Roseann Barr to be in finale, new eps start 1/25
|
It says she's "Kraang Prime". So either she's the Krang we known and love, or gets killed off and is replaced by the Krang we known and love in season 2.
|
She's the Queen Bee of the Kraang, and I hope she doesn't get killed off. I can't wait to see what Roseanne brings to the show.
|
Me too, she could probably make Krang quite the character.
|
This is not Krang, it's a female Kraang for those unaware.
Krang himself is not confirmed for this show. |

The "Krang we know and love" was voiced by Pat Fraley and starred in almost every episode of the original series. Wanna see him? It's on DVD. This is a new show with new takes on old characters. It's sad that you loons need this spelled out for you. |
I'd agree with you guys if IDW wasn't using him, which means that particular character could have been used.

She is not really the first person that comes to mind when I think of the name krang in any instance, but this show has really pushed the limits of what I think of some of these characters. So, Im game to see where this goes!
|
My first thought is, "Eh, I loathe Roseanne." But you never know. I wasn't thrilled with Biggs casting, until I heard him.
|
Yup definitely sounds like a Queen Kraang or some kind of leader/general/whatever. I like Roseanne so I hope she becomes a lasting member of the cast. I think a female Kraang leader is a little more interesting than OT Krang anyway.
|
This has already been addressed in numerous threads. Take a look around before you post 'news'.
|
Considering how Krang's voice sounded in the OT, I see no reason to assume Barr's character is female.

If all else fails, she could always knock out the Turtles by singing the Star Spangled Banner.
|
I can hear Roseanne's voice working well for a Kraang, she's got a very abrasive sound. But can she act it well, that's the real question...
I mean, she's a decent actress in live action, but has she ever done any voice-over before even? That's almost an entirely different skill set. |

She was in Disney's Home on the Range. The supposed 'last' handrawn film Disney would do at the time it was released. |
She voiced a cow in that film... Now she is going to be an alien brain blob... Seems fitting.. Bit of typecasting.
All joking aside I actually really liked her show Roseanne as a kid.. They always had really cool Halloween episodes.. She wouldn't have been the first person I thought of for a hive brain master kraang but at this point I have learned to be open minded until I see it in action. |
Oh yeah, I forgot all about Home on the Range. Probably because I never saw it. ^_^; Was she any good in that?

Can't really bother to remember since it's been awhile and not really one of my favorites. I'd say she was pretty much acting like she usually was. |

Interesting fun fact: Elias Koteas played Kirstie Allie's brother in this film! |
Not sure if I am the only one however, I think this is a bad a idea for casting her.. still bitter about what she did during the singing of the national anthem...Very disrespectful moment.. Still going to watch the show just hope she is a one and done character

I don't know that Kraang's gender was ever confirmed one way or the other in the old cartoon, and given that he was a member of an alien race, he wouldn't necessarily need to be male OR female. I remember Pat Fraley saying in an interview that he modeled the voice for Krang after now late actress Katherine Hepburn. I'm sure using Roseanne Barr will be expensive, but hey, it isn't my money they're spending :tlol:

There never should have been a doubt in anyones mind that Krang was male. |
I'm sort of surprised Truman Capote wasn't the inspiration for Fraley.

If you google roseanne bar national anthem controversy you will easily find it.. Oh well as long as she does not stink up the join when this episode premieres I suppose. |

elias koteas played kirstie allie's bro in look who's talking too, where roseanne did the voice of the newborn daughter. |
I'm looking forward to seeing how this "Kraang Prime" character is handled. It'll be interesting to see how they choose to make this "queen bee" look unique compared to the hive-minded Kraang.
Also, while it's Roseanne voicing the character, and while it's most likely that this Kraang Prime character is female, I wouldn't assume so just yet. Wouldn't be the first time that a female voice actress voiced a male character. We'll just have to wait and see. Either way, I'm sure this is supposed to be this show's Krang. |
Rob Pauslen did say there was a female Kraang, unless he was just talking about the VA.

It would kind of make sense if all the Kraang we've seen are apparently male, and there turns out to be one sort of hive queen.
We'll see. But I don't think a female VA necessarily means a female Kraang. |
My two cents:
I actually thought it was Casandra Peterson voicing the female Kraang. I guess I got my wires crossed. I'm actually really pumped for this episode. I grew up with Roseanne (and I too remember those awesome Halloween themed episodes). I have a lot faith in her, and know she will do awesome job. Someone asked what voice over work she did. While she doesn't have an extensive voice over resume, she voiced herself in animated special (more of a knock off of Who Framed Roger Rabbit really with guest appearances of The Care Bears, Beetlejuice, Tom and Jerry and Archie's Betty and Veronica) along side her then husband Tom Arnold in The Rosey & Buddy Show (not to be confused with the show Little Rosey which was an animated series portraying her as a child voiced by Kathleen Laskey), she also was on Futurama as a hologram of herself in the episode Three Hundred Big Boys and did the voice of Maggie in the 2004 Disney film Home on the Range. I like Roseanne Barr so I support this full heartedly. I don't know if anyone else is picking this up, aside from the horror theme... I really love the 80's theme going on with the new show, as far as guest stars are concerned... Sean Astin - while not a guest a star but still should be added to the list, The Goonies - 1985 Jeffery Combs - Re-Animator -1985 Kelly Hu- Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan 1989 (her first film) Roseanne Barr - Roseanne- 1988 Corey Feldman - child star of the 80's Cassandra Peterson - Elvira |

Well if Cassandra Peterson was considered for the role, forget what I said about it not being female. It probably is a hive queen thing...
|
If it is a brain with lipstick I will not be happy :(
