it. :D

Yes, there was a children's book based on the Don microseries, so you're not crazy. :) That book was how I first read this story. It really is a neat little tricky way to have the kids reading the Mirage book without even knowing it.

This episode was great .. dare I say: perfect? Loved the little TMNT1 disappearing act. Although I was a bit disappointed Mike and Don weren't eating pork rinds..

I would definately consider this story one of the all-time classics, and justice has been done to it in animation. Did anyone else notice the awesome score during the battle? I am most impressed when I hear vocals! Now I really want a soundtrack!

And did anyone else think Kirby sounded like the guy in Nano?

I forced myself to watch Cramp Twins until I saw the preview for next week because the Leo microseries story arc is my all-time favorite. I CAN'T WAIT!

i really liked how april is wearing different clothes. . . hopefully they realize that the other clothes were a bit inappropriate and this will be a permanent change. regardless of what they wanted it to be, it sure looked like an ass to me . . .

anyways, that episode seemed to fly by. when kirby was drawing don, i thought he was going to create an army of dons. that would have been cool. but shouldn't the anti -gravity device made them float off instead of stopping in mid air? oh well.

i liked the dedication at the start of the ep too. and i guess when kirby got stuck in the dream world, it kinda symbolizes how he's gone now . . .

all in all, good ep. but i think the next two eps will be awesome!

Except that the story was originally written before Kirby passed away and still had the same ending.

Next three, my friend. Next three. 8)

hmmm . . . didn't know how the comic ended since i don't have it (or any for that matter). but you can still make that connection i suppose.

and yes, the next three should be good. i wonder what "Tales of Leo" will be about. i wonder how far into his past they will tell stories.

Great episode! I also loved how they had bits of TMNT1 (hiding & teddy bear) and TMNT2 (unexpected delivery guy) mixed into the ep to lead into the Kirby sequence. It did dissapoint that they ended the show with Don in the basement though. And well, since I didn't know they were showing previews way inot the Cramp Twins, I split the scene before that. But if I did know, ugh.. I don't think I want to chance raising Cramp Twin Ratings by leaving it only long enough to see the preview. No matter. I know what's to be next anyhoo. :wink:

Also funny they have April in a yellow T shirt (that covers all). She changes clothes! Whoa... :lol:

But what really impressed me is how they nearly matched the Don/Kirby scenario word for word. Very little was changed from the original tale once the two entered the fantasy world. Of course, the way they staged the monster attack, it so reminded me of LotR: the Twin Towers as well, when the orcs where storming the fort. :goofygri:

i wonder if it would have been wrong to show him without his towel. i mean, it's not like his belt and knee pads covered anything up before . . .

I caught the little Movie refrence in the apartment there, that was good.
Did anyone else notice all the monsters were variations on just 3 designs? :lol: Oh well I guess its hard to draw too many diffrent monsters.

There was also what I would think was a lotr reference "You shall not pass!" When the human guys fight the monsters the first time.

They did a great job bringing the comic and Jack Kirby's stuff into animation life.

Next week is the Leonardo One Shot.... :evilgrin:

I wondered if Raph had pupils without his mask on, but we never really got to see all that clearly...

The first part was different from the microseries. But at the end, some of the scenes were missing. It threw a twist on me.....it did not show Donny going up the stairs and meeting up with Raph. I missed the line, "What is eating him?"

Otherwise, it is a good episode.

Since I remember reading that they would have pupils when they didn't have their masks on, I was an über-geek who ran up close to the TV and squinted to see if I could tell. But I really couldn't.

Wow, fantastic episode. It was pretty much straight from the comics, with a few references to the first movie. Very well done.

I can't wait for "Shredder Strikes Back"!

Yeah I noticed the LOTR "You shall not pass!" reference too. Hey I wonder how Don is gonna explain to April how her treant just disapearered!?

I don't think they ever addressed that issue in the comics. I wonder if they will in the cartoon...

They never explained that in the issue or the children's book.

I hope they do do something about that. It would be funny if they opened next weeks ep. with April yelling at Don.

and same with raph . . . he's still waiting to finish his shower! :lol:

First of all. *screams "OMG, Raph's in a towel!" like the rabid little fangirl she is* There, now that that's out of my system. :lol:

I totally loved this episode. Of course I got a kick out of the references to the movies, and I instantly noticed that April had a different outfit on. Not sure if the yellow works for her, but I do like the full shirt instead of the half shirt.

Did anybody else get a kick out of Don's battle cries? He was totally getting into the fight, and having fun, I found that amusing.

I was kinda disappointed that they didn't do the end scene between Raph and Don, and that they didn't show Raph in that much detail, but it's not really something to get worked up about. They did a great job with the story, keeping it very true to the original, yet still managing to tie it together with the current storyline.

Is it just me, or does this show keep getting better and better?

but it wasn't a jumpsuit! I can't wait to see april in a towel HURURURURURRUR :P

Today's ep was pretty sweet, I just wish I wasn't sick :(

I wonder how they're going to do it if it is supposedly the Leonardo one shot, because that happened in the winter, Christmas time to be exact, and would feel out of place if it was done in the Beginning of June.... Without the snow battles, it just wouldn't be Leonardo #1 :(

It could still work.....I know that it would not be the same but it probably will be similar.
