What's The Worst Playmates Toys Figure?

Exactly as the title says. In your opinion, what playmates toys figure is the worst? Be sure to state why you think the figure is the worst. It could be from any line. The original one, the next mutation, 2k3, or even the new one (though I think the news ones are some of the best).

Most disappointing for me was Agent Bishop. For a nimble guy, he had pretty terrible articulation, and for some reason a red hand (I guess that was supposed to represent his battle suit?). Also his weapons were just General Blanque's. Blanque was a lame figure but at least he was a bland character, too, so it worked. And finally, Bishop's face looked like it was a monkey's with sunglasses.

I always thought the original shredder was pretty horrible. He was impossible to pose and he just didn't look very intimidating.

Wait a minute...

Deja Vu!

I'm afraid there is very little new content on the internet.

there are so many, and so many i never owned, that i can't really comment accurately. I will say that the Nick Kraang figure is pretty bad.

I was sorry to hear that one got some of the worst reviews. It was actually the one I was most tempted to buy when I first heard about it.

The only bad things are his articulation and that he can't stand very well.

I've heard a few people say they aren't crazy about the paint on him. But I guess that's really a matter of opinion.:ohwell:

The Nick April is pretty sad.

VaughnMichael 12-21-2012 07:31 AM

At the moment not a fan of the Dogpound figure.

Maybe if we're lucky they will give him another shot. It's getting to the point now where a secondary line is needed for larger characters.

He can't stand very well which greatly limits posability, but that's not the worst part, the worst is that the Kraang brain inside is very easy to damage. His arms will break off very easily even if you're very careful. Mine haven't but... I have seen countless pictures of it.

Chrome Dome or Mutagen Man... Both figures just fell apart in my hands as a kid that always bothered me.

I think maybe you're just way too rough with your toys, or perhaps unlucky. As a lad none of mine just fell apart. They only did so via wear and tear.

Oh you cut me deep... I take care of my toys, I mean yeah it was after playing, but still it surprised me when Chromedomes chest fell apart and the one time when I moved Mutagen Man's arm and came away with a nice souvenir. I had the same thing happen with a friend's chrome dome as well and that was while he was using it

Ya'll didn't live next to large power plant, did you? :-P

Weirdo-Warrior 12-24-2012 03:46 PM

I can only speak about the vintage line. The original Shredder was pretty lame, and so were many of the endless Turtles variations.

I like that her giant feet make her easy to stand.

She does seem a little bland compared to the design of previous Aprils, though.

Turtle Freak88 01-09-2013 12:34 AM

Yeah I never liked the 88 shredder. He always looked like a generic wrestler you would see at the Dollar store or something!

Mzx10484 01-09-2013 08:45 AM

I agree, '88 Shredder was far away from the comics/original toon... those tiny black dot eyes... the blue helmet/armor... But Toon Shredder brought it ! I still love the figure.

ScratchTheHotSpot 01-09-2013 09:19 AM

I'd say the worst in my opinion is the Star Trek TMNT figures released in 1994. I'd just be too embarressed to have those in my collection...

Also agree with 88 Shredder because of his paint job, and also Foot Soldier... How hard is it to paint a figure in the correct colours?!? :tmad:

Ditto. It's not cartoon-accurate, it's not a practical battle design despite loads of weapons, and the head looks like Will Smith, but as such it's a hilarious type of zany usually reserved for counterfeit toys!

Nick April's alright by the standards of the "bad" Nickelodeon figures, and though she lacks a lot of articulation she's better in that regard than other Aprils; giving her a Bo staff was also a nice choice to help pose her. The big problem I have with her is I worry about breaking her arms and legs; they are incredibly thin and can't bend.

The Nickelodeon figure I am most disgusted with is Splinter. The Kraang may be objectively worse, but it's a mook; Splinter is a ninja master and pivotal character, and he gets a horribly stiff figure. I hope for an update.

As for the 1987 series, I nominate the ooze catapult as the most shameful bit of that line not only because it didn't actually work with the ooze, but because they made a hoax of it working the commercial; that's just slimy. (No pun intended!). The bit of the 2003 line that made me maddest was the prehistoric toys, because instead of making a toy of Renet, who was pivotal in that arc, they gave us a repainted Battle Shell. (How the shell could they build that?!)

I don't mind Shredder's look, but he's a pain in the butt to pose, probably more so than any other figure in my collection. I always have to prop him against something when he's on a shelf.

galaxysurfer 01-12-2013 07:31 PM

I was always disappointed in the original Shredder as well. He was so squatty! I hope they remake him in the new Classics line.
