What does the future hold for the "Pulverizer" character?

So they introduced a new character who was obviously meant to be poorly received by fans given he was purposely written to be an awful doofus. But what does Nick have planned for the character?

He doesn't seem like a regular kid sidekick character the Turtles have in other series, like Zack from the OT, or Angel from the 4kids series where the Turtles were friends with them and enjoyed their company.

What do you think he was introduced for, and will we see him again?

I'm betting on the newtrailizer, thought I may not want it to happen, it probably will, or we can have him appear in a big battle to assist the turtles or something, but I'm leaning towards the newtrailizer.

I'm guessing he'll become the Newtralizer and then maybe somehow become a better hero. Honestly, I thought he was a decent character. While he was pretty much a doofus like Splinter said, I'd rather have him than Zack.

But it could be. A general thread about the character is pointless if it doesn't talk about his potential for returning in future episodes.

Coola Yagami 02-16-2013 10:34 PM

I still say nay on Newtralizer unless you want that bad-ass looking character to be a doofus. Being mutated doesn't automatically make you super bad-ass.. He's gonna be too busy tripping over his 90's pouches to do anything useful.

I think that's the gag. They purposely introduce a character who is generally viewed as pathetic, can't fight, is a doofus....and then he winds up becoming some sort of badass Newt mutant with muscles.

After the way they introduced Rat King as, "Dr. Falco," I suppose this is quite possible here.

Jester 02-16-2013 10:41 PM

Well, mutagen would be a way for someone who wants to be a hero NOW to get some perceived benefits.

I guess you missed the part where he said he'll be practicing. I don't doubt that he might be a profiicient fighter in his next appearance.

NinjaMan 02-16-2013 11:03 PM

Hmm if he ends up being Newtralizer, it looks like he'll be training with explosives judging by the toy. Also I wonder if he got that gear on his own or has a benefactor. Heck, if Newtralizer is a villain, he could be holding a grudge against the Turtles for rejecting him. Like Syndrome in the Incredibles.

Drose18 02-16-2013 11:04 PM

He becomes wingnut and gets a buddy to b screwloose when theyre hanging out trying to stop crime with the info they got from the turtles abt kraang and get mutated.

gobo 02-16-2013 11:07 PM

What buddy? He's obviously a loner.

Machias Banshee 02-16-2013 11:21 PM

Hm... does anyone remember watching the Incredibles?

Our rejected little superfan could be overcome with hurt and resentment at being jilted by his heroes, which could drive him into being an Enemy.

Meee! I do! I love that movie, one of pixars best.

STORMSHADOW__210 02-16-2013 11:27 PM

I think he was a nod to 80s honorary 5th turtles Zack He may have cameos here and there.I just think season ine is about introducing the pieces...season 2 is when i think the series will really begin.

Shark_Blade 02-16-2013 11:28 PM

I hate him so much. I like nothing better than having him not re-apearing ever again.

But like others has said, he'll probably be Newtralizer.

Shame on you for trying to steal the noob's thunder, Machi. ;)

Machias Banshee 02-16-2013 11:44 PM

Hey, it's good enough to be mentioned twice, I guess... :goofygri:

Vivi 02-16-2013 11:58 PM

He'll become Andy from 'Parks & Recreation'.

I kind of like Pulverizer and hope to see more of him.

CyberCubed 02-17-2013 12:30 AM

I've honestly never actually hated a TMNT character before the Pulverizer was introduced.

Sure, there were a lot of boring or useless characters introduced in TMNT over the years, (mad scientists in OT, Garbageman in 4kids, some of the boring characters in Mirage), but I never actually hated one.

Zack and Angel > Pulverizer.

BubblyShell22 02-17-2013 09:30 AM

I think he'll become Newtralizer. It just makes sense judging by his character and how he was rejected by the Turtles to ever train with them. Besides, look at Vic. He wasn't a fighter and when he became Spyderbitez he suddenly was able to fight the Turtles and shoot lava from his mouth. So, it can happen.

Slade 02-17-2013 09:44 AM

I'd really rather not see him again, didn't care for him at all.

Oculus Orbus 02-17-2013 09:49 AM

I hated the character, found it completely pointless and annoying. This was probably the first episode I didn't like.

I feel there's a big chance he'll become The Newtralizer, but I don't know if I want it to happen. I don't think I want that badass mutant to carry that lame background with him.

miru 02-17-2013 11:26 AM

He'll appear again, only to sacrifice himself for the sake of the Turtles and April. Newtralizer will be mutated from an ordinary newt.

True but it's a loooong way from not being able to do a push-up to suddenly being a proficient fighter... unless he doesn't return til season 10 or so. LOL

tkcom 02-17-2013 12:07 PM

Rejected by the Turtles, I'd imagine Shredder would welcome him with the open arms. Pulverizer's knowledge of the Turtle Lair will be extremely important to Shredder. He'll be back as Shredder's spy.

No, he wouldn't do that, he loves the turtles, remember? He's too big of a fan to turn on them.

gobo 02-17-2013 01:18 PM

Funny thing about dufi is that they're easily manipulated. :shifty:

As easy as an offer to train him in ninjutsu. You know, Splinter isn't the only one in town with a dojo.

Yeah.. I have a feeling that line was suppossed to forshadow Pulverizer's impulsive attitude. It would make sense that he would choose Mutagen to get there quicker. :twink:

Pulverizer's character design did remind me of Syndrome a little.. :tlol:

Yeah.. If he did turn on them it could be possibly due to Shredder's misguidance.. We'll just have to wait and see.

AnarkyLantern 02-17-2013 05:26 PM

It kinda looked like he had this on: http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/Pop...mas-171769.jsp

Triceraton Jones 02-17-2013 07:09 PM

I know what's going to happen to him. He trains really hard becomes fit and strong and changes his costume to that of a hockey mask.

I'm only joking by the way that will never happen, or at least it better not ever happen.

Luigiperps 02-17-2013 07:12 PM

Any one think the, "Col, how do I do that?" Line about the turtles being mutant being a fore shadow

CyberCubed 02-17-2013 11:04 PM

Good thing is the Newtralizer shows up in episode 18, so we'll know quickly enough if he's the Pulverizer or not.

He's dressed like a stereotypical Rob Liefeld character, so yeah, I could see that happening. Anyone who thinks Youngblood is the pinnacle of superhero costume design sounds like a doofus to me.

Its episode 19 then, don't throw a pissy fit that I'm off by one episode.
