2012 Leonardo Error *maybe*
Hey guys,
I'm new to this forum (and forums in general for that matter) but I had a question. (AND DON'T SCOLD ME IF THIS HAS ALREADY BEEN DISCUSSED PLEASE) Upon the initial release of the Nickelodeon's TMNT figures, did anyone notice that Leonardo's promotional pics looked different than the rest of the turtles. It just seemed to me that his belt, knee/elbow pads were grey/silver compared to the rest of his bros. Which I though was a kind of neat idea to establish a leader. However he ended up having the same color brown like the rest. I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to get my hands on that and was wondering if there was any information on it. Any helpful replies would be greatly appreciated ~COWABUNGA/BOOYAKASHA~ OrokuYoshiFilms |

Where did you see silver? This was the main promotional image used:

Uh, yes it is, 'homie'. Maybe it's not the one you're talking about, but these were the first promo pictures released.
EDIT (since you've posted again): That's not grey. It's a slightly different shade of brown. Obviously they changed it a little before they went into production. |
Nah, man it's totally grey. (It's almost the same as the weapons) ....and I've seen that custom on Mint Condition Customs. ...and even if it is 'a different shade of brown', that's my whole point: It's different than the rest.....AND I WANT IT!!! I just want to finally have something that I won't rip out of the box as soon as I get home with it. I would actually keep this one MOC.

....and I see it's customary around here to apologize for heavy pics, so......sorry. I plan on deleting it as soon as I get a reply.

Blah, blah, blah
*sigh* here we go....I don't need to check my facts sir/ma'am/whoever you are. The whole point of me joining this forum is because I DON'T have all the facts. If I had them all, I wouldn't be here. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I'm adult enough to know how to admit that. I can argue all I want until you prove me wrong, but if YOU choose to engage in that argument with me, then you're subject to whatever consequences come about. Leave your self-entitlment issues at Login. That is all. Anyway, thanks (I guess) for clearing that up for me...

I thought they did hand them out at comic con? and I see them on ebay from time to time. When I see those It makes me glad I have not got an of the Nick figs yet. I hope they release classic style Nick TMNTS with all details. I can not get passed the un painted swords, sai etc. |
The figures given out at the Toy Fair & whatnot are virtually the same as the store models, except that their weapons are fully painted, as are their belt buckles. They're not drybrushed or paintwashed or whatever it is they call that black speckling look.

"Wow, just wow. do you always get passive aggressive and defensive when someone corrects you?" *in a mocking voice*
tee hee hee...... ....and a "BLAH, BLAH, BLAH" to you as well! Just keep 'em comin', Candy Kappa. You want some of this too then I'LL TAKE YOU ALL ON!!!! *that was so Raphael right?* LOL. *ahem* No, seriously, if you think that's passive aggressive then you need to grow a pair....or do some push-ups or somethin' I dunno. Bottom line is, if you wanna correct me, do it with taste. Don't tell me about what facts I know. I said if I'm, wrong I'm wrong. For ****s sake we're talking about TOYS here. Take a minute and step back from your "I'm-important-on-an-internet-forum" state of mind. If you've really got a problem with what I have to say then by all means, find another thread to annoy someone on. |
So....you only have a dozen posts and you're already in a sparing match with long-timers just answering your question...the very point of the thread.
Great way to make friends, bud. |

Yep, it's totally the old guard that's the condescending jerks....

If only we knew how to treat the fragile new snowflakes better, instead of stomping them down like the evil overlords we are... if only.

But anyway, thanks for the compliment? |

you've got me well on my way to TWO......TWO DOZEN POSTS AH! AH! AH! *a la The Count* ....and don't make up "old adages" just to try and be a smart-a$$....an old adage is like "Forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for late pizza." You guys crack me up... |
The "grey" pads, which is really just a washed out light brown, was not mass produced. If you want one., either talk to Playmates about selling you the photographed prototype or make a custom one.
Is that clear enough for you, killer? EDIT: Ok, what about the old adage: "Colors and decorations may vary." Got that from my Panda Khan card. |

The second image is a picture of the very figure that did hit stores. The reason why the colours might look slightly different is because the picture was probably photoshoped to make it look neater, but in my own eye, I still see all of that as a different shade of brown, not grey. The only way to acquire prototypes is buying it straight from the company, or the person who owns them. They don't have a retailer price, and it really is all about knowing the right people. Members of this forums, such as Archon_Turtle, could explain all of this a lot better. But keep in mind that, if you were willing to acquire a prototype for the Leo figure, it would be the one pictured in the first image, not the other, wich as far as I understand is the one you want. |

To be honest, I really hope we get higher quality Nick figs, done in the Classic line, with a higher retail price, aimed at the collector, and not children's toys. I want more articulation, full paint work, 6 inch scale pupils, skin tones, etc. |

I have to agree though while it would be pretty low on the list of classics style figures I would want it would be nice to have a set of the Nick Turtles with awesome articulation and detail. (To add to my three sets that I already have...I may have a problem) |
why hasn't playmates and other toy companies figured out that they could easily sell figures with premium paint jobs at a higher price, even if they were exclusives on playmates.com or something? They should really experiment with things like that. I know I'd love it.

i think when they made the sculpts for the first series, they probably didn't have the final designs for the show - it happens a lot
i'd love nick turtles in the classics line, but i don't think they'll do it (well, i think it would sell, but since they already released nick turtles in 3 different scales, i'm not sure... well, i actually hope they don't , cause i'll custom them :) actually, i think they'd get the best for their money now if they made the movie turtles, do you guys agree? and welcome orokuyoshifilms you're a very charming person XD (what am i even welcoming anyone? i'm new myself) |

Basically to re sum up what I said, I want 6 inch scale Nick TMNTs, that have all the details, pupils, painted weapons, skin tones etc. They should be just like the new Classic ones. |
